Try muttered something not very nice under her breath and shutting her diary with a snap she put on her nightsand making sure that the picture of her parents was hidden in her diary. "Come in." she muttered, crossing ehr arms across her chest adn glaring at the door.
Kyvan made sure his mask was on good before he unlocked the door and went in. He locked it behind him before he shut it and turned to face the girl as she sat glaring at him.
"How is your leg?"
"Worse than it would've been if you let me alone yesterday and not tried to kidnap me." she growled at him, he was wearing a mask, and had locked her in. If he was trying to gain her trust, he was failing totally. "What do you want?" she growled, keeping her arms crossed on her chest and her eye glaring at the man angrily.
Kyvan grabbed a nearby chair and turned it so he could sit facing the back of it. He was trying to put a barrier between them that her subconcious mind would pick up on.
"I first want to appolpogize. I didn't intend for you to get hurt. I thought you were a danger to my friends and I was trying to find out. Plus I knew that the soldiers were coming so if you were a bystander you'd get hurt anyway."
Kyvan studied the girl. Seeing if anything was helping in the slightest.
"The second thing I want to do is offer you a deal."
Try continued to glare at him angrily all through out his apology, which she personally thought was apthetic considering it was coupled with an exuse. "What type of deal?" she asked, trying to sound uninterested and bored, her words clipped with anger. Why was he wearing that stupid mask? Why had he locked the door? Why was he pretending to be nice and apologetic?
Kyvan watched as her glare deepened. Ugh. He had never been good with women. "Well, I agree to take off my mask if you agree to tell me a name I can call you by. It doesn't even have to be your real one. And if you except my deal you get to offer me one. So, do you agree?"
"FIne." Try satid, she pasued for a few moments, she wasn't going to give him ehr real name, no, that would be stupid. "You can call me Rhine." she siad, giving him her middle name. "Now take your mask off." she insisted, she'd given him a name to call her by, he ha dto do take his mask off.
Kyven nodded. "Rhine. That is pretty."
He grabbed the mask and pulled it off. He rubbed out his blond hair and blinked at her.
"Not too ugly, huh?" he chuckled nervously, he felt so exposed now.
He saw her food- sitting cold and uneaten. She probably thought it was poisioned. He leaned forward and grabbed a small roll and bit into it, trying to show her it was okay.
"Now do you have a deal for me?"
"Hmmm..." Try said, she saw him eat some of her food and reaching over took the plate of eggs, she took a tiny bite of them, "A pencil sharpner, a towel, a and some soap, these are what I want in return I will answer four of your questions no matter what they are." she told him, she took another bite of her eggs. She deicded not to ask for new clothes, she was fine with keeping on wearingw hat she had on now, she just wanted to take a shower. The pencil sharpner was for a different prupose.
Kyvan nodded. "Deal. First off, what did you see last night? Second, are you alone and if not where is your family. Third, who are you a civilian or a soldier. Forth, do you have any skills, and Fifth, do you know who I am?"
"First that was five questions. Second I saw the whole ambush, but couldn't make out any faces. Third off I'm a civilian. Fourth, my family ain't none of of your buisness. Fifth, I can fight, survive, make improvised tools/weapons out of almost anything, and um..." she paused, that was all she could think of that she was good at. She didn't answer the fifth question because it was a fifth question, there fore it was out of the deal she'd made.
He shrugged. "Oh, I know. The fifth was for my next deal."
He grabbed his satchel and patted it. "If you answer the fifth you get whatever is in my bag. And don't even bother asking what is in it because I won't tell you. You'll just have to gamble."
His mind raced though as he took in the information. She was still a very high chance of being a threat. Especially if she was a good fighter, and judging how she had used that knife last night he wouldn't put it past her.
"Yes I know who you are. You're a jerk." Try said, "And you were the leader of last night's ambush." she added. She finished her eggs and then took the tray wit the rest of the food eating it quickly, like she afraid it would disappear. She scraped her plates cleaned and drank down the now cold coffee that had been on the tray.
Kyvan laughed and tossed her the bag. It was full of girl clothes that he had traded for at the market this morning. He had felt bad about her clothes ripping the night before during the fights.
"I deserved that." He stood and placed the chair back in its spot. "I'll have the boy bring your things."
He pointed at a small door in the corner. "That's the bathroom. Don't get too excited about using it as an escape route the only way out is the only way in. No windows or anythign. And supper will be in a few hours. I hope you will join me for it. IF not I will see you again."
he turned to leave.
Try just nodded adn peeked into the bag, tehre were soem clothes in it. A set of jeans, a polo, some underthings, and a set of socks. They were nice clothes, not the best quality, the cuffs of teh jeans were frayed and the polo was a bit ding and missing a top button, but the were better than whats he was wearing now. She got up and hobled to the bathroom, where she lay her clothes out and looekd around.
"Red," Kyvan said as he relocked the door. "I need you to get her a towel, soap, and a pencil sharpener. And from now we show her the utmost respect. Still don't tell her anything of value- like names or where we are- but knock before entering and things like that."
Red nodded and hurried off.
"Your buttering her up," Bright said as she watched him as she leaned against the wall.
"It worked for you didn't it?" Kyvan smiled and pulled a small pendant from his pocket and gave it to her.
She took it and smiled. She then nodded at the door. "You should let me talk to her."
"I want her alive," Kyvan joked as he went past her to go to his room. "And besides we can't keep her here forever. It she never learns to trust us we'll just have to leave in the night."
"Or we could just take care of her," Bright said, her eyes flashing.
Kyvan shot her a glare. "That's murdering in cold blood. And you know how I feel about that. She is under my protection now Bright, just as much as you and your brothe Red are and everyone else."
"Fine," Bright said and she walked off, glaring at her door as she passed.
Darkyn stood over the plans. This would work to finally bring those Strays down. It would work if Risk continued to work for him and help him out.
Darkyn smiled as he looked over the plans. He could finally put that stupid rebel group to rest.
