Yuki gathered her strength and got ready to leap, but Marcus jumped back down to the grass next to Jake and she sighed, sitting cross-legged on the ground. "We shouldn't hide our abilities, but it could be dangerous, right? I mean, people trying to extort us and all. They would try to use our powers for themselves. I guess that's why you've been keeping it a secret all this time," she murmured, suddenly overwhelmed as she looked around at Shikume, Jake, Marcus and Nate. "It must be so hard. Don't worry, though," Yuki continued, with an encouraging smile. "I won't let this slip, I swear." She flicked one of her ears invitingly. I'm going to have to get used to this, she realized.
Nate coasted in and came to a landing next to Marcus on the ground in front of the tree house. His wings folded loosly beehind his back. It felt so good tonit have to hide them. "so yuki, what do you want to know??'' he asked the newcomer akthough she was beginning to fit in like she had been there all her life
Jake layed down so that his legs were folded underneath himself. He still towered over the others. "Thanks," he whispered to Marcus. Then he turned to Yuki, "Thanks, its not too easy to be this different." He gestured to the group. "But we do have to hide our abilties. People won't try to exort us, but you know, if they get scarred they may try to kill us. Also if they do, our true natures would come out, and they would be killed."
"I've never had any problems with the locals about being seen." Shikume shared. "I've actually done some outside chores for the locals before, and they didn't seem to mind that I was different."
Jake looked over at Shikume supprised. "Really, I didn't know that." Jake paused and went on, "Are you sure they saw your wings, could they simply have not seen them? Like they couldn't seen them?"
"I don't think I completely understand what you are talking about Jake." Shikume said as he turned toward him, "Do you think that the people here can't see that I have wings?"
Yuki pricked her ears at Jake and Shikume's conversation, but soon turned back to Nate. "Okay, so how did you guys all get like this? I mean, I never knew about this--" she stroked her tail-- "until about a half an hour ago, and it's only gotten weirder."
Jake looked at Shikume. "Umm, yea, that mabey they can't see you. It's just a possiblity." Jake swallowed nervously. "This isn't turning into a fight is it?" He asked.
"most of us were born this way. im not really sure what caused it for you. everybody tends to be a little bit different all things deoending. i was born an angel, but managed to get myself kicked out of heaven. marcus has a demon for a father. i want to say jakes parents were both centaurs too but dont quote me on that one." nate explined. Yuki was right, in a way. today was an odd day for all of them with the appearance of lucas but it had to be a lot worse for yuki
"I wouldn't think that this is a fight. We're only having a discussion about our differences and problems that could come from being diferent." Shikume told Jake. "As for why I am the way I am, I never knew my parents and I grew up alone in the forests of Maine," he added interjecting in the conversation with the rest of the group, "One day my wings appeared just in time to save my life." Shikume then flew quickly up into his treehouse and slammed the door.
"Ahh," Marcus sighed, looking at the others, "my backstory's pretty boring, so I won't discuss that. But Lucas' appearance..." he paused. "What month was it last?" he asked Nate. He and Nate had been together last time when he appeared and they fought him, but unfortunately lost. "But with this group," he murmured then looked up. "I dunno. But he usually doesn't come back too soon." Marcus leaned a bit one way and felt a rib crack. "Oww!" he said, biting his lip. He felt his T-shirt and ran his hand across a protruding rib. "Umm... I might stay here tonight," he said. "Little damage to my chest." he managed to stand. "Jeez, it didn't hurt this bad earlier, he complained to himself. "Anyway, I'll meet up with you guys later unless you want me to walk back to town. The only other place to sleep is on a roof or in an alley." he crouched and shot up ten feet to the treehouse branch. He looked up at the setting sun. "Well then, night." he said, waving a hand back.
Jake watched them go. Everyone seemed to be heading in for the night. Jake turned to Yuki. "Hey, I'm going to go for a run. It hasn't been too long since I stretched my legs, but horses are not desioned to lay down for long. Are you all set for the night?" Jake asked potitly, standing up. On a last though he asked, "Hey, do you want to come? Or you Nate?"
((Okay, I've lost track of who is with me, so that invitation is open to anyone who is on the ground with Jake))
Nate smiled. "ill catch up with you in a bit. im gonna go see if marcus wants help healing that rib of his." he said hesitantly. With a od to Yuki, he followed the direction Marcus had disappeared off to. He found him nestked in the crook of a tree branch. " Want help with that??" Nate offered.
Marcus grinned at his friend. "Sure, see what you can do." he said. With him being part demon and Nate technically being an angel still, you'd think that they wouldn't get along, but they felt a kinship with each other. Marcus thought back to earlier's fight. He paused and held up a hand to Nate. He then stood, leaned over the branch, and yelled down to Jake. "Yo!" he said. "Would you two walk each other back to where you're going to go. Sorry to be a pain, but I think we should stay in groups mostly, especially at night." He sat back and yelled, "Thanks," before relaxing. "So," he nodded at Nate. "What can you do for it?"
(( May I possibly join? ))
((I think so.))
Nate leaned over an checked the wound. The rib was cracked and twisted around. He winced. "Please tell me the other guy looks worse. 'Cause this is pretty awful." He said frowning. Nate reached out to touch the bone then hesitated. "May I?" When Marcus nodded, Nate laid his hand over the wound and muttered something under his breath. Nates hand began to glow bright white and he laid it on Marcus's side. Slowly, the bone realigned itself and the sinew and muscle knitted back together. When the wound was closed, Nate lowered his hand and it faded to normal. "There. Should be good. But don't go taking on Lucas again for another day or so"
((Go ahead, Prince-Austin :) )) Yuki watched, wide-eyed, as her friends told their story. "Wow," she said, as they stood up. Nate was still kneeling next to Marcus, checking out his rib injury. "So, are you all heading home? I guess it's getting late." ((So sorry for the late reply))
Name: Turkey Fallow
Species: Half Breed. He has wings colored like a turkey's would be and a turkey tail. He learned a spell a while back to conceal his wings and tail from who ever he did not want to see his turkey parts.
Appearance: He has thick wavy dirty blonde hair which reaches to the start of his neck. Turkey's eyes are a dark green that remind you of the forest. Turkey height is 5'11 and he is thin. He has a slight tan but is white. His wings are a light brown with white tips. His tail is light brown with speckled white and white at the end of the feathers.
Personality: Turkey is very playful and can often be a flirt. He often can be rowdy though and gets into fights. Occisionanlly Turkey will boast about previous feats of his and exegerate about them and people will disagree with him and this is how some of his fights start.
Marcus gave a sigh of relief. "Thanks man," he said. "That helped a lot." He looked down the tree again. "Maybe we should warn Yuki about the lesser demons." he mentioned.
Turkey yawned and tossed a rasberry into his mouth. He chewed on it and glanced to the side of his hammock that was hanging off the side of a tree and the tree holding a tree house that all the "special" people would hang out. Turkey sighed as he saw the stars starting to slowly twinkle across the sky. He rolled out the hammock and stretched. No one had even noticed his presence there. "Anyone else going home" He asked loudly towards the group that were scattered around.
