"Oh come on, David." Emily said, smiling, "You've got this, come on."
Jake smiled and encouraged David. "Come on dude. You just have to go up there and say your name, what department you're interested in, and something weird about you. Three things, that's it."
Lizz looked up when Jake spoke and saw the new guy, who she hadn't noticed before. She often did that - get too absorbed in her own thoughts that she didn't notice things around her. It was one of her many flaws. "Go on, it's not too hard." She joined in, smiling in encouragement.
Kate turned to the boy but didn't talk. She nodded her head toward front stage and smiled a small smile. "Really, its not bad." She looked at him then shoved her hands in her black army pants.
Adam loved the sight of all of the other kids getting together to urge another one to talk about himself. "Come on, David!" He urged. "I'll go up there with you!"
David smiled at the thought of not embarassing himself alone. "Ok."
Jake smiled and nudged David onto the stage. "Knock 'em dead." He encouraged.
Emily's smile widened, "Whoo! Go David!!" she cheered.
Adam put his arm around David and marched him up onto the stage. "Hi again!" He waved. "This is David..."
David tried to smile, but figured it would come out as a grimace. "Uhmm.... Hello?" He looked at Adam with a very unsure look.
Adam smiled reassuringly at David. "Say something interesting about yourself, and what kind of arts you do!"
((would singing and playing the violin and piano count?))
((I think it's like Theatre, Musical Theatre, Instruments, Visual Arts and Dance.... right??))
[My art school, CAPA (Creative And Performing Arts) has Theater (Musical Theater included), Visual Arts (Photography, Animation, Drawing and Sculpting), Instrumental, Vocal and Literary Arts (Poetry, Fiction, Script writing, Ect.). All are arts and performing arts.]
((Yeah, all of those work. Singing and instruments definitely count. Maybe have him be an actor, as well.))
David smiled and struggled for wrods. "Uhmmm. I like to act; I'm musically talented; and I love poetry..... I guess That's what I do." He looked to Adam for approval.
Adam smiled brightly and clapped his hands, nodding reassuringly at David. Ms. Morisson smiled and got onstage. "Thank you David, Adam." As Adam and David got offstage, the teacher turned to the class. "Today is our first day of Remedial Acting. You will be present in this class until I am confidant that you can audition for the school again, and be entered into the regular programme. For now, you're stuck with me." She smiled grimly, and went to the blackboard. "Our first order of buisness is one of my favourites- the Bard himself, William Shakespeare."
Lizz had to hold back a groan. She really didn't like some Shakespeare plays - Romeo and Juliet, for instance, were idiots in her mind. What sort of people would kill themselves for love? That just didn't make any logical sense in her mind.
David smiled widely. He had enjoyed Shakespeare's works for quite a long time. It helped him through tough times. "Great!" Acting was one of the only things that made him happy and he could lose inself in a constructive way.
Shakespeare, she read a lot of Shakespeare, not that she dare admit it. He was her and her father's favorite writer, that and she really likes to keep educated and loves reading. She knows a lot about him and his works and though sometimes they don't make sense to others, she understands them perfectly well. Romeo and Juliet were in love and love makes you do crazy things-not like she'll ever be in love. "Shakespeare, go figure," she mumbles.
