Saige opened her eyes to a surge of blinding light. After blinking a few times, and rubbing her eyes, she pushed herself off her back into a sitting position and scanned her surroundings. Trees, lots of them. She was sitting in a forest clearing and sunlight beamed down between entertwining tree branches above her. Squinting around, she could see a few other people lying amongst the forest brush. None had awakened yet. Beside her lie a golden, gleaming bow, and a sheath of arrows.
Nate awoke with a dull throbbing in his head. He rolled into a sitting position and was greeted by hundreds of trees, a few unmoving bodies, and one conscious girl. He took a second to process his new surroundings, then muttered "You have got to be kidding me."
Cole gasped, he woke up and felt immediate danger. Beside him he grasped something that looked like a gun he smiled and looked at it then discovered it was a water gun. His smile faded, "Darn....." Then he felt his other side and picked up a ninja blade and he held it in his hand. It was perfectly balanced. "Nice." Then Cole got up and observed the surroundings, noticed two other concious people and walked towards them.
Tyler groaned out loud, awaking but not opening his eyes quite yet. He rolled over a little, but instead of the soft of a blanket or sheet, or even a faded carpet, he felt underbrush under him. He gasped with surprise, bolting up and opening his eyes. He blinked a few times, staring at his surroundings. He was in some sort of a forest. There were other people around him, though only two appeared to be awake. Beside him on the ground rested a pair of long, gleaming knives.
Rising to his feet, Nate notices a staff within close proximity. He takes it in his hand and watches one of the bodies gain consciousness and walk towards him and the girl. It's another guy. "Anyone here know what's going on?"he says, a little louder than he intended.
Tyler stayed sitting on the ground, staring cautiously around him. He glanced at the people who were awake, three now, then back down at the knives. He scooped them up and slowly started to stand.
saige eyed the approaching people and said, "I have haveno idea whats on."
Cole heard the other guy, "nope... Trust me if I knew do you think I'd be here?" Cole said then he introduced himself. "Name's Cole, what's yours?"
Tyler approached the others slowly, listening silently as they spoke. He watched them all carefully.
The throbbing was still there, but he tried his best to ignore it. This situation requires a clear head—because no one else seems to know what’s going on here. “Well, allow me to share my observations, then.” he said, glancing at everyone present. “We’re surrounded by trees with no idea why, and everyone seems to have a nice handy weapon,” he smiles as if this is a great occurrence, “It all makes perfect sense.” He strides to the nearest tree and leans against it, “I’m Nathaniel. Call me Nate.”
Tyler stood silently, keeping his distance as best he could. He kept his grip on the knives, watching these people, these strangers. His mind raced, trying to think of how he had gotten here, what he had done, how he might find himself in the woods with these strangers.
"Nice to meet you Nate," Cole said as he looked around. The trees made it seem dark.
Nate noticed another guy quite a few yards away. He seems pretty tense, I'd better try to calm him down a bit...tense people and weapons aren't a good match. "Hey, you with knives," he smiles his best con-man smile, "You're probably just as in the dark about this as we are. But at the very least, we should stick together. We can help each other get out of this mess...But that'll be easier when we know each other's names."
Tyler took a half step closer, looking up at Nate. He stayed silent, waiting for the others to say something, to do something. He kept thinking, trying to remember. This had to be a joke, a really elaborate joke.
"Tyler." He said flatly.
Wow, he’s really not doing so good. Nate glances towards Cole, urging him to converse with knife-dude. “Well, you know that I’m Nate, and this is Cole. We're pleased to meet you.” I peer around to the girl, “We don’t know your name. Care to enlighten us?”
