Lynn shrugged. “Well, if we’re worried about being tracked, we should just stick to the tunnels.” She picked up the pace a bit as she made a right; they had a lot of ground to cover.
"Okay, let's go." Cole sped off.
Lynn blinked as he sped off in front of her. Really? He would have to wait anyway at the next turn. He didn't know the way. She took off after him at full speed, even though it really went against the logic of pacing yourself when you have a fifteen mile marathon ahead.
Rai went and sped past a couple of corridors, he stopped and turned around, "sorry I forgot I don't know where we are going."
Lynn slowed to a breathless stop. “That’s kind of…and important detail to forget…don’t you think?” She looked around to get her bearings once again before rerouting their route. She walked over to take a left at the next corner.
"Well..." Cole muttered, "I simply forgot.... Anyways let's continue on."
“Yeah, let’s continue on.” Lynn kept going down the tunnels, but she wasn’t running anymore. It was more like a brisk walk.
Cole followed Lynn and as the continued on, Cole began wondering more and more about his life. He hadn't realized it but, his father wasn't the good man he thought he was.
It took them a long while, but they made it. Lynn stopped and looked up at the ladder and sewer cover above them. It was probably close to six in the morning, now. “Okay. The town’s up there. It’s rumored to be radioactive, but I’ve stayed here for weeks at a time and I’m fine. I’ve never seen another soul here.”
"If it's radioactive maybe you just have an immunity to it." Cole said, he took out his sonic screwdriver and examined the outside air. "Nope this isn't radioactive." The screwdriver's light turned from blue to red. Cole looked at it with slight annoyance. "It's like something is trying to hack it...."
Lynn glanced between Cole and his screwdriver. “Well, if something is hacking it, wouldn’t that mean it can track us? Maybe we should keep it away until you can fix it. At least keep it a good distance from where we sleep. I don’t particularly like late night ambushes.”
"No, that's just my way of saying something is off with my sonic screwdriver." Cole exited the sewers and analyzed his surroundings. "Hmm, it's a good place."
Lynn followed him up the ladder. “Yep. I used to live here, after I ran away from home. There’s a couple places that still have furniture and all that, and I rigged a couple up to take some electricity from the main grid in the city.”
"Nice, though it might not be safe, the government or whatever company that your stealing from might find out. Whatever, I think with my screwdriver can make it so that they won't find out." Cole turned back down and held his hand out.
“If they do find out, I wish the three middlemen all the luck in the world…” Lynn murmured, taking his hand. "I've been at it for years, and they've never linked it to here."
((Hey can you join Sword Art Online? It's an Rp I posted, just look for the latest one.))
"Still, you can't be too careful right?" He muttered, "now where's the place where you rigged it? If we're talking about the men from my dad's cult then they'll probably use everything at their disposal. Which means if we're not carefull then they find us."
Lynn gestured to the left. “Two story pea-green house over there. The wires are currently disconnected, and have been for about six months. Just so you know,” she informed.
"Okay, I'll get working on it." Cole started towards the house then turned back, he hesitated a second then turned back. Cole decided it wasn't the time. Cole kneeled down and started connecting the cords. Then he used his sonic screwdriver to hide it.
Lynn watched him for a moment as he went to connect the wires. After that, she went and retrieved the key from its hiding place and sat on the porch, waiting for him.
Cole walked back he smiled, "done, they shouldn't be able to find us now, and I've made it so that they won't be able to track us on satallites."
