When Artemis's feet were back on solid ground, she found herself in a casino, at a bar. Dionysus was already ordering wine. One for him and one for her. But, when he tried to hand it to her, she held her hand up. "Um, no thanks." she said, looking around. "What?" Dionysus asked, a smirk on his face, "Are you not 21 yet?" It was joke, and though she didn't find it funny, Artemis snorted. "I just want to get this over with, I have places to be." she mumbled. "Like where?" Dionysus asked, taking a swig of his wine. "With your boyfriend in the Underworld." Artemis said nothing.
Hestia stepped out of the fireplace in the throne room of the Underworld's castle. She brushed the ashes off her brown skirt and looked about. Now, to find Hades.
Hades was storming down the hallway. He brushed past his servants, making some of them drop the things they had been carrying. He didn't even bother to look back. His eyes were dim and dark, the fire that used to smolder there dimming and dying with his mood.
Artemis watched Dionysus down the first wine and ask for a second. "So, who exactly do you need my help finding?" she asked him. He took another drink and said, "The charites, the muses, the nymphs, the winds..." Artemis sighed, "Is that all?" Dionysus shook his head, "Nah, there's more." "Well...?" she asked, looking at him expectantly. "Oh, you want me to name them all? Well, Nereus, Proteus, Triton, Adonis- you'll like him, he's a hunter -Nemesis, Styx, Nyx... And that's about it, doll." "How bad is it going to be?" she asked quietly, her eyes following the glass as it once again met his lips. "What?" he asked, swallowing. She gave him "you know" kind of look and he nodded. "Ah, the war?" he asked and she nodded. "Well... Kronos has taken Zues... If that can tell you anything." "Wow," Artemis murmured, "We are in over our heads this time."
Zues woke up, his head throbbing. He was laying on a hard, black polished floor. Something about the floor didn't seem real though, it shimmered if he looked at it at the right angle and seemed to disappear from existance if he looked long enough. I'm in the cloud, he thought, I only see what Kronos wants me to see. Slowly, Zues lifted his head, his gaze met the cold eyes of the Titan Lord.
"Welcome, my son!" Kronos boomed, his voice sounding like the creaking of bones or the grating of stones, "I haven't seen you for a long age. I felt a reunion was in store, just you and me. Like the old days." There was no fatherly love in his face, only a horrible, terrifying glow of hatred and pure loathing. Zues raised his head futher and sat up then stood, his face molding into a set look of loathing equal to that of his father's.
Hestia scrambled about the halls of Hades' castle, searching for the god of the undead. "Have you seen Hades?" she asked some of the servants. They pointed down another hall, which Hestia saw was full of servants cleaning up spilled supplies. "Excuse me," she asked, as they all looked up at her, "Has Hades been this way?" They nodded and she kept going.
Hades had stormed out of his palace, pushing aside anything and anyone who stood in his way. Anger and fear and worry an sadness welled up in him as he moved.
Hestia ran out of the castle, catching a glimpse of a rather unhappy looking Hades. "There you are!" she shouted, running to catch up with him. "Where are you going? Where are so unhappy?"
"I'm always unhappy." Hades snapped back at her, not even bothering to look at her.
Hestia shrugged. "Good point." she said, pullinh her brown shawl farther down on her head. "I suppose Dionysus did his job in telling you what we need done?"
"Yes." Hades snarled. "And I'm working on it. So you can just pop on out now."
"Demeter told me to come and make sure you were staying true to your job." Hestia said, "So, I have to stay."
Hades spat at the ground. Not something he would normally do, but he was anger an overwhelmed. Maybe Hestia would get disgusted with him and go away. He marched even faster.
((so sorry i wasn't on lately! I had a show this past weekend and things were crazy. Update please?
((Gah! Can't let it get buried!))
((Back! Florida was amazing!))
"I've dealt with worse and more disgusting things than you, Hades. Don't even try. And the sooner you help me, the sooner we can both go help Artemis and Dionysus. So... Chop chop." Hestia said, her hands on her hips.
