In modern day society, vampires exist in secrecy and follow strict laws. For quite some time, the vampires have agreed with most laws. But now, more and more vampires are breaking the laws and drinking blood. One night you wake up, your vision is much clearer, you possess much more strength, your skin is like iron, you can run infinitely, and much much more. You are now a vampire.
Laws of the vampires
1. Do not expose our existence to humanity.
2. Do not kill humans.
3. Do not kill fellow vampires.

Rai strolled along the dark rainy streets of another version of New, York. He looked up into the cloudy sky.
The backstreets of New York was where Mary found her prey. Today's man was named Andrew Jacoby, also known as Crack Andy.
Mary had studied this one and knew his type. Not a big guy, but big enough to physically dominate a high skinny girl under twenty. Not a smart guy, but smart enough to know when to run from other people in his dirty business...and when to hide. Not a wimpy guy, but Mary knew from experience that it was his type that screamed the loudest.
She perched herself by a lampost and when she saw his car approaching, she poked her leg out of her long trench coat ever so slightly. Sure enough, the car slowed and Mary saw a flash of his devilish smile she knew all too well.
Too easy. She thought as she got in the passenger seat.
Rai saw a girl go into a car. Immediately he knew she was a vampire. He used his vampire sight to look at the driver inside. A human, of course. The girl vampire was probably going to kill him. Rai sighed. He put up an illusion to make the car stop before it could go anywhere. A police car honked at the car. A man yelled that they were going to have to get a ticket. Rai walked towards the car.
Cody strung his crossbow and peered out of the alley. He had been tracking this vampire for about a week. She didn't look that dangerous or intimidating, but she was crafty, and left a trail of bodies Dracula would be jealous of. It didn't matter that she killed criminals, she was still killing, and she had to go. He caught a glimpse of her fiery red hair as she slipped into a car. Cody scowled and slid the crossbow into his coat as he left the shadows. That was when he saw Rai. Cody didn't really know the elder personally, but he wasn't a killer. What was he doing here? "She ain't yours, right?" Cody asked Raizel as he fell into step beside him. The last thing he needed was to behead an elder's child, but if Rai was Mary's maker, he probably should've been doing a better job reining her in anyways.
Things for Mary began to go great...until the car stopped.
Rai..I should have known.
While she let Crack Andy slide his hand beneath her thighs, she kept her eyes on the road as Raizel began to approach. But strangely he was not alone...
Patience is a virtue. thought Mary. And timing is of the essence for this escape.
Emily steps out of the shadows, pushingher white blonde hair out of her eyes with one hnd while she spun a knife in th other. Of course, she was merely testin the waters at the moment, so to speak. Bad timing, Em... Vry, very bad timing, she thinks to herself, pausing well away from the others, content to watch unnoticed for the time being.
Caroline sat back in the shadows of the alley, watching the busy streets of New York. She was looking at the world through new eyes. She was new to this. She wasn't exactly sure how it worked. The whole vampire hunter thing. But, she would figure it out eventually.
As Rai and the stranger began to approach the car, Mary closed her eyes and searched any lingering thoughts that meant danger to her.
There are two main ways Mary can search thoughts. The first is by simply channeling the person. Right now Crack Andy's would be the easiest to read because he's so close and his mind lacks...complexity.
The second is by channeling thoughts. This is useful in situations (much like this one) where Mary senses danger. Right now Mary just needs to search for two words in the thoughts.
Within seconds her mind was alerted that she was surrounded by them. She realized she would need to escape now.
"Sorry Andy, it's been fun." she said as she pushed him off of her.
Mary quickly bit his neck and cringed as his screams echoed out of the car.
Without hesitation, she opened the sunroof of the car and jumped out. Like a monkey she swung up onto a lampost and jumped onto the building. She climbed the building and was at the top running and jumping from building to building in seconds.
"Dam.n!" Rai shouted, "no she isn't mine Cody. I was tailing her because she might have something I need." He dashed towards Mary and broke the windows. It was too late now, but he dragged Mary out with his vampiric powers.
After a lot of running and jumping over alleys from building to building, Mary finally arrived on the rooftop of a bank.
She looked below and saw an ambulance and some police cars heading the direction she just arrived from. She pulled out her tiny mirror from her pocket and looked in her reflection. She noticed there was a bit of blood splattered on the side her pale face. She decided she should clean it out and sort her thoughts when she arrives at her out of state safe house.
So without hesitation, Mary continued running south from building to building.
