"Nice to meet you," I said. "You'll probably hold up just fine even for your first year." I hesitate at first then offer my hand to him.

"Nice to meet you too," I say to Mae as I shake her hand. My face turned a bit dark, "I'll hold fine alright."

This’ll be interesting…that’s for sure.  I can’t believe I managed to get an alliance. “The alarm will sound any minute now.  We need to get a head start or we’ll be targeted,” I inform them.  “You ready for this?”

"You don't know how ready I am," I braced. I've been preparing for this since I woke up from my long slumber. I'm more than ready to avenge the death's of my friends. I know there human but they would have fought alongside us monsters for equality.

"I'm ready to win this game!" I shouted a little too loud.  Some of the others by the edge turned to look at me, sizing me up.  I raised my eyebrow at them as if to say, "watcha lookin at." and they turned around right away.

The first bell sounds—the crowd roars.  Less than two minutes. This is the part that is most familiar to me.  I’ve been in the crowd; I’ve been miles away from it.  It doesn’t matter either way.  The cheers, the screams, the moans; it’s always the same.  “Time to head out—Now.” I clench my rock into my fist and start towards the woods.

I follow Lynn as she heads out into the woods. I'm not afraid, not nervous. Nothing. I only feel a deep calm and the adrenaline surging through me as I run away from the dangers. In some cases I might stay and fight but today I am running to safety.

I take off after Lynn and Rai toward the forest.  Good.  My strengths lie there.  People flee in all sorts of directions around us.

As I move through the woods, with Rai and Mae by my side, I prepare to switch over to game mode.  You must be observant, heartless to those who attack, fearless in tough situations, and always, always, remain calm.  You have to be a lot of things.  After years of repetition, it’s become second nature.   We become systematic…almost robotic, as we fight for our lives.  It’s sad…

“I should inform you now,” I say seriously, “if we get into a situation where our lives depend on running, leave me behind.  I’ll rejoin you when I can.”  It’s a terrible weakness in these games, to have so little athletic ability.  But with some creativity, I overcome it….most the time.

I turned to look at Lynn as trees flew by us. "We can't leave you behind, we'll carry you if we have too.  I know you have good skills that could save us and great potential.  These games aren't all about strength, they are also about having an intelligent mind, if a person is smart they will probably make it farther than one who has no brains and only strength. We need you just as much as you need us."  And it was true.  If we ever got seperated we couldn't survive out there alone.

I listen to Lynn. "I think we should always stick together Lynn. But if we do get seperated we should have a meeting place."

"I agree," I said to Rai. "We should scout around and looking for hidden areas that we could find again and to camp out in."

I was stunned.  Before their words had even processed through, the word “Really?” tumbled out of my mouth.  It took me a while to get over my disbelief, and when I did, I found myself in disbelief that something managed to surprise me.  “You’ve known me for less than an hour…” I look towards Mae, “I do have experience, but what makes you think I have any useful abilities?  What makes you think I’m not human?”

They surprised me.  I wanted to judge their characters a bit more before revealing my ability—it might give away my past.  I slowed down a bit, calculating that we had made it far enough.  “I agree with the meeting place notion.  Sometimes separation is inevitable.”

Tempestas
I tense as the bell rings, grabbing the werewolf's arm. "Come on. We have to get away from here."

Rafe
I follow the angel cautiously. The unfortunate ones closed into the crowd are bleeding, I can smell it. "I'll find you a weapon." I say. The heavy scent of blood is making me lose my mind, fangs and claws elongating and eyes glowing.

Tempestas
I glance at him, raising an eyebrow slightly and turning around just in time to hit a cyborg charging us, lightning flashing down from the sky to destroy him. "That means we'd have to find a human with a weapon or something. But if by some miracle you could get me one, we'll be better off."
I slow to a walk as we enter the forest, glancing behind to make sure we haven't been followed. "You never told me your name."

Rafe
"Rafe." I say absent mindedly. "And there are weapons everywhere..." I turn back to the fallen cyborg and rip one of it's arms off, which is surprisingly very difficult. "Try that out for size." I say, handing her the metal arm, senses already whipping around, searching for a target. But me and the angel are no match for the rest of the blood bath. It's times like these to make me long for a pack. I look around the forest and smell others hiding, waiting. But they are harmless, if they could kill us, they would have done so already.

"Everyone has useful abilities," I say, "even a kid who can only tie his show be useful. Usually the best input comes from the least expected person or idea." I look at Lynn. In my old life I knew some who were considered losers. Some of them were inteligent beings.

I considered this, and decided it was an acceptable answer. They were either truely loyal allies or well practiced decievers--I'm going to assume the former as of right now. "You're right, I suppose," I pause, "Random question. Do you think it's better to be here, in Necromancia, or be allowed to live among the humans in their country while they plot against you?" I had answered this question myself, long ago. I ask everyone who doesn't know who I am, it's the best way to find out if I should tell them or not. Not that I would just casually bring that up with Mae and Rai, but I'd like to know how many lies I have to conjure up. Oh jeez, I'm just a mistrusting mess right now.

I thought about it for a second, "I don't know Lynn. I don't know. But I do know that living with humans who are plotting against us is something I would not like."
