One second Vincent was at Tony's place testing out a ridiculous machine and the next second sun was beating down on his head. He looked around, eyes darting in every possible direction, not understanding. "It worked?" he whispered to himself. "It worked..." Vincent didn't have much time to think on this because he saw creatures coming at him that he'd never seen before. "What in the world?" he mumbled squinting into the distance.
They rode up and circled around him. The lead and the tallest, named Gunta, hopped from his beast smoothly without even stopping it and approached Vincent. 'What are you doing? Who are you?' He asked in his language, not considering this man couldn't understand him. They all pointed weapons at him, some spears, other similar to guns.
Vincent looked around at all the strange creatures surrounding him. "What?" he blinked rapidly at the one who was clearly the leader's language. Vincent spoke a few different languages but not whatever this was. "Do you speak English?" Vincent tried that phrase in French, Irish, and Spanish hoping that one of them would understand what he was saying.
Gunta got angry and frustrated. Finally he shouted loudly for silence. When it was granted, he slowly circled around Vincent, keeping out of striking distance. He spoke in latin. 'Do you speak the language of the flyers?'
Latin?! Why did it have to be Latin? Vincent hadn't finished all his studying on that language yet. "Flyers are what?" Vicent asked the strange creature in Latin. It sounded a little off because it wasn't his native tongue. Vincent really didn't fell all that safe with these foreign things pointing sharp objects at him but he would try to be peaceful with them. After all he had gotten himself into this mess.
Gunta huffed. "Don't play dumb. What's your business here? Builders don't wander out this far...and you're obviously not a flyer, or one of us."
"I say we kill him." A female growled.
"Silence!" Gunta warned, before turning his attention back to Vincent. "What's your name?"
Vincent honestly had no idea what a flyer was. "That's because I not from here!" Vincent huffed back with a frown. "My name is Vincent Valentino." he said, his eyes darting from the male to the female. "What year is it?" He asked trying hard to remember the Latin he had learned. Vincent still thought he had time travelled and had no idea what was going on at this point.
"We don't count our years, only the passing of leaders and the largest moon's full." Gunta motioned for two of the males to grab Vincent and bind him. This time, he spoke in english. "I am Gunta. And I am taking you to our leader, where if you are deemed worthless, you will be killed."
'Run... Don't run...' Vincent debated in his head as he felt whatever these things were bind his hands. Being killed didn't sound great but he had no idea where to go if he ran. So he was stuck... Hopefully his smooth talking could get him out of this. For now he remained silent and cooperated with the creatures in hopes to score some points with them.
Vincent was pulled onto the back of one of the beasts behind one of the males who bound him. Soon they were riding quikly along, the beasts bouncing beneath their riders. A village beneath the shadow of cliffs appeared on the horrizon and they steered towards it.
Vincent could feel the dry air against his face as the creatures took him on their beasts. He made sure to remain silent through the ride, not that he had much to say. Vincent was still in a state of shock as they arrived at some village he'd never once seen on a geography map. Vincent was someone who was very intelligent and knew a lot about the world but this place was different...
They rode to the house of their leader and Vincent was taken off the beast and set on his feet. "Come." Gunta said in his own language, gesturing for Vincent to follow him as he approached the house. The buildings were round, and short, with the ground beneath them to make the rooms only just tall enough to allow the Autocthon to stand up straight and have a few inches above them. The buildings were more like permanent tents, and were colored to blend pretty well with the surroundings. Vincent was shoved to follow Gunta while he entered the house.
"Hey watch it! I'm going." Vincent snapped without thinking when he was shoved forward. Since he had found that the leader could speak clear English he didn't bother with Latin. The male followed in after Gunta trying to take a few deep breaths to calm himself. Vincent could usually hold his temper but it got a little hard when he was being physically tested.
Gunta crossed his long arms and stepped to the side as their leader came forward. It was another male, taller than the rest. He looked stronger and more dangerous. He walked right up to Vincent and bent forward so they were eye to eye. "What filth have you brought me, Gunta?" He asked, speaking perfect English.
Vincent clenched his jaw and flared his nostrils. "My name is Vincent Valentino and I am not filth." his voice suddenly changed to an accent that sounded Spanish. Vincent hated being talked down to. He stared right back into the higher leader's eyes not flinching or backing down. He didn't look aggressive but more assertive.
He rolled his eyes and stood up straight again, looking down on Vincent like an insect. "What are you then, if you're not filth? What kind of fool are you to end up here, in my territory? What worth do you have, that I won't just feed you to my pets." He gestured back to two huge wolf-like creatures resting by his 'throne'
((Terribly sorry for the few replies yesterday. My internet decided to hate me.))
"Because I-I need your help." Vincent stumbled over his words, barely noticable. "I don't know where I am or what time period this is." he tried to calm down as he talked to the leader but his anger was quickly changing into fear. Vincent had a feeling these people wouldn't understand or wouldn't have mercy. Either way his hope was slowly diminishing.
He laughed and everyone around laughed with him. "Pathetic. That's what you puny builders are. Do you really think we'll fall for such nonsense? You're in Aeterna, the territory of the Autocthon rulers. The eleven million, three hundred fifty-six thousand, two hundred thirteenth generation."
Vincent's eyes widened not understanding. "The what? Builder? I have no idea what you're talking about!" he screamed looking around for someone, anyone, that might actually believe him but everyone was laughing. "I am being serious! I'm not from here and I need to get back!" Vincent started mumbling to himself in Spanish feeling dizzy all of a sudden. The heat mixed with the stress and not eating for a couple days now was causing him to have an anxiety attack and feel faint.
In the gathered group, a young male, Toro, sensed Vincent's lack of health. He stepped forward, saying something that made a lot of the others scowl or glare at him. He and the high leader seemed to get into some sort of arguement before the leader threw his hands up, giving up and turning away. "Toro will be responsible for you. You have two days before judgement will be passed. Get him out of my sight."
Toro nodded and put a hand on Vincent's shoulder, guiding him out.
