Jackie pretty much ignored Xavier after that. She began to make the potion and followed the rules. She wasn't going to be the first to speak. He could if he wanted to. As far as she cared she just wanted an 'A'.
Xavier was relieved when Jackie didn't say anything to him about the picture. He kind of wished they could just talk but wouldn't speak first either. While Jackie worked on a certain part of the potion Xavier wrote down some measurements of what they'd need the following day. He saw her ready to add something and spoke up. "That doesn't get put in until tomorrow. We have to let it sit overnight." he said and pointed to the instructions before she could ruin the whole project. That was why their teacher had given them more then just one day to make a potion; some required several days.
Jackie pause. "So he speaks"
She set the vial down. "I was just testing to see if you were paying attention. I'm not going to earn you an 'A' too you've got to pull your weight too."
"Yeah that's totally what I thought was going to happen." Xavier snappped out of anger when he heard her words. He found them to be very offensive and didn't really feel the want to speak to Jackie as he had before. Nor did he care what she'd thought of his drawing. He made a point to turn his chair away from her and start writing the report they'd need for their potion at the very end.
Jackie looked up at him in surprise and then giggled. She began to laugh even harder and snorted softly. The teacher glanced at her, but ignored them since they were both good students.
She placed a hand over her mouth and managed to stifle the giggling.
Xavier completely ignored Jackie from that point. He wrote there report very well and didn't look over at her once. She really irritated him with what she'd said and he didn't want to work with her anymore. Part of him thought of going to their teacher and asking to switch partners but Xavier was more mature than that.
"I've never seen you mad before," Jackie said after she stopped giggling. "
