She smiles as she gets nervous and she hesitates but walks in and she sees his mom and freezez " H.. Hi" her face gets red as she never really met anyones mom. she looks at Jake unknowing of what to do
Jakob didn't even have to look at his mother's face to know she was surprised. He had never brought friends home before, ever. Especially not a girl. His face stayed red.
"Mom..." He mumbled, trying to brush past her before she could start fussing in front of Bethany. "This is my...friend." He said the word hesitantly. It felt strange in his mouth.
Bethany looks up confidentley at Jakes mom" Hi! I was your sons lab partner and wanted to know if I can hang out?"
Jakob didn't look into his mother's eye as she stood there surveying Bethany with her usual worried frown.
He stood there, twitching uncomfortably.
"Oh, well, I don't know." His mom reached out to touch his arm. "I don't think he would be able to handle that."
"Mom." Jakob mumbled. She was starting to fuss.
Bethany steps infront of Jake and looks her in the eye" we still need to finish the project soo If we can work togetthhherr?
Jakob didn't want to look up to meet his mother's eyes. He already knew her answer, what it was going to be. He waited silently for her to politely but firmly shoo Bethany away and then fuss over him the way she always did.
"Well, I suppose if it does need to be done."
Jakob jolted a little when he heard what his mother said. He looked up, his jaw going a little slack and his eyes going wide. His mom was actually letting her in!
Bethany smiles and she notices Jakes hand from outside his jacket and she grabs his hand with her cold one she blushes " I won't be here for long just untill we are done" she looks Jakes mom and smiles
Jakob kept standing in shock. He didn't move until his mother had given his a gentle pat on the shoulder with a quick reminder to watch himself and take his medicine.
He looked down at Bethany, feeling her hand in his. He blushed.
"I um...Didn't think she'd let you stay."He said after staying silent for a few seconds.
She smiles and looks at Jake " well I guess I can persuade people easily" she squeezez his hand smiling big " so what shall we do Jake?" she says quietly so his mom won't hear
"I don't know." Jakob mumbled, glancing over his shoulder towards where his mom had disappeared around the corner. "I've never really...hung out before."
Bethany laughs " well your going to learn silly. so wheres your room?" shocked that she asked that she didn't want to seem rude to him
"Upstairs." Jakob's eyes flickered over to the stairs. He started to move towards them, fingers jumping nervously against his leg. He glanced at her, hesitating for a moment as he put his foot on the first step.
she relaxes and looks at Jake and smiles she starts to walk with him up the stairs and with her free hand she pulls out her Ipod" ok you gotta tell me you listen to music right?"
"Sometimes." Jakob moved slowly up the stairs. Too fast, and he got breathless. His mom would fuss more and probably send Bethany home. So he moved carefully.
she walks the same pace he does and walks close to him smiling anytime shes touching him " ok what band? anddd what kind of music?"
"Mostly instrumental music. I don't really listen to any bands." Jakob said quietly, pausing at the top of the stairs. He stood there for just a few seconds before moving down the hall towards his room.
she smiles big"oooo soo your not a screamo person thats good " she laughs" do you think your mom is fine with me coming here or no? because I can leave if she really doesn't want me to " she stops walking almost letting go of his hand
"No, she doesn't really like me being around other people." Jakob paused with his hand on his doorknob. His face started to go red. "B-but I don't want you to go..."
she blushes and lets go of his hand " thanks" she looks in his eyes " you know something? your eyes are just out of this world " she smiles and looks down as she gets nervouse.
"My...eyes?" Jakob's face got redder and he turned his face aside. "Um...thanks, I-I guess." He hurried to open his door, unsure of what to say or do now. "Here's my room." He mumbled, quickly stepping inside.
