Alina followed Jack and the others, careful to keep out of the way. She kept a wary eye out for trouble, and this time kept her knives at the ready. She wouldn't let her guard down again.
Name: Chance Sullivan
Appearance: Short, Chance is short and has a broad build, her shoulder are wider than most and she's lightly muscled, just enough so it shows she has good muscle tone, but enough to be counted as extremely buff. Her skin is a very light tan, it has a warm glow to it, yet it's not exactly tan or brown, or white for that matter. She has extremely pale, hard to see freckles on her cheeks and nose. She also has a scar running from her left ear to the left corner of her mouth. She has other scars on her body, the one on her face though is the most noticeable and slightly elevated and thick. Her back is also covered in scars
Chance's hair is a very dark brown and is slightly curly, it goes to the nape of her neck in a short of pixie cut and hangs over her forehead and ears too, almost like a more feminine version of a hobbit type hair do. Her eyes are a very light gray blue and look surprising pale. There are then flecks of a darker-gray in them though. She has normal facial features, a small nose, normal ears, and palish pink lip. She usually has her lips pressed together in a thin line, but sometimes she shows her slightly crooked teeth in a rebelious smile.
Chance wears a set of pale denim bib overalls with holes in the knees, the overalls are obviously really old and obvious pass=me don, they have frayed cuffs and one of the clasps that hold the overall straps to the shoulder is broken and hangs down her back. She has a dirty white t-shirt with sweat stains and dirt smears all over it as well as dirt all over her overalls. Her shirt has a rip in the collar so it shows her throat and collar bone and almost goes down to the beginning of the top of her overalls. She has an old brown cow boy that's perched on her head so that the brim shades her face. It's made of a sort of brown felt matrial and also looks extremely old and dirty. Her shoes are tan work boots that have frayed laces, all her clothes are pass-me downs so all look really old and beat up. She has a piece of rope tied around her waist with knife sheaths attached to it.
Personality: Chance is a tough rebel, she is also reckless and doesn't think before she acts of speaks. She has a quick temper and is very quick to get into fights. She's strong willed and always seems to be getting trouble. Some people think she's insane because she'll smile while getting punished as long as she's getting punish for doing something she thought was right. She's fighter and live by her own set of rules and morals. She is loyal to her siblings and if she had any friend she'd be loyal to them. Since she was raised rather violently Chance has a tendency towards violence. She's not not-social, buts he doesn't have any friends except for her siblings because people are afraid if they're around her they'll get into trouble. She has a very strong sense of justice and if she believes someone wasn't punish justly she'll make sure they're punished again, and correctly this time. Chance isn't what you'd call friendly or kind, she'll make friends if she can but she'll also be fine running around on her own. She's tough as nails and doesn't let people see things she feels. She's also tough on people hating wimps.

((Is she OK, Sorla?))
((Yeah, how bout the group finds her in the woods.))
Chance squatted in the woods, she was sharpening her long knife a stone adn listening. She'd been in the Badlands for a couples day now and still wans't sure if she was being followed by Texas Theocracy officails. Itw as generally forwned upon to run away without permission, but then again they could not care if a rebelious troyble making 16 year old ran away, so she could be safe.
Chance looked up from her work and looked around, slowly grinding the blade of her knife against the stone to sharpen it as she did so.
Jack paused in his footsteps as he heard a sound. It was a slight scraping sound, made faint by the forest. He stopped moving for a full minute before he started moving again. Only he wasn't walking in the same direction he had been before. He walked over to a tall tree and didn't even hesitate before starting to climb it. If he could go up high, he would be able to see what was making the noise without getting too close to it.
Alina heard a noise and watched as Jack scrambled up a tree. Obviously he'd heard it too. She prepared for some sort of fight, spanning out to the side so she was in the open, spaced away from the group.
Cassidy stares as Jack climbs up the side of a tree like a cat. She wishes that they could get him a rifle, Jack is a good shot and would probably be very helpful as a sniper. The scraping noise is faint, but it's clearly a person. She draws her blades silently and creeps forward as Jack gets into position. Cassidy is ready to attack, she doesn't fight for fun, Cassidy is a one strike killer, but when she caught sight of the mystery person, she falters. The girl is a teenager, small and scrappy, and appears to be totally harmless, but the teenager will probably feel threatened and attack anyways. Cassidy slides her blades back into her belt, to make it clear she isn't about to attack. If the girl comes after her, Jack will probably shoot her.
Jack peered down from his place on a high branch in the tree. He looked completely balanced an comfortable up in it's height as he noched an arrow. He aimed his bow carefully. If anything, he looked more comfortable up in the tree than he did walking on solid ground.
Alina crept forward, shifting into a half- crouch, feral, and then paused when she saw it was a girl, her age, with scars all over her body. Her guard instantly came back up. The girl obviously got in a lot of fights...
Cassidy offers the girl a smile, but it's forced and looks more like a grimace. She isn't all that good with people she's learned. Desmond steps forward and nods at the girl. "Hello." He says. "What are you doing out here alone? It's dangerous." Desmond says, stopping a good distance away from her, not wanting to get a rusty knife in the gut, or have to hurt her.
Looking down at the girl, Jack lowered his bow by a centimeter. Then, he raised it again, silently cursing himself in his head. She doesn't even look like Rose at all, you idiot! Stop being a weak in the knees daisy face every time you see a girl the same age! He shook his head, trying to clear away the thoughts. He took aim again, ready to fire if needed.
Chance rose into a crouched position when she saw the other teen agers near her, she gripped her knife handle tightly adn curled her fingers around her rock, ready to throw it if needed.
Chance wans't sure she wanted to tell these people what she was doing, after all the looked dangerous and it would be three to one, or four to one if the person she sensed in the tree above her wans't a figment of her imagination.
"What's life with out danger?" she asked in response to the guy's question, it was re torical question she aksed, not meant to be answered. Chance was tense ready to fight if need be those these people were keeping their distance and didn't seem to have any weapons drawn on her.
Alina lowered her knives and straightened back up. "We mean you no harm," she said calmly. "As long as you mean US no harm..."
Cassidy smiled at the girl's answer. "Amen." She said with a grin. She noticed how the girl was gripping a rock along with her knife, ready to spring. The girl had an accent from further south. Cassidy guessed she was from Texas, or maybe Florida. What was she doing out here all alone? Cassidy had great respect for people who traveled to the Badlands by themselves, it showed courage and tenacity, something that was uncommon in a lot of the villages and cities. "Do ya live here? We're just passin through."
Chance snickered slightly and teh corner of her mouth turned up,
"Do I sound like I'm from here?" she asked half sarcasticly half seriously. She watched the rest of the group and glanced up at the guy in the trees, she felt something being aiemd at her up there, but couldn't quite figure out what.
Cahnce turned back to the others in the group,
"What y'all doin' here?" she asked, still not trusting them.
Alina glanced at Cassidy. "We're...looking for a friend, is all." She said no more. She was restless, and wanted to be on the way, yet this girl intrigued her. She looked positively wild. The look in her eyes reminded Alina of her father....and instantly she felt bad for comparing this girl to her psycopath of a father.
Jack lowered his bow as they talked to the girl. He still held it up, ready to aim and fire if he was told to. But he lowered it. She didn't seem like she wanted to hurt them. But he knew better than most that looks were deceiving sometimes.
((Hey I gots me a question, may I make a nother charrie? I'd post him/her later today...just askin' if ya say no that's k with me.))
Chance straightened and stood up, still tense though,
"What friend?" she asked nosily, she wanted to know if she could trust or at least a little trust these people. She still thought they may be spies or very young merceneries come to drag her back. SH eglanced up again,
"And if you want to answer any of ya questions git that boy up in the trees down, I ain't answering questions with a thingy-ma-gigger aimed at my back." she added.
"No, we're just going to California." Cassidy said with a shrug. "Ain't got no friends out here. And that's just Jack." Cassidy said glancing up into the tree. "He won't hurt you unless he finds reason to, and he's a good judge of character." Desmond pushed to the front of the group and held his hands out placatingly. "If you're heading west, you're welcome to join us." He said. It was always safer to travel in groups.
