Claire yelped as she fell to the ground. She groaned, "Someone's behind you..." She called.
Meria growled and threw the knife. It clipped Avexis's cheek and dug into the tree behind Claire.
Avexis drew a little magic as he ran his finger across the cut "you are both causing trouble, is this meant to be an ambush?" he chuckled, mocking them both
Meria drew her sword and came out from hiding. "What is your buisness?"
Claire got to her feet and retrieved both the knife and the arrow, trying to decide whether to run or stay. "I work alone." She grumbled, stepping out to the edge of the woods, but keeping her distance.
"i am travaling to the capital, the king wishes to have an Audiance with me" he had not moved to draw either of his swords, they where both still hidden, his muscular body glistening with sweat from the walk
Meria frowned. "Highly unlikely. What is your audience about pray tell?"
"he wants to meet me, because err.... i kinda slew a dragon" he chuckled nervously but his voice was truthfull
Claire stiffened. "That's horse sh!t." She growled. "I know my luck is bad, but there's no way the first person to walk by was the man who slayed the dragon."
Meria scowled. "How about you tell the truth you lying sack of cr.ap."
Avexis pulled a dragon tooth from the bundle of clothes "im not lying, im the farmer boy who killed the dragon!"
Claire's heart dropped and she muttered curses. He did match the discription, except he was a bit more attractive than described. "Say you are telling the truth, this isn't the main road, and the main road would be faster travel. Why this road?"
Meria sheathed her sword and looked expectantly at the boy for an answer. Her eyes travled over him a bit but she stopped herself from looking too much.
"because people would recognise me, yes the main road would be faster but i had hoped for less delays on this road" he sighed, tucking the tooth back into the clothes
Claire shook her head. "Great." She muttered. "Just great." She turned and started to stalk off into the woods, Meria's knife still clutched in her hand.
Meria frowned again. "Wait, where are you going?"
"To rob someone who's NOT a dragon slayer." Claire called over her shoulder.
Meria rolled her eyes. "Have fun wherever you're going."
"hang on, both of you!" his voice was allot more authorative, his cheek twitching as he scowled, placing his hand on the hilt of one of his swords
