((Just thought I'd say, horses sleep standing up, ussualy with their eyes open. I figured a centaur would close their eyes, but sleep standing up.))
"It was because of her that I became a +Anima. She told me to run into the woods and that she would be right behind me, but once I looked back I saw her killed by a demon at the head of the pack," Shikume sobbedd as he broke down crying at the horrible memory. He had turned the moment around in his mind so many times trying to figure out what he could have done to save her, but if she hadn't stopped before the forest he too would have been killed. Wiping his eyes with his sleeve he turned to face Aislin, "When did you meet my sister, and how soon can we meet up with the others?" Shikume asked trying to prepare himself to let the others know what happened to him all those years ago.
((Sorry for posting on again off again, I'm trying to find time when i can use a computer when i'm not working, but I should be able to post more reguarly in a week or two.))
((Thanks guys. :) ))
Marcus nodded and crouched, then lept upward onto the treehouse porch. He motioned for Yuki to follow him, but paused as he heard voices. "Hm." he mumbled. Knocking on the treehouse wall, he called to them. "Yo, what's going on?" he called. Marcus didn't want to go in incase Shikume needed some time.
By the time nate made it back to the treehouse, everyone but jake was there. " is everything ok??" nate asked nervously. its been 5 minutes... nothing that bad couldve happened since then......right??? nate thought slightly panicked. then he realized shikume was in the house. nate mentalky slapped himself and took a step back
Aislin swallowed hard and turned away for a moment, trying to compose herself. She hadn't been there for Krista when she had been killed, and she had never forgiven herself for it. Hearing Shikume's question, Aislin took a deep breath and turned back around, trusting herself to speak. "We met at an outdoor market-- I helped her carry her stuff, and I guess we kind of bonded. She invited me out to dinner, and that's just how it happened. I was visiting that day, and then of course I had to leave. But she and I stayed in contact until the day she..." Aislin choked off her sentence. "I, uh, think they're probably going to come looking for us soon. But in the meantime, we might have to leave on our own..." she trailed off. Aislin didn't want to leave just yet.
Shikume felt as if he needed to ask Aislin more about what she knew about his sister, but before he could he felt that their friends were close by, "Seems like someone's already here," he said as he turned toward the door.
((Hi everybody, sorry for the wait >.< ))
Aislin followed Shikume towards the door, where Marcus and Yuki were standing at the bottom of the tree. "Hi," she said sheepishly, waving to them. "We'll be right down." She and Shikume descended the rope ladder and jumped to the ground. "Sorry I, uh, took off so fast. Fill us in on what happened?"
nate grimaced. "basically were on our own. jakes grandma isnt going to help actaully she and ithers liek her are help the devil regain his strength. we need to train, figure out what we can do and try to stop the end of the world." nate summed up. he ran a hand through his hair. "basically, this is gonna be one heck of a weekend."
Marcus nodded. "I hope we get a little longer than that..." he sighed. He turned, and waited for the others before heading back to town. He was going to see if he could gather some stuff for the next day. "So let's all get some sleep and start tomorrow." he suggested.
((Okay Jake's sleeping, I'll bring him back in in a little while. Um, next sunday, Agust fourth, i'll be leaving for vacation until agust 18th. Can someone rp Jake while I'm gone?))
((Hey Greek, we'll do a powerplay or something until you're back. Have a nice vacation :D))
"You got that right," Yuki laughed, though her heart wasn't in it. She stared at Shikume and Aislin in concern, wondering what had happened between them, but knowing better not to ask.
Aislin nodded, agreeing with Marcus. "We're going to need some rest for training." She glanced at Shikume momentarily before going on. "I guess it's not looking that great for us right now, but we still hve to try."
((thanks, though I'm not leaving for awhile))
((LOL. Sorry XP))
((where is everyone?! I'd post but, I don't think Jake should be back yet.))
((grr sorry. i might not be posting as frequently for the next week or two. our computer died so my internet acess is going to be limited until we get a new one))
((That's okay :) Take all the time you need, we can wait/post less until everyone's back))
((I'm okay with waiting for everyone.))
((Sorry I'm late guys... But I'm just going to post something if that's cool.))
Marcus waved to the group as he walked away. It was pretty dark out, and streetlamps cast circles of flourescent light on the sidewalks. As he turned a corner, his tail poked out and he let it sway behind him. But, as he turned again, a figure stood before him, about ten yards away. He watched the figure, who held a long object wrapped in a cloak. Marcus tensed as the figure stepped forward and offered him the object. He was skeptical, but he accepted it and stepped back. The figure mirrored him, then suddenly backed up and evaporated into a cloud of smoke. Marcus sighed and walked to his favorite sleeping spot: the harbor. As he lay down in a small boat that was tethered to the dock, he unwrapped the thing he had recieved from the being earlier. He sat up as he unwrapped what looked like a Japanese katana. "Wha?" he murmured. Then he closed his eyes and smiled. This was probably his. He squeezed the hilt, then wrapped the cloak around himself. He lay down to sleep, and morning came quickly.
((That's cool :3 We should get this thing started again anyway :D))
Aislin walked in a dreamscape of mist; a small, auburn fox strode beside her, nine tails twitching in the ghost of a breeze. It opened its mouth and spoke. "So, I assume the prophecy has been delivered?"
"Yeah." Aislin swallowed hard. "Jake's mother made her move, and we're all--"
"They're all," the fox corrected.
"--they're all preparing for the attack."
"Good." The fox sighed in relief and relaxed its tense muscles. "At least now we can rise in peace."
"About that--" Aislin gulped and steadied herself. "I... I'm not sure about all of this."
"Oh, not again." The fox made a sound of exasperation. "There's no room for doubt here. You may not fully be one of us, but when the time comes, you will support us... won't you?"
Aislin thought of Jake, and Yuki, and Nate, and Marcus, and Shikume-- and Krista. She thought of their incredible power potential... and all the secrets she had kept from her friends.
"Yeah." Aislin clenched her fist. "Yeah, I support you all the way."
