Cole ran away and he looked back at the treehouse. Just as he entered the thick cover of the jungle, he saw men enter the clearing. Cole silently cursed as he ran.
Ani just ran faster twirls the center of the island.
Some time later, Cole heard their treehouse explode. He kept back sorrow for his home and ran as if nothing happened.
Ani didn't give the explosen a thought. It didnt matter. She clenched her side tightly for a second keeping up her run.
About a couple of hours later, Cole stopped, "that should be good for now." He eyed the sun and judged the distance from the sun to the horizon. "It looks like it's going to be dark soon. Can you make some shelter?"
"Yes." Ani said quickly making a fort like structure like the first night.
"Good." Cole waited. "I'll be laying around some traps." He wandered off into the forest and put his palm on the ground. He quickly set his traps before coming back to Ani.
Ani was already sitting down inside the fort playing with a sprout.
Cole rubbed his eyes, he felt tired. "I'm going to sleep." He laid down in the tent and closed his eyes.
"Night night! Don't let the vines bite!" Ani debased causing a vine to wrap around his leg holding him in place.
Cole slept through all the ruckus, he was so tired he wasn't even the slightest aware of the vine wrapping around his leg.
Ani rolled her eyes, then had the vines make her a hammock as she laughed softly to herself cuddling into it and going to sleep.
Cole slept until morning, he wasn't even aware that his traps had blown up. When he awoke some stranger was standing there. He looked at Cole with a passive face. One that said, I'm cool and I'm going to capture you. Cole stumbled about and the man threw a punch at him. Cole barely had time to dodge the fist and he immediately countered the man by grabbing onto his arm and Cole kneed the man only to be stopped by the man's left hand. Cole looked at the man in amazement before he was thrown back.
Ani woke when she heard a noise, "Cole? What was that? Traps?" She asked and he only murmured something and ignored her. She looked at him strange then still in a sleepy daze herself drifted back to sleep.
When Ani woke again it was right about the time Cole tried to knee the man. She screeched a little instantly dropping to the ground.
Cole took a few seconds to recover from the throw. He shook himself and looked at the man. Within a few seconds he came to a conclusion that the man had super strength and speed. Cole chuckled, "what's your name?"
The man took a minute to answer, "Jack... The ripper."
Cole raised an eyebrow, "well, nice to meet you. My name's Cole..." He continued akwardly, "well, I guess your out here to kill us?"
Again Jack took a few minutes, "yes."
"Then what are you wasting your time for?" Cole provoked Jack. "I mean, if your Jack the Ripper then why haven't you killed us already?" This time Cole laughed harshly, "slowpoke." Cole hoped this would aggrivate Jack and it worked out... Well, sort of.
Jack dashed inhumanely at Cole. Cole barely avoided Jack's beastly charge and was almost swept aside by the wind that Jack's running generated.
Jack turned to Cole and sent a fist to his face. Cole chose to block it and he was thrown back with immense power. He rolled in the dirt and managed to stablize himself by punching his fist into the ground.
Cole stood up and pain coursed through his body. His hand was bloody with scratches from the dirt. Instinctively, Cole made the ground from where he touched blow up. This created a diversion. "Ani! Run!" He yelled out.
