I shrug, shifting my grip on the arm a few times. "It will work until I can get a sword or something," I muse. And as long as there's no water to hinder me, I add silently. "If anything, II'll make a bow and arrows."

Hmm...interesting. Not really a definite answer, but very few have given me that. It's possible they could understand. "You know, I faked the tests until I was twelve. It was amazing how fast my family turned on me, when they found out I was mutated." I nonchalantly stop and lean against a tree, listening intently to the massacre far behind. It still hadn't reached its end, but the screams were slightly quieter now.

"I understand," I said, "partly." I think back to my friends, they were my best friends. Although when they found out they didn't shoo my away. They still accepted me so I went on as long as I could without my powers being found.

I nod.  He wouldn’t be saying that if he knew how I’d been betrayed.  My last day before boarding the ship had been terrible, and when I got here, everyone hated me.  Not just because of my dad, not just because of my family, but because of what I did.  Because my dad told them what I did.  “So,” I said, “What’s your power, anyway?” I still have the rock I picked up.  It’ll be useful when I have to show my power.

I truss Lynn enough to tell her what my power is. So I tell her, "I can draw swords form who know where. But I can also create a new sword that has never existed if I have to." When I finish I hold my hand out and a sword appears in my hand, "I call this sword Exalibur, it can freeze people."

I raise an eyebrow. “Not what I was expecting,” she said, “but I must say, it’s a pretty bad-ass power,” she allowed herself a smile. She held up the rock, “My turn. You know anything about physics?”

"Physics, I didn't get to learn it but I know the basics." I say.

I nodded.  “Fair enough.  See this rock?  It’s full of energy.  When it moves,” she tossed it up in the air, “it’s kinetic energy.  When it’s still, that’s potential.  There’s also heat, and light energy.  I can control and transform these energy forms inside an object.” In demonstration, she removed her hand from under the rock and let it hover.  Then, changing its surface to light and heat energy, she made it glow.  Finally, she used kinetic energy to make it a projectile and toss it away.  “I can control people, too.  But that part’s limited…and I don’t particularly like to do it.”

"That's a very nice power." I say, "I betcha I can create a sword with that power too. Although the stronger the sword the less the durability. For example I can make a sword that can destroy the wall and a couple of miles past that. But I only have on chance at doing it."

“So basically, you can have any power you want,” I observed. “Considering that, your power's limitation is pretty reasonable.”

"That is the idea," I say, "but I think a really strong sword that I create can take my life force."

“You think?  Yeah…I wouldn’t suggest trying that one out,” I tell him.  “Not unless you’re going to die anyway.”

Silence rises up. "yeah... We're all going to die at some point of our lives whether it be here or somewhere else." I say, "but I'm planning to live to the longest I can." When I finish I stop. "Is this a good enough of a place?"
