Onyx blushed slightly. He smiled and lughed. "Thanks. Uhm... So, how long are you planning to stayn here..?"
"Not much longer... My mother should be here soon enough," Kai says, shrugging slightly. "Not that I really want to go home... It'll be too quiet without Keller there."
Onyx sighed concernedly. "You gonna be ok? At home, I mean," he shifted his stance awkwardly and nervously.
"I don't know... I'll justave to take it day by day and hope everything goes alright," Kai sighs, shrugging.
"Like I said. I'll always be here for you. I'm like the teddy bear kids used to cry into when something tragic happened!" Onyx smiled goofily, hoping to cheer her up.
Kai laughs softly, shaking her head. "I can almost picture that."
Onyx glanced down at himself. "Only a lot skinnier.... Hehh.." He let out a soft, halfhearted laugh.
Kai glances at the clock, frowning. "My mom should have texted me by now..." she says, running a hand through her hair and checking her phone, opening a text message she hadn't noticed. "Oh, great... Great... So now she's not picking me up..."
"So. Where does eerything go from here...?" Onyx muttered, then felt foolish, Kai must have herad him.
"What do you mean?" Kai asks, biting her lip.
"I'm not so sure myself.... but... What happens now?"
"I guess we give this relationship thing a chanc and hope we don't get caught." Kai shrugs slightly, chewing on her lower lip.
"Ok.... But... Nevermind.." Onyx took another sip of water, going over his options of what to say.
"But what?" Kai asks quetly, frowning slightly. "You don't have to hide anything from me..."
Kai smiles faintly. "Oh. Well... I should probably start walking home if I want to get there before midnight," she sighs, shaking her head.
"If you want me to drive you, I will," Onyx smiled and held up his keys, giving them a rattle.
"You're sure...?" Kai asks, biting her lip. "You don't have to, uh..." She laughs nervously, clearly a bit unsure of what to call him.
"It'd be my pleasure, Kai, my dear," onyx gave her a sincere smile and got up, throwing his coat on.
Kai smiles faintly, grabbing her backpack and slinging it over her shoulder. "Thanks. So... When we're alone... What should I call you...?"
