He nodded, though he wasn't exactly wanting to return that sentiment.
Lilly sat on the couch upstairs, watching as her leader, Karlov, went down to interrogate Stephen.
Stephen was guessing that the worst part was coming next. He'd probably have to talk to the leader or some mindless goon. It wasn't very high on his to-do list.
Karlov sighed as he looked down at Stephen. "What to do with you...
Stephen's eyes narrowed slightly. What was the worst the vampire could do? Wage war on his clan? Stephen's clan was immense; this guy had no idea.
Karlov sighed. "I can hear your thoughts. And in not scared of your clan."
"You should be." Stephen wasn't very surprised that their leader could hear thoughts. THen again, Stephen was a hard one to surprise. The leader could have made meteors rain fron the sky, and he wouldn't ave been surprised.
Karlov sighed and squatted by him. "Tell me, what is your business with us?"
Stephen moved away from Karlov. "None of your business." He'd rather die than feed this man any information.
Karlov rolled his eyes. "You don't understand. If you don't give me info, I will send my best men to kill every last woman and child in your clan."
"HOnor before self-preservation," he replied. No more needed said.
Karlov shrugged. "What ever. Let me show you something...." He pulled a body from the corner. A small girl with the tattoo of Stephen's clan. Karlov walked up the stairs. "See you soon maggot."
He growled, then chased after Karlov. "Get back here, you coward."
Karlov swatted him away. "Not now, I havekilling to do."
Stephen whirled and punched a wall, coming severely close to breaking his hand. "Da.mn it!"
Karlov snarled at him and turned to Lilly. "Keep an eye on him."
Stephen put his head to the wall. Even if he had no real connections to his clan, even if his coven couldn't care less, he still had to do something to protect them.
Lilly sighed. "I really don't care what you do. Go after him."
He shook hishead. "It's pointless. Even if I could magically grow wings and cannons on my arms, I'd just screw it up again." He pushed himself off the wall, then went to the other corner.
Lilly went to him. "Sorry..."
