Teen Ink on Twitter
For as long as he could remember, Jefferson had been watching people fall in love. Old, young, ugly, attractive...it didn't matter the mix; they all fit seamlessly. It was his doing, he knew that, and he was happy with his lot in life.
When Jefferson was given an order to make a young girl fall for a man 20 years her elder, he thought he'd better find out why. Jefferson spent hardly a week following her before he decided to show himself. He wanted this girl free to make her own choice... hopefully that choice would be him.
Age: (Jefferson is perpetually stuck in his late teens/early 20s so go accordingly. 17 the youngest please)
Extra: if you feel the need
((Can I join?))
((Yes you may! You can post your skellie whenever. WARNING: I'm rarely on over the weekends, my posts are during the week.))
((Yay! I'm assuming you want Jefferson? Also, I'm 6 hours ahead of TI time, so usually I'm not online after around 5pm.))
((I'm usually not either, so it's cool. Yes! I want Jefferson... he's my baby and I need him (Once Upon A Time..the madhatter? he's perf...) Oh and question. That stetson sporting stud is Matt Smith, isn't it? ))
((Yup. Promo shot from Doctor Who I turned into an icon. I'm a little obssessed... I'll get to work on my skellie now.))
((Danke, fellow Whovian. I'll post mine in a bit.))
((*squeals* I don't find many people on here who like Doctor Who. Can't for the life of me think why, it's awesome ;) ))
((I haven't watched the latest episode and I'm dying from withdrawal. I keep rewatching the Eleventh Hour because I like to hurt myself. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh WHY DO THESE FEELS HAPPEN? But yes, Doctor Who is beyond cool. Like fezes or bow ties.. or stetsons.))
((Are you in America then? Most people on here are, I guess. Doctor Who is the thing that makes me proud to be British. Also, sorry the skellie isn't especially long or detailed, I sorta have to come off my laptop in a bit.))
Name: Lila Marley
Personality: Lila is a daydreamer and is often described as a little ‘away with the fairies’. She is warm and friendly, and is almost always seen smiling. She has a pretty thin skin and will take offense easily, but isn’t very good at showing others how she feels. Lila likes to think that she can fix everything and gets upset when she finds she can’t. Overall, she’s a people person and doesn’t like to be alone. She makes friends quickly and generally keeps them for life.
Bio: Lila comes from a family of high achievers, who found her to be a bit of a disappointment. She wants to go to art college, but her parents will only pay if she studies something they believe to be worthwhile, ie. not art. To make the money it will take to get her to college, Lila has several part time jobs that take up a lot of her time.
Name: Jefferson (Current last name Halle)
Age: 500 years of perpetual 22
Appearance: Fringed black hair with wide, innocent grey eyes. Cherubic face (but obviously) and he's tall with broad shoulders and a lean build.
((Forgot appearance... sorry.))
Personality: Jefferson is a cynic, but he hides it well. He loves to watch people fall in love. Jefferson has never been in love but he wants to experience it very badly. He doesn't believe every match is a good one and so he almost always has a sad and guilty expression on his face. Jefferson is a jerk, just naturally.
Bio: Jefferson comes from an entirely different world, lost in time. He lived in a time where love was cherished above all else, but now it was lost in the world. He makes people fall in love. Jefferson is a jerk to everybody. He's seen too much of the world not to hate it.
((I love him :) Do you want me to add appearance to mine?))
((You love Jefferson? :D And sure you can.))
Appearance: Shoulder length almond brown hair, gray eyes, dimpled cheeks. Small height with a skinny build.
((I'm cool to start if you're ready?))
((Yeah, can you do the starting post?))
Jefferson studied the store windows, attempting nonchalance as he followed Lila. He didn't know where she was going because he hadn't quite memorized her schedule.
Suddenly Jefferson turned on his foot and headed back down the sidewalk. He could only just hear the distinct sound of a breaking heart. His body was tuned to the sound, the pounding of blood and gurgling of tears in a person's throat. He knew it like he knew his own voice.
Jefferson picked up his pace as the girl got louder, skipping around a corner, he slipped his visibility. He'd have to catch up with Lila later.
Lila wandered down the street on her way to her part-time waitressing job. She had a large rucksack slung over her shoulder which contained her sketchbook and her cleaning uniform to change into after she finished up at the café.
As she walked, she looked around her at all the people. In her head she made up stories for them - where they were going, what they spent their days doing. Her heart warmed as she saw an elderly couple embracing in the middle of the street. She wanted a love like that one day. One that lasted through the years. She was smiling as she entered the café and set to work.
Jefferson reached the girl just as the love of her young life was walking out on her. He sighed, making a mental note to track down the guy later.
He lay a soothing hand over the girl's heart. The urge to touch someone's heart had always been within him and for the past...forever.. he'd been acting on it to heal people. As the girl's heart quieted, Jefferson smiled. She'd be mulling over the mistakes in that relationship for a couple months, but she was strong. No need to take crazy measures out on her.
Jefferson left the girl with a seed of hope, knowing she'd nuture it. He set off to find Lila, not slipping back into his visibility. A long time ago he'd learned not to show himself while on assignment. Jefferson had a serious staring problem and sometimes it messed things up.
Lila was daydreaming as she scrubbed tables. A family with four young kids had just left (leaving no tip, Lila was put out to discover) and as a result, the table was covered in filth. Sticking remnants of the meal coated every surface.
Lila didn't really mind. It was a mindless task; one that leant her time to think. In her head she imagined the house she would live in one day, with the studio for her to paint in. Someone to share it with. She knew it was a dream that was still a long way away, but he hoped it would one day be true.
