Rai bursted out into a laughter, then he stopped after a couple of minutes. Rai looked at Eliza.
"I odda kill you and the bird of fluff." Eliza huffed crossing her arms. "And I don't need scars to impress him more than you would any girl." She said her face no longer it's glowing red.
Rai scoffed, "you can't kill me, heck I can't even kill myself." Rai thought back to before he became the grim reaper. He remembered the girl he loved, how she sacrificed herself so Rai could turn into the grim reaper. Rai closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Oh yea, right. But I can still kill the bird..." Eliza noticed that he didn't reply to her comment, 'I win!' Her head chimed.
Ivanhoe had wandered back to the horses, keeping his distance. This girl was creepier then a cursed grave yard. "We gonna get goin soon? We only have a few good hours of daylight left, and we should get out of this area by the time it gets dark." Bandits loved to stick to the edges of cities and towns, not to mention the plague. Ivanhoe had run into multiple blood suckers this week, and he could typically go years without seeing one.
"If your worried about bandits that come around here then you have a very distorted thought. If you haven't noticed I tend to be able to raise a army of the undead. Anyway bandits are not all bad, a few are quite s.exy." Eliza glanced over at the bird again. Did it ever take a breath?
Ivanhoe laughed darkly and shook his head. They would find out soon enough. He looked in his bag and took out a small vial of black liquid, dipping his arrows in the jar. "It ain't the bandits I'm worried about." He said.
"Then what is it?" Eliza asked, "do me a favor and shoot that darn bird would you?" She glanced back at the fluffy yellow feather covered creature.
"The undead. Blood suckers. Can only kill them by beheading, and magic don't effect them." Ivanhoe said, putting his crossbow together. "I got some vampiric poison from an alchemist, slows em down some so you can chop off their heads." Ivanhoe glanced at the bird and shook his head. "And I'm not shooting that bird for being a bird, ask me again when I'm hungry."
"Please shoot the bird?" Eliza tried, "if you want I'll kill it myself but I don't feel like using a spell on it. And if you haven't noticed the undead is sort of my thing." Eliza added the last part, what was the big deal about the undead? They were kind of all she had.
"I don't think you understand. These people start out people, they get drained, they ain't people no more. They go around spreading their disease and killing everything in their way. I don't know how they work, or why, but I do know they're dangerous and only hunt at night. They have red or black eyes and these gruesome teeth and they're quicker and stronger then they look by a long shot." Ivanhoe said, mounting the horse. "And I would really rather be away from civilization by nightfall. They smell blood, and congregate by cities."
"Okay, we will get out of here." Eliza said, clearly he didn't get that she could raise the dead. Though she couldnt protect them, only herself. She walked over to the bird who was still singing on a low branch. She said something to quite for them to hear and it dropped to the ground. Then in a hushed voice she said something else and it arose again, now the yellow was mixed with a black shade in it seeping from the bace of the feathers. "Now that's a bird."
Rai wasn't paying attention to the conversation. He paying attention to the dark figure that lingered in the shadows. Rai walked towards the figure and he found out who it was, it was his lover. His face turned white. Then a huge door came crashing down and made a loud crack. He looked at Eliza and Ferus. They didn't seem to notice anything.
Eliza didn't notice anything as she stood and walked back over the undead bird following her. "Rai?" She said not seeing him anywhere.
Rai was trapped in his own illusion, his nightmare. A hallucination. He sat on the ground when the world turned dark and all he could hear was the screams of he.ll.
Eliza didn't see him anywhere, "hello?" She shouted walking closer to him without knowing. "Where are you?" She asked as the newly created bird followed her.
Rai was in his hallucination when Eliza called out to him. He got up and looked ashen, "I'm right here." His voice was hoarce.
"What....what happened?" Eliza asked worriedly. He looked ashen, like he had seen something.
"Nothing." Was all Rai could say. He walked away.
"Okay?" Eliza said then followed him slowly, what was he planing?
