Jace was surprised that Tom seemed so attached to him. He wasn't going to complain though. "I'm not going anywhere." the kiss to his wrist made Jace's cheeks blush faintly and he was happy Tom had his eyes closed. "Just sleep." Jace murmured. He pulled the other male up so he was holding him, not sure why Tom always wanted to lay in a weird position with him. Jace ran his fingers through Tom's hair in a gentle way and kissed his temple. "I'll be right here when you wake up." he promised starting to feel tired himself.

Tom burrowed his head under Jace's arm so he was surrounded with his scent. He sighed happily as Jace started to run his fingers through his hair. He didn't know how he had managed to get so lucky, but thinking about it just hurt, so he decided not to. He knew deep down that the other vampires would blame him for their maker's death, and there would be he.ll to pay, but it didn't matter at the moment. He had Jace. Tom soon fell into a deep sleep under Jace's hand.

While Tom slept Jace watched him realizing that he didn't nor could he let the male get hurt. He'd protect Tom at any cost. Inside he knew that meant that Tom would become his charge which would be looked down upon but he didn't care. Whatever would come at Tom Jace would face. The vampires that would come, if they came, would be no match for Jace because that's just what they were: vampires. Jace was a hybrid and that was greater than any vampire.

Tom had no idea how long he slept, but he had a dream that started out very pleasant. Warmth and sun, the feel of grass tickling his paws. Rain on his skin and the smell of prey darting through the bushes. Tom pounced and chased after the rabbit, grabbing it by its throat and snapping its neck, but before he could enjoy his meal, everything changed. Darkness, blood, cold, pain, stop! No more! No more! Tom woke with a start, drenched in cold sweat and shivering. He found himself in Jace's bed, it had all been a dream. Tom quickly wiped the tears away and tried to settle back down before Jace saw him.

Jace's nightmares didn't came at least every other night but since he'd been sleeping in the same bed as Tom they'd stayed away completely. The hybrid's eyes flew open when he sensed Tom. "You okay?" he whispered rubbing Tom's back gently. He pulled Tom closer to his chest when the wolf laid back down. "It's okay." he whispered figuring he'd had some sort of dream. Jace wiped away some of the stray tears Tom had missed obviously okay with him crying.

Tom didn't respond, he just focused on calming down until the trembling stopped. He sank into Jace's chest, reveling the closeness and warmth. Tom's breathing eventually went back to normal, and he hid his face against the hybrid's collar bone when Jace wiped away his tears. "Sorry." He said, voice muffled against Jace's skin.

"For what?" Jace chuckled lowly nosing his way to Tom's lips so he could kiss him tenderly. "You're entitled to cry. You are still human." he murmured as he rubbed Tom's lower back. Jace didn't mind that Tom cried and he certainly wasn't going to make fun of him. "Are you okay though? Did you have a bad dream?" Jace asked in a concerned voice, using one hair to make sure he got all of Tom's tears while the other continued to rub his lower back.

Tom kissed Jace back lightly. He didn't like feeling vulnerable in any way. The only way he had made it this long was by not showing any weakness. Jace didn't seem to mind though. Tom nodded slowly, he was ok for the most part. Being around Jace these past few days had done a lot for him. Tom found himself to be less nervous and suspicious. "I have nightmares sometimes, for a few years now." Tom said, settling back down against Jace's chest, wanting to get as close as possible.

"We have that in common." Jace murmured when Tom shared some of himself. Jace never talked to anyone about his personal issues so this felt very odd for him. He wanted Tom to know about him in a way though so he continued talking. "Have at least every other night since I could remember. But... I haven't in these past few days... Because well I think it's because of you. You um help me..." he spoke quietly clearly out of his comfort zone.
May 17 at 4:10 pm
"I'm glad I can help." Tom said with a soft smile, hand running up and down Jace's side absent minded. He could tell Jace wasn't used to talking to others, just like him. Both of them, their only options were to stay strong or get eaten alive. "At least we don't have to be alone anymore." He added.

The way Tom phrased what he'd said made Jace's insides twist. He didn't want to be a last resort or a convinence which is how Tom had made him out to be. "Yeah. I guess that's true." he mumbled growing distant. He didn't undstand why but he really liked Tom and he wanted the feelings to be mutual. Jace was too much of a passive person to really tell the other male how he felt though so he just went silent.
Tom sensed Jace's discomfort and whined low in his throat before he caught himself. He was always very in tune to how others were feeling, he had no choice. "What's wrong?" He asked a little anxiously. Was it something he did? Something he said? Tom slid away from Jace to the other end of the bed, making sure to bare his throat, just in case he did something wrong.

Jace's brows furrowed and he frowned. "Tom.." he said in a calm voice moving down to where he was. "Dont... Please don't treat me like a master or something. I won't punish you when I'm upset.. No matter how much I want to." Jace mumbled the ending, pulling Tom into his arms. Jace bit his bottom lip knowing he had issues with control. He knew he was a sadist but hated talking of it.

"Sorry." Tom said, allowing Jace to pull him back into his arms. He wished there was a way he could show Jace how much he cared, but he didn't know how to go about it. "You can if you want." He said softly. "It's nothing that hasn't happened before." Couldn't Jace see that all Tom wanted was to make him happy?
"I do want to... When you leave... Or if you wouldn't listen I get the urge to just beat the living shi.t out of you Tom." Jace whispered truthfully looking down into the wolf's eyes. "But.. But I won't. I can't. It would hurt far too much to see you in pain. I may be a sadist but Tom... You're someone I simply cannot inflict my violent ways on. And I think... I think it's because I love you." Jace whispered in a rush.
