Juste looked behind at the other kids, he was happy that they were following.  Now he could make friends!  Then a worrying thought came to him and he looked at his scuffed shoes, What if they leave?  What if they go away forever like Papa and Pépé. he thought.  He halted when Rai said she heard people and watched her step out into doorway or whatever that opening was.  He stared at her his eyes large, waiting for seemone to jump out, his cap fell over his eyes again.  Juste didn't bother to push it up and just tipped his chin a bit so he could see under the bill.

Reshal frowns at Rai's comment, pushing her honey blonde hair out of her face, but remaining silent still. She slowly walks forward, staying just beyod Rai's reach in case the other girl were to notice her. Not that it matters if she does, she thinks to herself, shaking her head slightly.

"Wait," Sam steps forward and holds a hand up. "Don't you think if these people wanted to hurt us they'd have killed us while we were helpless? They told me they could give me answers and it will be hard for them to if they are dead."
Sam looked Rai dead in the eye. He hoped she wouldn't result to violence. That was the last thing Juste or anyone else needed. He had seen enough death in his life to know killling was such a waste.
"Let's go-" Sam was cut off as the door swung open and an old-grandmotherly-type opened the door.
"Good you are here," she smiled at them, not even hesitating in the slightest at the gun. "Come in, come in. There isn't much time."

Juste stared wide eyed at the lady who opened the door and then looked to Sam, Rai,a dn the other girl. he pushed his cap up, adn then smiled.  This woman seemed nice enough.  She looked old, but sweet, about as old as Pépé had been before he...Juste pushed thoughts of his gradnfather away from him adn stepped towards the lady, "Bonjour, madame." he said quietly.  He looked to teh older kids for reassuarnce that he wasn't doing something wrong and for protection in case this lady turned out to be mean.

Slipping the knife back in her shoe, Rai and the others followed the old-grandmotherly-type woman into a big, open livingroom type setting. Taking a deep breath, Rai glanced at Juste who was glancing around at the others anxious.

"Have a seat, we have a lot to talk about," the old lady says as she takes a seat in a big comfy armchair and gestures for the teens to have a seat.
Glancing at the couches; which were in prestine shape, Rai shook her head. Taking a deep breath, she answers, "No thank you, I think I'd prefer standing."
Juste glances at her, then the others. No one moved and Rai let out a muffled laugh.
"Please, children, take a seat," the old lady responds.
Rai looks at the others, still no one moved. Taking a deep breath, she walks over and takes a seat farthest from the old lady. Looking up at Juste, who looks a little scared, she pats the seat next to her.
" Venez, prenez un siège." She manages to summon up a genuine looking smile.
Tentively, Juste took a seat on the couch. Sam was next to him, Reshal was on the couch across from him, and the others followed suit.
"Thank you." The old lady leans back in the chair, a warm smile on her face.

Juste sat next to Rai and looked down at his scuffed shoes.  Nwo nervous, he was also slightly ashamed of his shabby attire.  The lady looked nice and her hous ewas nice, and he was dressed up in a dirty old hand-me-down uniform from the orphanage. He reached up and fiddled with teh leather strap around his neck and swung his feet, which didn't even come close to touching the ground when he sat down.

((One thing,Ttracey, generally in RolePlaying you would not have someone elses cahrie that you didn't create do something.  EX:  You had Juste sit down, when I idn't say that in my post.  That is considered PowerPlaying(PP) and in some RPs could get you kicked out.  Now I'm not upset about you haveing Juste sit down, it's not like you had him doing anything drasticly-story-alering, and you probably didn't know.  SO I'm just saying this for future reference.  OK?  Please don't be offeneded...))

Sharina hesitates slightly before sitting as far from the others as she could, studying them now that she had a chance. After a moment she looks at the older lady, bowing her head slightly. "Salve, mulier," she says respectfully. She had always been taught to respect her elders, so she assumed it would be safe to do so in this case as well.

Sam sat down, "This may sound really stupid," in fact it probably was really stupid, "But....with all of the toys and when I was saved I swear I landed on a sleigh..that was hundreds of feet in the air..."
The woman smiled kindly, "Go on."
"Are," Sam blushed, "ARe you Mrs. Clause?"
The woman chuckled. "Nick told me you children were bright. And you, Sam Goodfellow, have never stopped believing. Am I right?"
Sam gave a hesitant nod.
"I amd greateful to you for that," she nods at him and pats his hand. "And yes I am Mrs. Clause."
Sam beamed. "I knew you were real! But... where is Santa?"
Mrs. Clause's mood darkened. "That is why you are here. There is evil abroad.  An old evil has awoken. It is kidnapping children everywhere. Santa and the elves and I have been doing everything we can to fight the monster, but it is clever. ANd out of hundreds of children we have only managed to rescue you."

Rai waits a few moments to let what Mrs. Clause said set it. It's been a long time since she's believed in Santa, and it started a short while after her brother was taken by child services, that was 4 years ago.
Taking deep breath, she remembers the last thing she told her brother before they took him: Never stop believing, never. That was a long time ago, but it still seems fresh in her mind.

"So, I'm just going to be blunt. What do you need us to do?" Rai swallows hard and struggles slightly to keep eye contact with Mrs. Clause.
"Ah, Raien Jordon, you had a tough chilhood. You're baby brother Iysh, who was not much older than Juste was taken away from you. You stopped believing, yet you still hold on for him," Mrs. Clause says. Rai just nods and adverts her eyes.
"It's been a while, yes," she pauses and looks back at Mrs. Clause. "You still didn't answer the question. What do you need us to do?" Rai gestures us by rotating her hand in a circle, passing everyone of the kids in the room.

"Manque Claus!"  Juste said, smiling broadly now.  His eyes lit up with joy, he knew Santa Claus was real!  Nobody ever believed him though, they said he was stupid and childish to believe in Santa.  Now he could tell them, Santa was real, Juste ahd been in his house and met Mrs. Claus.  Then he paused as he heard what she said about the chdilren, "O-only us?" he asked, his eyebrows knit together as he thought, "What happen to to other kids?" he asked his English worsening becuase he was scared of the answer.  His cap fell down over his eyes again and he was lft with just a veiw of people's shoes and the floor.  He listened to what Mrs. Claus said about Rai.  Rai had a little brother!  He kept his eye son the ground, his hat bill still fallen over his sad yet smiling eyes.  He sniffed teh air, smelling something warm and delicious, his stomach growled reminding him it'd been about a day if not more since he had something to eat.

"So I assume you need us to stop this creature somehow?" Sharina guesses, pushing her hair back from her face. To be honest, she wasn't really a fighter, and this all seemed a bit too suspicious for her liking, but she'd give it a chance.
You don't really have a choice, she pointed out to herself, a slight frown tugging at her lips.
"And you only rescued us? I mean no disrespect, but how do we know - honestly - that you're not in league with whatever kidnapped us?"

"None taken, Sharina," Mrs. Clause nodded at her but her eyes darkened. "We are doing all we can and we actually are in over our heads, but that doesn't mean we can sit back and let innocent children be hurt. And we knew we could only saved a select few. That is why we saved you." She stood and began to pace. "You children are special. You each have talents that will be needed to defeat the monster. Santa himself could not defeat the monster. He was captured." He voice broke but she pushed on, "I would go myself but me and the elves must protect as many as we can."
Sam looked at her. He had a special talent? How in the world could throwing a baseball save all the kids in the world?  "What exactly do you want us to do?"

She looked them all over. "I have special weapons crafted for you. Only you can work them. I will arm you with these and specail companions to aid you.  Then you must find Santa and the children and free them."

Juste frowned, he felt tiny now.  He didn't have any talents!  He could play a fife, that wasn't exactly a great thing.  He alsow asn't sure how a tiny 9 year-old could help save the world, Santa, and a bunch of children.  But he wanted to see these special weapons, they were probably really cool.  He hopped off the couch and bending down started to tie his shoes again with fumbling fingers.  They'd come untied while they were walking over here, but he hadn't noticed until now.  He wodnered how he could be so nimble fingered while playing the fife, but had problems tieing his shoes well.

((NEvermind.))

Mrs. Claus said, "I am not going to send you in there helpless, mind you. We have created specail weapons and assigned helpers to you." She pointed to a large cedar chest by the door. "Go and look inside."
Sam walked over to it and opened the lid and peered inside. There were presents wrapped up neatly and stacked in there. Sam smile as he picked one up. "Hey! This has my name on it!" he looked back in, "There's one with for all of us in here!"

Juste frowned at his shoe laces, the bow was loose and would undo in 5 minutes probably, but he just wanted to see his present.  He got up and hurried over to the chest, he pulled out a medium sized box wrapped in paper with snowmen and reindeer dancing on it.  He also grabbed Rai's goft and walked back to the couch.  He placed her gift in her lap and then sat down next to her again.  He put his present on his lap and looked up at the other, deciding to wait until everybody got their present to open his.

Sharina raises an eyebrow, walking over to the chest and gingerly picking up the gift with her name on it, the slightest smile tugging at her lips. She toys with the wrapping paper, pausing and looking at Mrs. Claus.
"I... We can open them now, right?" she asks. She was curious as to what she had been given, but she wouldn't abandon having manners just because of that.

Mrs. Clause nodded. "Yes, go ahead."
Sam rips open his present and finds a pair of gloves. They are red and white and missing fingers. As he slides them on they seam to melt onto his skin, he can barely even notices that they are there.
"Thank you." He says as he turns them over. "But...I thought you were going to give us weapons."
Mrs. Clause chuckles. "They are your weapons. Test them out."
Sam furrows his brow as he turns his hands over and holds them out. Suddenly a bolt of light shoots out and hits a far wall. It leaves a sizzling burn mark on the wood.
Sam's mouth falls open. "I am so sorry! I didn't mean to."
Mrs. Clause waves him off. "You'll get used to them. You control them with your thoughts just like you do with your hands."
She turned to the others. "Do you like yours children?"
