"I'm sorry, I thought, never mind. I'm sorry" Liz said pulling away as her face burned red with embarrassment.
Jason shook his head, awkwardly going to pat her shoulder. He missed, though, because he wasn't looking at her. He ended up patting her head. It was really awkward. "I didn't m-mind," he mumbled through a new layer of embarrassment.
This couldn't be more awkward. "Um, I really am sorry. I just thought that, you, um, you said you liked me and I thought, never mind." Liz hair into her hands embarrassed that she misread him so much.

Jason rubbed the back of his neck, still not looking at her. He was so embarrassed. He knew she was embarrassed, which made it worse. God, he was a mess. "I, um. Mmph. I do like you like that... I'm glad you, um," his arms were completely flushed at this point. "I liked... Um..." He was just too flustered to go on. Hopefully she would understand. He didn't want to risk her not understanding, though. So he did what he could without thinking, because as soon as he thought about it he wouldn't have the guts. He leaned over and kissed her cheek without another word. Then, he thought about it, and his embarrassment intensified.
"Thanks for trying to make me feel better. But I f.ucked up. No questions to it." Liz sighed slightly smiling touching her cheek where he had kissed it. She was a deep red as well, not able to control the flush that covered her light skin.
Jason sighed shakily, thinking of his other memories. In those, she meant everything to him. So, he couldn't really let this go. He had to be brave. Could he? No. Wait--he meant yes. Yes, he could do it. Maybe...
Gingerly swiping his hair away from his eyes, he took another shaky breath. Then, he got right in front of her. He just looked into her eyes intensely. His eyes said what he didn't have the words for.
(( I feel like that was cheesy and lame. *-* ))
((Naw, a little cheesy mush never hurt anyone. :) ))
With a tiny gasp, Liz looked into his eyes for a moment. For that moment, time itself seemed to stand still. She thought about what could have possably drove her into coming out here, in the dark. Not only that, but to a pond. A pond. She almost shuttered at that. Looking into his eyes, she suddenly felt like she had a reason for what she did. Slowly she reached her hand up to place it on his cheek holding it softly.
Jason was still blushing furiously, and her hand felt cool on his warm and reddened cheek. He wanted to kiss her, for real kiss her, but he wasn’t that brave. He was still half afraid this was a dream and he’d wake up to a bear attacking him again. He still looked into her eyes, even though it was apparent he was embarrassed and had an instinct to look down.
"Kiss me." Liz whispered saying the first thought to her mind as she held his face softly in her hands looking into his eyes.
