"Please don't talk about my eyes." Jakob whispered. He kept his eyes pressed closed, though he slowly pulled his hands away to rest them gently on the piano keys.
"Okay?" Di said softly obeying his request. She looked down at his hands on the keys softly.
Jakob started to play, a quiet song. It wasn't one that he had composed, but he was familiar with it anyway.
Di watched him carefully, the song sounded like one she heard before.
Ada finally complied getting up. "Be that way!" She shouted after Beth's threat.
Jakob kept playing with his eyes closed, fingers flowing carefully over the smooth, soft notes. It sounded like moonlight being played on a piano.
Di smiled watching him play, enjoying the sound.
Slowly, Jakob finished the song an sat back. "Clair de Lune." He whispered, cracking his eyes open. "By Claude Debussy."
Di nodded, "I love that song, though its even better when you play it."
(( would you freak out if I said my iPod was playing that as I read your post? ))
((Not at all. *turns aside to hyperventilate into a paper bag*))
"One of my favorites." Jakob said simply, quietly. "One of the first I learned to play."
(( I'm going crazy right now. Like what are the odds???? ))
Di smiled, "it's lovely." She said looking at her hands in her lap.
((I know, right?!! It's my favorite song in the whole universe though))
Jakob just nodded an started to play again, a different song. One that was brighter, faster.
(( its in my top ten faves for sure. I love it.))
Di watched as he played another song.
Ada, finally dressed in a yellow-white sundress her hair in its braid again held by a white ribbon. She headed through to the gardens, this time bringing the book she first met him with, not risking bringing the second.
Phebs finished his breakfast and went about trying to fin something to do. No matter what he thought of or did, he found his mind turning to Ada.
Jakob kept playing quietly. He didn't know how to talk to people, or interact with them. So he didn't. He just practiced his music.
Ada sighed, she was hungry, and no matter how much she wanted to she couldn't avoid eating. She got up and headed to the cafeteria. Hopefully most people had left by now.
Di watched his hands not making a sound.
Jakob finished the song with a few quick, bright notes. "One of Andrei's songs." He explained quietly.
Phebs was just starting to leave the cafeteria, off to find Ada...
"It's nice," Di said then leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Though I like yours better."
Ada was about to enter when she saw Phebs starting to leave. She quickly ducked behind a paper recycling bin crouching behind it hoping that no one saw her.
Jakob lushed the slightest bit. "Why?" He asked her quietly, his hands hovering over the piano keys.
Phebs tilted his head to one side with an amused smile when he saw someone duck behind a recycling bin.
"I just do." She said then added, "they sound prettier, though you make anything sound lovely." She pulled back to look at her hands and say quietly, "and a cute piano player is always a plus to any song."
Ada put her hands over her face with one thought, 'please don't see me...'
"I'm hardly a master." Jakob's hands still hovered, waiting.
Phebs walked over to stare curiously at the person who had ducked behind the bins, an his eyes widened when he saw who it was.
"But you play like one. Your songs have emotion behind them. That's what makes them so great." Diana said softly, not looking up.
Ada kept her hands covering her eyes, her dress's frilly end hovering at her upper thigh as she was ducked in a girly crouch. It normally would have came to her mid thigh pushing the dress code rules.
