(That's fine :) ))

Issac approached the castle as the sun was setting. Alice held onto his hand, gazing in front of her unseeingly. Upon seeing her, Gren actually chuckled.

"Ah, teaching the young ones what we do to our criminals?"He assumed, and Issac nodded with a smile, even if he wanted to give Gren a glare. As if he'd teach Alice any cruelties..."Well, good luck with her, m'boy. She seems to get mouthier by the hour." He nodded, before he stalked off.

"Lydia?"Issac called out; none of the candles were lit. If he wasn't her night guard, would she spend them in complete blackness? The thought made Issac frown, and he made his way towards her cage."I brought an ah...visitor."He added, before softly letting go of Alice's hand."I'm going to light some candles."Issac explained, quickly doing so. Alice stayed put, obedient. Soon, everything was lighted, and Issac took his little sister's hand and guided her closer to the cage.

"Lydia, this is my little sister, Alice. Alice, this is Lydia."Issac introduced simply, with a slightly embarrassed grin.

"Hello. Is it true that you did all of those things?"Alice asked. Her tone wasn't accusing; just curious. And her face was a litte troubled as she reached out, coming in contact with the cage. She seemed a little surprised, feeling the bars. They kept Lydia in a cage?"You sound too nice, to be a criminal." Issac shrugged, slightly amused my his sister's assumptions, though curious himself.

Lydia subtly angled her face in a way so that shadows were cast across the angry purple bruise on her cheek before she even realized what she was doing. "Hello, Alice. Yes, I did." She leaned in a bit and added, "And a few more they don't know about. But I don't consider myself a criminal."

Alice blinked, tilting her head. Issac softly sighed; there was so much he needed to tell Lydia, but not with a set of young and niave ears.

"I don't think you're a criminal."Alice stated, her fingers moving down the bars. They came across the braided straw. For a moment, she got that curious look on her face, before she hesitated, looking hesitant."They keep you in a cage, but you're not an animal..."Alice's gaze flickered up to Issac, waiting for an explanation. A flash of pain crossed his face; he should of never brought her here.

"You're right."He replied in a whisper, his brown eyes finding Lydia's."That's why we're getting her out of her."Issac added matter of factly, with a little smile as he put his arms around Alice.

Lydia cocked her head, surprised. That was when she decided to tell him. Leaning in slightly, she whispered, "I don't think they're really going to kill me. You don't have to risk yourself...or your family, for me."

Issac's face was hard as stone; so much different from his usual jovial expression. Alice was now softly asleep, thank God, and he laid her softly on an extra map. Even Alice liked Lydia...

"I'm not risking anything for you."He replied curtly, frowning as the light wouldn't hit a certain side of her face. The slap..."And stop trying to hide your face. I saw what happened."Issac snapped, before releasing a deep breath.

"Lydia, listen. What's going on here...it's wrong. And I don't know why I feel like this, but..."Issac stopped, finding her mossy green eyes of hers."I don't understand. What you stand for is insane, but the more I think about it..."He couldn't even form a complete sentence in his confusion.

"You could get caught. And then you'd be killed for treason." Lydia argued. "What would Alice do without you? Listen. Why is it hanging? The standard punishments for 'crimes' like mine are much worse. Drawn and quartering, burning, starvation...Why would I get hanging? It would be fairly easy to fake a hanging...I really don't think they are going to kill me. And if they are, that's my problem. I knew what I was getting into, and I don't want to endanger you with it."

Issac's expression became harder as she mentioned Alice.

"So, say of you did fake your death. Where would you go? Would I ever see you again?"Issac stopped right there, his face flushed with anger."I mean, you're not a bad person. And how would you fake it anyways?" He questioned, before he leaned closer to the cage bars. Man, her bruise looked horrible.

"I want to help you, Lydia. So let me."He said to her slowly, determined.

Lydia shook her head, "You misunderstood me. I'm saying that I think they are going to fake my death. If they were going to execute me for treason, they wouldn't be hanging me. That's too good for a traitor.
"They still need me. Thale needs to know where the rest of us are. He knows what's happening, he knows we know, and he wants to stop it. I know what he wants to know, and I can't give it up if I'm dead. But if he kept me alive the city would get suspiscious."

Issac made an annoyed sound in the back of his throat.

"The more reason for you to get out of here!"He hissed, his brown eyes fiery."I can make it look like you escaped. Got out somehow. Do you realize that I'm trying to keep you alive?" Issac didn't know why for sure, but he knew it was important. That Lydia lived.

"I know." Lydia answered with a half sigh, "I know, and I appreciate that. But I am almost sure that I won't be killed, at least not yet. If you get caught, you will be. How would you even be able to let me go? I'm always guarded by someone, and if I 'escaped' on your watch they'd blame you."

Issac's expression became mildly surprised, and maybe a little pleased. She cared about what would happen to him? It made him feel...nice. And he didn't know why. He tilted his head, his expression softening.

"Come here."He whispered. "So I can at least see you."

Lydia shifted forward into the light better, a slightly puzzled expression on her face. "You need to...don't try to protect me. You've got to cure your sister, remember?" She whispered, hoping he'd agree.

Yes, she was bruised pretty badly. A violent shade of red covered a good portion of her face, but even then, she was beautiful. Was that possible, for Issac to think of someone as beautiful? A prisoner, of all people? Gazing at her now, it was very possible. More than possible. It was true.

"I thought you said there was no cure."He reminded her softly. Issac moved closer now, too. All that was seperating them were the wooden bars, a few breaths."I want to kiss you Lydia."He finally said, unblinking."Does that make me crazy? Or just mad?"

"Why can't we have both?" Lydia whispered softly, her breath catching.
His eyes looked more gold, almost orange, in the dancing candle light. She reached out a hand, one finger centimeters from his cheek, "I...I've never..."

"Crazily mad, then?"Issac asked with a wry chuckle. He could feel her hand so close to touching his cheek. Why wouldn't she move it closer? Afraid? Slowly, he brought his fingers towards her hand, pushing it on his cheek while his hand stayed on top of hers. Her hands were cold, fingers skinny. He could feel his heart beat, loud and clear. Gently, Issac leaned closer, but not for a kiss. Just so he could lean his head on the bars, taking her in. The golden hue of her eyes, the hollow of her cheekbones.

"Lydia, you are beautiful."Issac whispered in the night, his warm breath dancing on her lips."And I know you've probably never...had this. But neither have I. And I...I...can't explain it."Words were failing Issac and he stopped, his gaze intent."Can I kiss you?"

His hands felt warm against hers, and she held her breath. Time seemed to slow, yet it was still moving too fast for her taste. They'd just met. It should feel wrong. It felt perfect. That is, if you forgot about the bars, which she did.
She couldn't breathe, couldn't speak. So she just rested her head on the bars, so just their noses were brushing, and nodded.

"Lydia..."Issac's voice was gentle, and his brows pulled together. Did she felt wrong about this? They had only just met, right? But why did he feel so strongly about her? Why? He didn't know the answers, and for some reason, that didn't bother him so much.

His lips pressed onto her forehead. Warm, and comforting. Issac pulled away, only slightly. His brown eyes flickered like a flame.

"I want our first kiss to be when we're both free. You of the cage, and me of this kingdom."Issac explained, smiling softly."Okay?"

When he pulled away, Lydia felt a dull ache inside her. Confusion wasn't an emotion she usually liked, but this time...it was exciting.
She nodded again, staring into his eyes. "How?" The question was simple, unlike the problem. She was an important prisoner, they couldn't just walk out.
