Darcy frowned, looking out one of th large windows in the cafeteria at all the smiling children who got to go home. She looked back down at her plate full of food and nudged out away from her chest, not feeling hungry.

Jakob looked down at the floor as he walked. He mumbled to himself as he counted his footsteps carefully.
113...114...115...
He held his book tightly to his chest as he stepped along, moving in a perfectly straight line. It was spring break, so now there weren't as many people to bump him out of line, not as many people to accidentally touch him. He sighed sadly.

Sighing, Darcy picked up her tray and carried to the window where the dirt dishes go and sat it in the counter. Then she left the cafeteria to roam the halls. Andrew's was a decent sized school, small to those who had been here as long as Darcy had, huge to those who had never been here or who had just arrived. Darcy enjoyed knowing that in some ways she was an elder at the Academy and people looked up to here. Not that her many years here had helped her at all. She still had bouts of anorexia on and off and her depression was a bad as it had always been. Maybe even worse now with the chemo.

143...144...145...
Jakob shifted his books ever so slightly in his arms. He didn't need to glance up to know when to turn the corner. He had walked through this hallway long enough, counted out all of the steps every day.
Alone. Always alone.
151...
He stopped in his tracks, the way he always did, and reached into his pocket for his tiny bottle of hand sanitizer.

Darcy turned the corner. Her gait was even and slow. Almost lazy. Her fuzzy head of blonde hair only about a centimeter long a little cold in the chilly spring air that flowed in through open windows. She looked up at the boy who's feet she had seen seconds before as she had been looking at the ground. She'd seen him before. He was odd, OCD she supposed. That usually what the odd people had. She watched him put hand sanitizer in his hands. Definitely OCD.

Jakob rubbed his hands together, precisely five times one way, five the other before carefully pushing the hand sanitizer into his pocket and continuing on his straight path.

Darcy continued to walk on, straight towards the boy. Eventually they would end up colliding if one did not move and she had no plans of moving off her course.

157...158...15-
Jakob had to stop in his tracks when he realized someone was walking towards him, right in his path. He stopped mid-step and stood there, head still down as he waited for the person to move out of his straight line, his path.

The boy had stopped, but Darcy kept going, a smirk appearing in her face. She would end up running him over if he didn't move, and that's exactly what she planned to do.

Jakob stayed where he was. He started to tremble a little as panic began to creep into the pit of his stomach. The person didn't move or stop, they kept going. He panicked a little more. He couldn't step aside. That would break his straight line. He couldn't do that. He started to hyperventilate a little.

Jakob looked up, his panic showing in his eyes as he looked towards the person. It was a girl, walking towards him with a look on her face that suggested she wasn't going to move. He hyperventilated faster. He couldn't let her touch him, but he couldn't break his straight line. He froze in place, eyes going wide.
