((alrighty here we go))

A few new Trainees had just been sent out for the war. Some of them were a lot youner than usual, but really, the Mentors were taking anything they could get then. Avon had only been twelve when he was brought in as a Trainee, and now he was one of the best Mentors. But that didn't mean he was a nice person. The room he stood in was filled wth the new Trainees, and they were to be assigned their Mentors. The training sessions were one-on-one, so that way the Mentors could play on the Trainees' strengths and weaknesses.

Avon glanced at all of the Trainees, his glare cold, as usual. "Do any of you have a preference as to which Mentor you get? Even if you do, you might not get that Mentor. That depends on what mood I'm in."

Kayla just looked at him slightly put off. Wow... someone got up on the wrong side of the bed.

Kayla bounced on the souls of her feet. She wanted to get started! Taking a breath she stopped her bounceing. These are serious people and most likely would not like a ten year old jumping in their faces.

Avon sort of glared at the bouncing girl. Her enthusiasm confused him. Why on earth would a young person be excited about this war?

"Stop that," he commanded flatly.

"Can we get started?" Kayla asked her eyes filled with excitment. Then she took a deap breath and stopped her bounging. "Yes, Sir!" She said, biting her cheek to stop from giggling. Kayla just loved to be a part of things.

Shana ignored the bouncing girl, annoyed. She raised an eyebrow and said, "I want YOU to be my Mentor" to the bossy one up front. She always liked a challenge.

Kayla glanced sideways at the girl. Why would she want the grouchy one up front as her mentor? She looked at Avon to catch his responce.

Dimitri stayed silent, as serious faced as always. He stood completely still, watching the world with serious, pale eyes. His arms stayed straight down by his sides, stiff, restrained. He watched and he waited.

Kalya looked at the stiff boy in the corner. Jeez, everyone is so serious. She thought. Kayla knew she should be too, but, really they weren't fighting, so why be serious?
