Resa nodded. "Well lead the way."
He pointed down the rode. ""Straight."
Resa crossed her arms. "Take. The. Lead." She told him. "I follow you, and the horse follows me. You don't have to be near it."
Fine. He stated matching down the rode, passing the men laying across the ground.
Resa followed, and Dart followed behind them. She came beside Beck. "So what's your problem with horses, exactly?"
He kept his eyes on the rode and dismissed her question.
(Road, rode is the past tense of ride :P )
Resa nudged him. "I need to know. This affects the hero thing."
He groaned. "Just, never liked them."
"Why not?" Resa pressed.
"They're big and strong... And can kick."
Resa rolled her eyes. "So you are scared of them."
He glared at her and his nose flared. "I never said that."
"No, you didn't but it's obvious you're scared of horses." Resa said with a shrug. "Dragons are big and can kick too. They can also burn you to a crisp, eat you, imprison you, and kill you in several other ways that a horse can't."
He glared at her angrily and trudged further forward.
Resa smirked. "Beck, part of a hero is image. And fearlessness. If you act like this about horses, it'll have a strong effect on your image.
"Acting, that's what I do..."
Resa walked beside him again. "Look, if you can establish enough reputation, ypu might get followers. Followers who want to be heroes like you. Followers who will face dragons as your side."
He laughed and looked at her. "Ya the majority a bunch of toddlers."
Resa punched him in the arm, hard enough to hurt. "I'm serious! I know what I'm talking about!"
He recoiled and glared at her murderously.
