"Nice." Ani smiled, looks as if she made a good choice in protector. She kept waking through the jungle, letting him stay in the lead.
Cole walked through the dense jungle-forest-wild or whatever it was. He swept away huge leaves and branches. Eventually-when he was exausted- Cole walked through a clearing. He came to a clear stream. He knelt down by it and put his hand in the water. The current was fast. "Good, looks like we can drink it." He tasted the water before drinking it.
Ani cupped her hands to take a drink of the water, she then thought for a second, now she could use her powers however much she wanted... She stood up then started to walk over a area of unbloomed flowers, making flowers grow as she stepped, leaving a path. "Okay that's really cool." She stated turning around to look at the white path she had made.
"I wonder..." Ani murmured as she approached a bush, she touched it lightly so that small black berries grew on it. She looked at it, 'humph didn't know I could do that' So she could influence things to grow very well... What about to not grow?
Ani reached out to a tree thinking one thing, 'die' the tree's leaves suddenly lost all color and turned to a brown, then fell on top of her head covering her. Okay, so she knew how that worked now.
She walked over to the river, sticking her hand into its cool water, she wondered just how much control she had over other things. Plants would likely be the easiest for they had no thoughts of there own, how much harder would a animal be?
Cole observed Ani as he was drinking water. She appeared to be influencing the state of being. She touched a plant an it grew, she touched a tree and it withered. "Hmm. Looks like you can give or take life force."
"I just influence it to do what I want." Ani satated. "Plants have no thoughts of there own so it's very simple." She traced her hand in the water. "I wonder how well it works on fish..."
"Hmm, it probably works on fishes too." Cole said. "They have simple thoughts, living by their senses."
"Yea, likely." Ani acted to be deep in thought, she knew it worked on fish, she knew she could override thoughts. It worked on humans. Though she had to keep up her act. "I can't get it to work... I guess it will take practice..." She said with fake sadness. Ha! Take work? She could control anything almost nor at least give them a influence to do what she wanted. Or at least think what she wanted them to think.
Cole picked out Ani's lie. He decided not to notice it. "Ah, well. I bet you can develop your powers, at first when I got mine all I could do was make a tiny spark." He said cheerfully.
"Maybe I'm just not trying enough? Like I don't want to be able to do it.... Like I wish I was normal..." She sighed sitting in a patch of now white flowers.
"Eh, we all learn to except it." Cole said, "our powers. They're a gift for us. Who knows where it came from? It could've been God, an Alien, or just by some random chance. Point is though, we are who we act and what we do with our options." Cole said absently.
"I guess, though its likely just something random. I don't think I'm a 'chosen one' so to speak. I feel as if its a big mistake for me to have powers. Like I'm some evil creature, a freak of nature. A freak in charge of nature almost. I mess up the natural balance of things..." As Ani spoke the flowers around her slowly starter to wilt. It was as if her emotions herself had more control over her power than she did. That made since, for emotional influence to be controlled by her own emotions. The only ones she couldn't control.
Ayden stopped, he had been hunting for a while now, and he was getting thirsty. He noticed a stream, and knelt down to take a drink. But as he guzzled the cool, crystal liquid; he caught a scent. He could feel the beast rising to the surface, and he knew that if he didn't feed soon, he would loose control. All at once, he sprinted down stream, swinging off branches and vaulting over rocks. As he neared his destination, he started to notice something familiar about the scent; something unusual. But no matter. Whatever it was, it would help him keep the beast under control and that was all that mattered. One final swing from a vine left him hurtling over a bunching of foliage and onto the creature he had been tracking; knocking it to the ground, and pinning its limbs. Then he realised what had been so familiar about the scent. It was human. The creature he had pinned to the floor was a girl. And a very pretty girl at that. But that was the last thought he had before he lost control, and the beast started to surface. He was straining every muscle in his body to try and stop himself. But it was no use. He started to change, ready for what lay ahead. ((Ok, so the girl is Ani. Sorry if this was a drastic way to introduce my character.))
((Haha, that's fine.))
A man pounced on top of Ani, Cole rushed and slammed the man over. Cole landed on top of the man. He pushed his hand on the ground a few feet away and he willed the ground to explode weakly. "Did you see that? I can do it to you, except I can make your whole head blow up."
Ani screamed as something pounced ontop of her, a boy? She then felt him being tossed off of her, Cole saved her. I guess it was a good thing she chose him after all. She heard the threat Cole said as she jumped up from the ground, standing behind him shaking in fear.
Ayden looked up at the man on top of him. The last face he saw before the beast took control. His bones cracked and his skin ripped, as he changed into a the monster he so passionately despised. The beast lay still, grasping control of his body. Then he struck. Launching the man of his body, and into the water behind. Dangerous.. thought the beast. He had seen what Cole could do. He lept up and growled at the girl, slowly circling them.
Cole was thrown into the water. He quickly got back up but slipped on the rocks. He crawled out and stood up quickly before tackling the man.
The beast lept out of the way as the man ran for him, quicky making a b-line for the girl whose scent he had been hunting. He grabbed her and lept into the high foliage, far out of reach for the girls defender. He took a long, deep breath in the girls face; and bore his dagger like teeth.
Ani thought only one thing 'sleep' she tried to convince the beast how sleepy he was, how he needed to sleep, how rest was all he wanted. She was slightly afraid it wouldn't work for once as he breathed in her face.
The beast prepared to take a chunk out of the girl, when suddenly he had an overwhelming erge to..sleep. No it thought, trying to resist. Kill, only..kill... with that thought the beast disapeared, returning control to Ayden. Ayden looked in horror at the girl, then at the tree he was precariously perched in. He could still feel the beast inside. It was clawing at his mind, desperately trying escape once more; but to no avail. For the first time, Ayden was in control. But for how long? He looked once more at the girl, and with a sore, raspy voice, managed but one word. "How?" He collapsed onto the girl, completely unconcious.
Cole hit the tree at full speed, he fell down to the grown for a moment. He was dazed and seeing stars. Then Cole strained to stand up. He rushed towards the man and pulled him off of Ani again. This time Cole pushed him down and put his knee on the man's neck, robbing him of his airsupply.
