Avery smiled at her and gestured to his plate. The was a small pile of potato chips. "Want some?"
"I thought you'd never ask," she teased, grabbing a couple and putting them on her plate. She chewed on them hungrily, enjoying their taste.
Avery laughed. "Slow down there champ."
"I can't remember when I last had chips. That was another thing he didn't like - girls with proper appetites. He always said I didn't eat like a lady," Natalie remembered, taking more chips from his plate.
Avery smiled and gathered his chips from his plate onto a napkin and pushed them to her. "Take 'em." He began eating his sandwhich.
Natalie finished eating quickly and pushed her plate away. She sat watching the other people in the cafe. With the exception of the screaming couple in the corner, she noticed that they all looked incredibly happy.
Avery ate his sandwich and pushed the playe away when he finished. "Wow, you were hungry."
"Yup," Natalie agreed. "Do you want to order pudding or shall we just ask for the bill?"
Avery smirked. "I will ask for the bill." He murmured and flagged the waitress over.
The waitress tool her time in coming over, but eventually did with a sullen look on her face. "What?" she asked sourly.
Avery kept a bright smile on his face. "May we have the bill please?"
She went away and got it, slamming it on the table then left again. Natalie picked it up and laughed. "I can't believe it. She's left her number, even now she knows you have a girlfriend."
Avery laughed softly and took the bill from Natalie. "I'll take that thank you." He quickly paid the bill, leaving only fifteen dollars in his wallet. He smiled still and put it away, looking at the number. "This can stay here with the check."
"Right, let's leave quickly before she comes back and tries to kidnap you," Natalie said, only half joking.
Avery stood quickly, not leaving a tip. He took Natalie's hand and pulled her out quickly.
Natalie followed, wincing when they stepped outside the cafe. It was a lot colder than she had expected it to be.
Avery frowned and slipped out of his jacket. "Here, take it." He was now only in his tshirt and jeans.
Natalie pushed it back towards him. "You'll freeze," she scolded. "But thanks anyway."
Avery pushed it on her and zipped it up. "I'll be okay."
