"A glass of water would hit the spot," Eliza said.
Grandmummy nodded, "Yes, water for me too if you would young man."
Eliza pushed her to the table and sat crosslegged by her feet. She looked around. Her grandmummy had told her stories about ancient magic, and that she had some in her blood, but she had always thought they were bed time stories, but that man had also said Finn had magic in him. Just what was going on here?
alexander couldent help himself with women, although it was not directly he always strived to impress them, so he pulled a dagger from hin boot and threw it at the clif face wall, the dagger peirced into the rock quite far, as he pulled the dagger out he placed a bucket under the whole as water started to pour out from the rock
Finn smiled at Alexander's knife skills, you didn't find many kids who knew how to fight these days. "So this magic, where does it come from?" Finn asked the elders.
"There are a few theories; the fae, druids, and even a darker blood rite theory. We don't know." His uncle said, then he reached over and grabbed Finn's triskelion charm. As it left his skin, the golden stones stopped glowing and turned to a dull brown. Finn stared at the charm. "What just happened?" Finn asked, lunging for the charm. His uncle took it out of his reach.
"It glows with magic..." Finn reached for it again and his uncle slapped his hand away. "Careful! This is cursed iron and oll-pheist, it's explosive if it isn't neutralized."
Eliza blinked. Impressed by Alexander's abliity. He was clearly a trained fighter...just like she was, but her skills were more in hand-to-hand combat and wrestling. She had been taught at a young age by her Grandmummy how to fight- that is before her Grandmummy had a stroke and had left her dependant to a wheelchair.
"Eliza take you backpack and pull out it's contents."
Eliza slipped it off and pulled out and old book and handed it to her Grandmummy.
"Good. Now this is a history of our kind. We are desendants of a great man who could talk to the animals and they to him. He had many children and to honor the children the animals gave each one a special coat made from their own skins." Grandmummy opened the book up. "These skins gave the children ablities to turn into animals"
alexander poured fresh water into two smaller cups then sat down "im sorry but what are you talking about? i dont beleive in magic" he handed cups of water to everyone
Sensei smacked him on the back of his head "magic is as real as your knife or this water" his sensei liked to show humility to Alexander so took his cup and pourerd the water over his head
Alexander did not look amused at all
(( BUMP ))
"Thanks," ELiza said as she took her water and took a sip.
She looked at her Grandmummy, "What is all of this about anyway?"
"The ancient foe of our fathers has woken and is causing havoic." Grandmummy said. "YOu have been brought here to fight it."
Finn's eyes lit up. "Awesome. What now? Where is this 'foe'?" He asked excitedly. Nothing could be more fun then fighting monsters, he was sure of it... Even if he didn't believe in magic two seconds ago. His uncle scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Being all trigger happy like that is gonna get you killed." He said. Finn disregarded his uncle's comment, because he was under the impression he was invincible.
"Whatever, I'm ready. Let's go an kill something!"
Alexander ha a curtain of wait hair infrotn of his eyes "go and kill a fly in a Venus Fly trap without harming the plant" he sighed, he enjoyed training but he didnt want to go out and fight some enemy
Eliza didn't quite understand what Alexander was saying but she had a feeling that she agreed with the idea of it. "Just how are we supposed to defeat this big evil?"
Grandmummy pulled something out of her backpack- that old polar bear fur that she had kept in her chest for years. "With this my dear."
"oh great we are going to fight evil with prada and fur coats" he remarked with a slight grin
his sensei said "for you we have a pink dress Alexander"
Eliza bit back a laugh and hid it with a sip of her water. SHe could only imagin Alexander in a dress.
Grandmummy must've been thinking the same thing because she chuckled softly. "No, Alexander. You will be fighthign by using the furs' powers."
(( bump ))
Finn's uncle pulled a gray wolf skin out of his bag and spread it out. Finn didn't know much about evolution, but it was a giant wolf. He doubted any modern breeds could be that large. His uncle ran his hand over the fur before tossing it over Finn's shoulders. "This will take some practice. Focus." He said.
"Focus on what?" Finn asked him.
"Doesn't matter, just for once, clear your head and stop thinking of stupid trivial things."
Alexanders sensei appologised "im sorry alexander, but your family has your pelt"
alaxander finished his sentance "and its to dangerouse so they wont give it to me, great, just so i know what animal is it from?"
his sensei replied "a white tiger" and alexander just noded, he would have to break in to his own home to find it
Grandmummy drapped the polar bear fur over her and placed the snout- with teeth still in it- over her head so it stuck out like a baseball cap.
"Think about being a bear dear," Grandmummy advised. "It is in your blood."
Eliza glanced at the two boys. She sure hoped she didn't look stupid.
"Just do it," Grandmummy scolded and tapped her lightly on the back of her head.
"Fine," she sighed and closed her eyes.
Alexander sat and watched, waiting for something to happen, but nothing did she remain a girl with a bear skin on her..
Eliza felt so stupid sitting there with the bear skin on her.
"You're not focusing," Grandmummy chided.
"You try to focus with everyone watchign you," she muttered under her breath.
Grandmummy slapped her head again. "No backsassing me. Now listen to me and follow what I say."
Eliza grumbled somemore before nodding.
"Imagin the fur setling on you skin, becomeing a part of it. The legs wrap around yours and melt onto you, the claws become your claws, the shoulders become yours."
Elzia, even though she knew she looked like a compleat idiot infront of the guys, did as she was told. She imagined what it would be like- herself inside of the bear fur. Controling it.
Suddenly the fur did glue to her. Tightening aroudn her arms and sealing together around her torso. She opened her eyes in suprise.
"What is happen-" she was cut off as the snout and teeth snapped down over her head and conncted with the jaw.
Everything went dark for a second before she blinked and could see again. But...everything felt so different and weird.
"amazing, such anceint powers" he wlaked over to her rascinated, he loved to read the old tomes and although he said magic never existed he loved reading about the old magic the most "this cannot me real "he touched the fur and felt its warmth "but it is!"
Finn jumped to his feet with a grin, the wolf pelt falling off his shoulders. "Cool!" He said, reaching out for Eliza's, or the polar bear's ear. When he touched it, it twitched. "Sorry." He said. "Couldn't help myself." He looked around at the elders, and they didn't seem as surprised and fascinated as himself. Finn looked back to the wolf pelt and draped it over his shoulders again, closing his eyes. "I'll help you get the pelt, Alexander." Finn offered, before a strange rippling, shimmering effect started in his chest and spread out to his limbs. The pelt started to envelop him, and it felt strange, but he stayed still. When he opened his eyes again, he looked down at his furry paws. His grin transferred to his canine features, jaw open and tongue lolling. There was a strange wight behind him, and with a twitch of his muscles, he noticed his bushy tail. Finn tried to say something, but it came out as a sharp wuff and he started to chase his tail.
"Moron." Finn's uncle said, rolling his eyes.
