Jakob held his head up, staring evenly in front of himself as he walked. He moved silently, pressing an earbud into his ear. He held his bag tighter, shifting it on his shoulder as he moved along.
Diana pulled her hot pink cherry lip gloss out of her back pocket and looked into the small mirror on her locker door as she applied it. She checked her hair and makeup before shutting her locker door. She walked along the halls, weaving her way in and out of younger children and newbies, people below her as she saw it, and found herself in her usual spot, her domain. To everyone else in school it was called "The Commons", to her and her poise it was their club house, their palace if you please. It was a central area that people had to pass through on the second level of the school to get to basically any class. It was split in the middle by a half wall of bricks and two white pillars, along the wall were benches and tables. And that was where Diana spent most her time before school, after school, and inbetween classes. She set her bags down on one of the tables and sat in her usual spot.
Phebs sprayed two puffs of cologne on, possibly spraying the unbarably annoying kid next to him in the mouth. On accident, of course. He shut his locker and made his way to The Commons to join his sister.
Jakob moved towards The Commons, tapping out a beat against the strap of his bag as he walked. He flicked his mismatched eyes silently over all the people, all of the students. He reached one hand into his bag, his slender fingers brushing the faded edge of his music folder. He kept silent, though inwardly, he was humming along with the instrumental that played in his ears.
Diana watched, uniterested as the "lesser" members of her crew arrived. Popping her gum, as she looked at unimportant things on her phone to look like she had something to do. She looked up as Phebs sat down, then she went back to her phone. He'd almost made her late this morning because he took up too much time in the bathroom.
Jakob flicked an indifferent eye over Diana and her twin brother, his head still held high. He started to pull out his music folder with one hand while still tapping out a quiet rhythm with his other hand.
Diana looked up from under her long, lush, mascara covered eyelashes to watch Jakob. "The Virgin Heartbreaker" had held the heart of every boy in the school... Minus, him. She had spent most of her free time over the last month and a half thinking out elaborate plans to win him over and finally touch every soul in the school. But, nothing seemed to work on this guy. Which just made her want him even more. Well, not him, his heart.
Phebs, on the other hand, unlike like most of the jocks who spent of their nonsport time flirting and hooking up with girls, was studying for a test he later on today. His blonde curls looking very light in the bright light of the hall.
Jakob walked past Diana, ignoring her to look over his sheet music. His faded folder was thick an heavy with it, from crumpled stained papers, to crisp clean sheets with musical notes scrawled carefully on them. He turned up the volume on his iPod as the song ended and changed to another quiet cello instrumental.
Diana huffed and decided to head to her first hour class, choir, early seeing as nothing worth her while was happening out here. She left Phebs and the other people who's names she hadn't bothered remembering in The Commons and walked towards the arts hall way. It generally smelled of paint was usually filled with the sound of bands or choirs.
Jakob kept reading his sheet music as he made his way to the music room, pulling out a pencil to make marks on some of the sheets as he walked. He was completely oblivious to the world around him as he walked. He had the path memorized, so there was no need to look up an generally people got out of his way when he walked so he wasn't worried about anything.
Diana hummed a melody to herself, thinking of words to piece it together with. She enjoyed composing and writing pieces and songs, but she would never share them, ever. She pulled out her song journal and began to flip through it's pages trying to find lyrics with a beat that she could spend her time thinking of. Something to get her mind off Jakob.
Ada looked around the commons. Late. Most people had already left and she really didn't see anyone she knew, execpt Phebs. No way was she going to sit by him. She though of him as he was a jock. Not her type. It wasn't that she wasn't pretty enough, she was exotic and had that stunning factor. She just wasn't into the type who really didn't care about her as a person. Then she thought back over this... Sitting by him was better than sitting alone. Or... Well sorta alone. No one was around now so it would be alone. Though they always showed up when she was out if the presence of others. Ada sat down because him. "Hi." She said softly, not really looking at him. A few strands of hair had fallen out of her braid to cover the sides of her face.
Jakob finally looked up as he slid into the music room, pulling his music folder close to his chest and carefully tucking away his pencil. He immediately moved towards the piano, sliding a fond hand carefully over the smooth surface before quickly moving away.
