Rokkel smiles weakly, whistling lowly to the she-wolf lingering near her. "Calm, Shylii. I do not believe he means us harm," she soothes, stroking the wolf's head before looking back to Syro.
"No. Not in danger with others. Wolves hunt in packs for a reason. There is safety in numbers. We can learn from our animal counterparts," she states. "Sometimes we can even learn what the sacrifice is to become these majestic creatures."

"Sometimes we can also learn the future," countered Syro. "And these wolves may be a sign of good fortune, but there many dangers are coming upon us as well."

Rokkel crosses her arms over her chest, one hip cocked almost lazily. "Then I suppose in a way I could be considered a sign of many things, some of which you might not want to know."

Syro smiled mischieviously. "Well of course, I could as well. In fact, I could interpret them all for you, but I could choose not to. I could tell you your fate, but I don't think I will."

"I don't need some boy telling me my fate. Fate is not set in stone, anyway. Not to mention you're Shoshone," Rokkel says icily, copper eyes flashing dangerously. Shylii growls beside her, hackles rising.
"Hush," Rokkel sighs, rubbing the wolf's ears, not at all seeming afraid that the she-wolf would bite her.

"Well, sure. I'm just stating the truth. And I know that you're Shasta, so I'll make you a deal. We never saw each other, and neither of us were ever here. This night never happened, and we can just go back and pretend like we never met each other and avoid being in trouble with our elders. Deal?"

"Seems fair," Rokkel muses, shrugging slightly. "Though I'm a bit curious of why you decided to speak with me," she says, starting to walk away.

Syro shrugged. "I was curious myself, to why a young girl was out traveling with a pack of wolves, and I still am. But I won't pry." He started to stroll the other direction, back to the camp. He hoped he would find another fox, or something to eat, on the way.

Rokkel sighs, shaking her head slightly and slicing her palm open, whispering the words to change into a wolf. She shudders, a soft gasp of pain passing her lips, yet otherwise she transformed silently.

(I just made up the name for the prophecy god...)

Syro walked solemnly back to camp, his bow and arrow held in a defensive position, in case an animal crossed his path. "Roga," he said. "What do I do?" The question was broad, but a silver spirit appeared in his path. It was that of a fox, glittering with starlight and its paws prancing like that of a ghost.
Follow, whispered a voice; the voice of Roga, god of prophecies. Follow.

Rokkel hardly remembered what happened in her animal, everything blurring in a mix of scents, sounds, and sights, but somehow she ended up back at the border. Why am I going in circles? she thinks to herself. She would have frowned if she could have, but of course, being a wolf, she couldn't always make the facial expressions she wanted to.

Syro followed the voice, but a delirious mind kept him from walking. Two must become one to overcome the evil lurking beyond, Roga spoke to Syro. Two must become one, but Syro hardly heard him.

(If I can find it, Deadly.)

Rokkel shudders as she begins to shift back, gritting her teeth in a silent grimace. "Ow," she mutters. "Chareya, give me some sign, some explanation, of what's happening," she whispers, relying on the Shasta god of creation as she had most of her life.

Syro collapsed to his knees. His vision was obscured, his utterances slurred into nonsensical mumblings. Help! he thought desperately.
Two must become one, the voice continued. Two must become one. The repetition burst Syro's eardrums.

Rokkel shakes her head, staggering as a sudden wave of longing washes over her. "What is this supposed to mean?" she whispers, hesitantly letting the tug on her soul, the very core of her being, lead her over the border.
What's happening to me? This doesn't make sense, she thinks, shaking her head, trying to force back the fog obscuring her thoughts as an image of Syro flashed in front of her eyes.
You must help him in order to save yourself. Remember, Daughter, the wolf that hunts alone will die. The wolf that has a pack survives.

"Who?" he shouted, stumbling back toward the Shasta border. "Who?!? I don't want to die! What's going on?"
Danger is going on. You must fight with another. Danger is there as well, but not as great as the peril you shall face alone.
