Try put her coffee down adn rubbe dthe back of her neck,
"Why me though? Aren't there others more qualified?" she asked him, not looking at Kyvan but in stead studying the dark steaming coffee in her mug. She picked it up again and took a long drink, she knew she'd want plenty of energy and coffee and cafeine which should keep her awake and energizd, hopefully at least.
"Eh, most likely," Kyvan said, "But that goes for all of us. The prince is just a kid too. We all are here. But all of the adults who were willing to stand are beaten and have given up the fight. If they see someone as little as you be brave enough to stand up against Darkyn that'll give them courage."
Kyvan blushed, "Besides, I've come to trust you and you have a lot of fighting skills and..stuff."
Ugh! He was horrible with girls! Even ones he view as a little sister!
"And you've survived this long by yourself between your parent's leaving and joining up with us. If that isn't proof enough that you can handle what ever is thrown at you I don't know what does."
You picked me because I was little!?!? Try thought, then she heard what he said about her parents and nodded,
"I want to talk to you about my parents..." she siad drifting off as she spoke, she shook ehr head to clear it,
"I've been thinking, what if they're dead? WHat if they don't come back no matter how hard I try to please them?" she asked peering at her coffee, she looked at Kyvan, waiting for his thoughts on what she'd just said.
Kyvan thoughtfully thought over her question. He never had had a very high respect for her parents-- quite frankly he thought they were scumbags--but that would've been a very good reason why they hadn't ever returned for her. Most bad paretns just sold their kid instead of abbandoninng them. "When was the last time you saw them?"
"I was twelve." Try sid, "They both left with telling be where they were goig and never came back." she explained. "A week later the land lord came and kicked me out of the house. I searched through the city for a year looking ine very place that I could and couldn't find them." she added. She looked down at her coffee and took a another long drink.
Kyvan pondered this as he carefully thought of how to say what he wanted to in a tactful way. "Well...I think that they would've found you by now if they were alive. If they had wanted to just get rid of you they could've sold you for a few coins."
Try swirled her coffee in her cup, now she'd been thinking about she wasn't sure they'd come back if they were alive, but Kyvan might be right, maybe they wanted to come back. She drummer fingers on the table and thought about how they'd left, it hadn't been a pleasant day, they'd been angry at her before they'd just walked out. Real angry.
"I dunno if they would...they were mad at me when they left." she explained in a low voice, as she was talking to her cooling coffee instead of Kyvan.
((Sorry. I have been sick :( )))
"A good parent never just leaves a child. If you felt your parents were good, and judging by how loyal you are to them even with them being gone, I'd say you thought a lot about them."
Even if they truely were poop-heads, Kyvan thought.
"Their my parents, of course I think about them..." Try muttered, "I've been thinking though, your family here" she said waving her arm to show the house,
"Seems so nice and such and my family wasn't like that...Mom and Dad got mad at me all the time and beat me with a belt, but you guys don't do that and you seem like good people." she siad, she was talking like she was trying to figure something out, "So I dunno if my parents were good or bad...or just neither...I mean I want to know that theyw ere good but I just dunno any more..." she said dirfted off she finishe dher coffee adns atred her cup, she was probably boring him with ehr confused and what she thought were less than intelligent statements. She got up adns atrted to wash her cup in the sink.
((Aww, I hope you're feeling better.))
Kyvan didn't know how to reply to her. He sat at the table for a long time before slowly saying, "Well, if it counts for anything...we'd like to be your new family."
((I am thanks :) )))
Try finished scrubbing the cup, rinsed, dried, and put it away before answering,
"That'd be nice." she said. She wondered what her parents would do if they were alive and found out she'd first of all told someone about being bteaen, something was strictly told not to do, and had joined anotehr family. She looked at the clock,
"I should get ready for work." she added and left the kitchen to go to her bedroom.
((I won't be on too much this week I don't think. I have 3 major exams I have to study for T.T Pray for me! lol))
Kyvan smiled and watched her leave. He then got up and continued making breakfast. He knew he had a good feeling about her.
Kyvan set the table and got breakfast ready. Soon everyone was coming into the kitchen. Most of the older kids had circles under their eyes- like Kyvan had. He guessed they hadn't gotten a good night sleep either.
Red and Bright came in with the prince and sat down.
"Well," he said. "I guess we need to be discussing what our plan of action is today. No doubt Darkyn has been up to no good while we all pretended to sleep."
Kyvan nodded. "We need to wait for Tristian first. She is my captain after all."
Try yanked her hidieous uniform on, grabbed her hat and went back to the dinningroom where she sat down. Everyone was looking expectantly at her. She looked back at them,
"Did I do something?" she asked, rasing one eye brow and clasped her hands in her lap. She allowed ehr eyes to drift from person to person, hoping breakfast would be done soon, she was rather hungry.
Kyvan shook his head. "No. We were waiting for you to start talking about what our next plans are."
Ellesies nodded and scooted the chari between him and Kyvan out. "Sit down, Captain."
Bright pulled out some maps that he and she had been working on. "These are the tunnels in the Old sewer system. Multiple of them lead to the inside of the castle and aoutside of the city."
The prince nodded, "So what you are saying is that we can directly lead the army from the outside of the city straight to Darkyn's bedroom?"
"No." Kyvan shook his head. "The tunnels aren't all clear. We'd be popping in one hole walk until we reached a dead end and then be forced to surface. But these can help us start bringing more soldiers into the city and help us travel in small groups."
((Will respond later, gotta go for now..seeya GOD bless ya.))
((SCREENNAME CHANGE!! :-D Yes it's me, Honor. :-P))
Try looked at the plans and maps, she got up and went to stand behind Kyvan and the prince, peering over their shoulders.
"Do we know how many forces Darkyn has?" she asked, "What if we cuase a dostraction of some sort in the wilderness or on the out skirts of the city so he ha sto sen dmen there, thus lessening the amount of people guarding the palace adn making it easier to take." she suggested, she went adn took the oats off the stove and ladeled bowls out for people, putting a bowl in front of the prince and one in front of Kyvan, she astrted to eat her oats as she stood behind them and looked at the maps.
((I can always tell it is you if it has something patriotic. Lol ;)))))
"That isn't a bad idea," the prince smiled and nodded at Kyvan. :"You are right. She is a smart one."
Kyvan pondered. "He has hundreds of foot soldiers, tanks, guns, trucks, a few remaining air crafts, and a vast amount of supplies. My father and the king had been building up the stock for years before Darkyn took over. If we could cause a diversion and then attack that and destroy it or take if for ourselves we might then have a chance."
((Hehe, I'm so predictable. :-P))
"Tanks?" Try asked she frowned as she thought, she'd never seen a tank, when soldiers came by where she'd stayed she did her best to hide so no one could find her. She'd heard of tanks and air craft, but had never seen any.
"So the diversion we'll want toc reate will have to big, enough so he'll want to send soldier and maybe a tank of some trucks..." she said, she satrted to scrape her bowl.
