"Yeah, go head and take a look. I'm just going to start getting ready. Holler if you need anything or have any questions." With that Ash grabbed the suit from the chair and headed to the bathroom. He already took a shower so it shouldn't take him long.
Ben flicked through the pictures carefully, trying to avoid getting finger prints on them. There were lots of Lucy - her smiling, reading, walking, laughing, singing. "So have you two made it official then?" he called out to Ash.
Ash just got finished getting dressed and was gargling when Ben asked the question. Mouthwash spewed out his mouth like you only see on cartoons. "No. We're not even dating, though to be honest, I wouldn't mind." Ashes walked out his bathroom and stood by his bed. "My boss told me to take pictures of family and love and she's like family."
"I'm pretty suprised the two of you aren't already dating," Ben commented. "She seems pretty smitten with you. And you have a certain... fascination... with her too." He gestured to the pictures. "Although if you really do like her I'll have to give you the big brother talk."
"I was planning on asking her to the Valentine's dance next week." Ash said as he picked up his favorite picture of Lucy, the one where she's smiling shyly at him and the sun is setting behind her.
"She'll like that," Ben smiled. "Although I'm sure you know that if you hurt her, I'll come round here and break every bone in your body. She means a lot to me, you'll never know how much."
"Oh, I know. I'll never hurt her and I'll try not to. To lose her would mean I've lost everything. She's the best thing I've got in my life." Ash glanced at his watch. "I got to go, but it was nice talking to you and thanks for the suit." He placed all the pictures back in the bag except the one with Lucy and the sunset. He walked out the dorm and held the door open for Ben.
Ben went through the door, slapping Ash on the shoulder as he passed. "It was great talking to you mate," he smiled. "Send Lucy my love and tell her I'll visit next week." He waved goodbye and left.
"Aight," Ash said as he followed Ben out. He headed over to the gallery to finish setting up. 'Be Ready In Ten.' He sent to Lucy. Its now 5:40 after he's done setting up. "Going to pick up your pretty friend?" His boss asked. "As a matter of fact, in five I will." Ash replied.
Lucy was woken by her phone vibrating in her pocket. She read the text, then looked at the time and swore loudly. She was supposed to have started getting ready an hour ago. Hastily she put her dress and shoes on, grateful she had had her shower earlier. She hoped Ash wouldn't be too punctual so as to give her a chance at getting ready.
It was 5:55 before Ash left the gallery and he swore under his breath. He was supposed to pick up Lucy five minutes ago but because of his boss's niece and her boyfriend, some picture frames were broken and he had to fix them. On top of that, people started to arrive. He quickly makes his way to Lucy's door and raps on the door. "Lucy, it's Ash, you ready?" He called out just as the door opened and his jaw was left hanging open.
"Hey Ash, I'm so sorry I'm not looking as good as I should, but I only woke up ten minutes ago," Lucy apologised. "I fell asleep without meaning to. I can't imagine how shattered you must be though." She caught sight of his jaw-dropped expression and raised an eyebrow. "Take a picture, it'll last longer," she said sarcastically.
Ironically enough, he had his camera. He quickly slid it to the front of his torso and snapped a few pictures. "You may have been in a rush, but you look stunning. You ready?" He offered her his arm.
Lucy blushed and took his arm. "Thank you," she said quietly. "You look rather handsome yourself." She locked the door behind her and slipped the key into her purse. "Was Ben alright? He didn't threaten to beat you up or anything, did he?"
"It was nice talking to him." Ash said as he took sideway glances at her. Before he knew it, they were at the gallery. "After you." He held the door open for her.
Lucy smiled and went through the door. As she stepped into the gallery she gasped out loud. "Ash, these photos are incredible. I didn't even know you were taking half of them," she murmured.
Ash blushed. "Yeah, I'm good like that." He followed in behind her then walked to her side. He placed his hand on the small of her back. "Come on, there's someone I want you to meet." He lead her over to his boss. "Mr. Chêë." Ash said as he stopped in front of his boss. "Ah, Ash. Is this your friend, she's looking mighty pretty in her dress." The older man smiled at Lucy and Ash.
"Thank you sir," Lucy replied, smiling at the man. "Are you Ash's boss? You must be so proud of his talent." She gestured to the photographs hung all around the room. Lots of people were looking at them and all seemed to be very impressed.
"Yes, I'm extremely proud of him. He's a very talented young man and it helps that he has such a beautiful young lady friend to be some of his inspiration." Mr. Chêë said as Ash blushed. "Ash, I have some people for you to meet." He turned to Ash. "Alright. Lus, try and mingle." Ash said as he followed his boss over to a group of powerhouse men in very expensive looking suits.
Lucy stood a moment, just trying to take in all the photographs around her. Then she started looking at them more closely, walking up to the one nearest the door and working her way around. She tried to keep away from people, wanting to enjoy the gallery on her own without having to make awkward small talk.
