"She kept dropping hints that she wanted me to come see her." Sarah sighed, plopping down on the couch.

"I still don't understand how that's bad..." Hale says, frowning slightly. "Unless you're worried about Rokkel and Lineai following..."

"Well it's a matter of not telling them where we're going. I don't want my mother meeting Rokkel anyway. I hardly want her meeting you, no offense. She'll want us to keep coming back to see her, and how could I keep telling her no? But if I don't tell her no, she'll start to realize neither of us are aging." Sarah shook her head. "If she found out what I've gotten myself into, she'd have a heart attack."

"Ah... That's understandable, especially with Rokkel. I wouldn't want her near most modern humans what with her... issues."

Sarah quirked a brow. "My curiosity's getting the best of me. Exactly what 'issues' are you referring to?"

"You're really asking that?" Hale chuckles, shaking his head. "More than I care to explain. Some have no explanation, you just know that they exist."

Sarah shrugged. "I was just wondering if you could give an example is all."

"Like how she;s sort of bipolar," Hale says, shrugging. "Her hatred for human laws and something close to hatred for humans despite having been one."

Sarah nodded. "Okay...." She mumbled, letting the subject drop completely.

Hale sighs, rubbing his temples. "I've screwed up so many people's lives..."

Sarah shook her head. "Please...don't talk like that Hale." She said, her eyes pleading as she looked at him.

"Why not when it's the truth? Would you rather I lie about it?" Hale says quietly.

Sarah shook her head. "No." She came to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing his cheek. "It's not that...it's just...you should focus on the good, not the bad."
