guardianofthestars I call you for a 1x1 with my magical power!

Nov. 1, 2012 at 8:13 pm

((great))

Orr drummed his knuckles on the table and blew his hair out of his face. He and Bubba, being avid Bigfoot hunters, had done some recent searching, but a convention of believers? This was the best idea he had seen in months. He watched Cypress move swiftly through the crowds. He honestly had not believed she would come, with all of the work she was doing recently.

Fera leaned against the back corner of the room, her hands in her pockets. She didn't think that the idea of bigfoot contained even a grain of truth, though she found entertainment and great interest in people's beliefs and ideas of bigfoots.

"Orr! Bubba!" Cypress bent down and hugged them. "Oh my goodness it has been too long! How are you both?" she caught sight of a strange woman watching her and smile ans extended her hand, "Hi! I'm Cypress."

Bubba bit back a chuckle.  Cypress was as still as bubbly and kidish as when he had first met her five years ago.  The only thing different was she was a little taller.
He causually sipped his glass of coke as he waited for Orr to introduce the new girl.

Fera's face was solemn as she watched the three friends exchange stories. A crooked smile formed on her face for a moment, but it was fleeting. After all, she didn't even know the three.

Orr looked back. Her hands had left her pockets and were crossed over her chest. She appeared to be doing her best not to smile and laugh. Of course, the man in the bigfoot costume chose that very moment to appear on the makeshift stage.

Bubba watched in amusement as the show began.  Cypress slipped in beside him and began to whisper about her school life.  He looked at her pictures she had taken and looked at the new horse she had gotten. He smiled and nodded at them, but he was antsy.  Conventions had never really been a big thing for him. He'd rather be in the woods hunting or out fishing.  Besides they didn't even have BBQ here....

Fera slipped silently from the corner to a table beside theirs, he amused expression becoming more elaborate by the second. She didn't know why a whole group of people who believed that bigfoots were an existant species would care to watch a man dance around in a costume. She hoped that they would get onto something more interesting.

Orr turned around and noticed that the lone woman had sat down beside their table. She seemed pretty skeptical about the whole thing, but it was always nice when someone could look at the evidence for themself and say, Well, maybe they are real. He hoped that was what was going through her mind, but he doubted the performers were helping.

Cypress took some photos of the costum until he stepped off of the stage.  An announcer stood up and thanked them man.
"Now," the speaker said, "We are going to have a real treat.  We are going to hear from an expert Bigfoot hunnter."
Everyone clapped and Cypress put her camera down long enough to clap too.

Bubba sighed and glanced around.  Orr had better not have signed him up to speak....

Fera rolled her eyes. She doubted that anyone who had spent their lives searching for something that didn't exist could be an expert. But then, so many people had mistaken encounters with animals or people for bigfoot that she didn't know what they would come up with next.

Orr grinned. The speaker was the man who had found and cast Ohio's first Bigfoot track. He had also filmed multiple sightings all across the Pacific Northwest. He didn't know the guy's name, but he knew his deeds.

Cypress grabbed her camera again and began to take pictures of the crowd. She saw a woman crossed armed watching the speaker with amusement and skepticism. Cypress snapped a few photos of her. Bubba turned to Orr, "Not that this isn't fasinatin' and all, but when are we gonna hit the woods? All of this fancy smanshy stuff is all right but I thought we were actually going to go Bigfoot huntin'."

Orr laughed. "We've done so many hunts just the two of us; you need less than ten people to be stealthy in the woods."

Fera caught the light of a flash in her eyes, and turned toward a woman taking pictures of everyone in the crowd. She narrowed one eye and looked back at the people on stage. They were now showing films of bigfoot pictures that looked like people in gillysuits.

Cypress lowered her camera at the woman's frown. She hoped she hadn't offeneded her....

Bubba sighed dramatically, "I know, I know. You just know me. If I'm not in the woods physically I am mentally."

Orr had to smile. "Yeah, I understand that."

Fera allowed a half smile to spread across her face, just to show the woman that it was fine. Her passion was photography; Fera's was animal tracking. The people on stage were showing casts of tracks.

((Athena, I'm kinda running out of things to say. Is there a specific diretion you'd like me to take this?))

(Sure. Direct Bubba toward the woods. Have him propose the idea of forming the group. I'll have Fera inquire and ask them to prove the existence of Bigfoot. or just do what you want. I think the best direction to go would be towards the formation of the squatching group going out and searching for bigfoots all around the country)

((Okay, I can do that))

Bubba leaned in close to Cypress and Orr, "Why are we just sitting here listenin' to a bunch of hot air when we could be out there prooving that Bigfoot is out there?"
Bubba smiled. If Orr had thought his idea for this convention was something his was an epic break through.

Cypress grinned, "That's be so cool! And that'd make a lot more interestion documentary than this convention." she gets a dreamy look in her eyes, "Cypress Turner, the first person to get actual clear shots of the mythical creature Bigfoot. We'd be famous!"

"Fame and fortune is nothing compared to the satisfaction," Fera slid into a seat beside them. "Mind if I butt in? You may kill me for this, but I need proof that Bigfoot exists, and if you got photographs that proved it, then I would believe you."

Orr glanced sidelong at her. "You should look at the evidence that's already out there," but Fera shrugged and muttered,
"Hoaxes and misidentifications. If you go out there, I want to go with you, because when I see it, I'll believe it."

Bubba laughed and slapped the woman on the back, "Haha! Why not, Orr? What better way to prove the critics wrong than to bring one along and show her?"

Cypress grinned. It would be nice to have another woman along. Bubba and Orr were nice but sometimes a girl needed another girl to talk about things with. Like how boys were so silly sometimes...
"Oh, let her come, Orr!" Cypress smiled and bounced up and down.

Orr thought for a moment. "Well, you're going to have to get some equipment. Do you do tracking?"

Fera smiled. While they tried to prove bigfoots were real, she would be realistic about their evidence. "Yes," she said. "That's pretty much my job. I go up and I track animals like mountain lions, wolves, bears, and others." She turned to Cypress. "Out of curiosity, have you managed to get even an ambiguous photograph of what you think might be a bigfoot?"

Cypress smiled and shook her head, "I'm really not a believer or nonbeleiver of Bigfoot. This is my actual Bigfoot gathering that I've ever been to. Before this I just did documentories of people."

Bubba grinned. ANother tracker? This should be fun.

Orr put his fist down on the table. They were all ignoring the show onstage by now. "I propose we go to michigan. I've gotten a recent report there that I'd like to check out, and there is much evidence to be gathered."

Fera's glance flicked between the group of them. An odd lot, but no more odd than herself. She was stubborn, and she knew it would take an actual sighting to make her believe anything about bigfoots, but Michigan, where wildlife was common, seemed like a great place to start. "I concur," she stated.
