Are you a sap who likes to do 1x1's?

Raven examined this. "Hmmmm..." She sniffed the air and made a face. "Well it wasn't a vamp. But it doesn't completely look like a mix either..."

Antonio looked around the body. "Two fangs. That's about all I know about this kill. And I HATE not knowing!" His exasperation was evident in his manner as he paced the room searching for clues that he understood.

Raven rolled her eyes. "Honestly, the scent is strong enough I could follow it like a trained dog."

"Yeah, well I'm not a vampire, so I wouldn't know," Antonio responded sharply. "I can't smell like that." He paused. "Just out of curiosity, is there any way that you could identify the scent? What is it?"

"Something that would taste horrible." Raven shook her head. "Give me a few days, possibly a second kill by the same culprit. I could find your killer."

Antonio could not keep the grin from his face. He knew he needed to work on the Grayson murder, but that was an easy one. The bullet was traceable, and he had already traced it to a handgun owned by Grayson's heir. The police were going down to the estate and investigating. If the gun is not at the estate with Grayson, and he claims it was stolen, then he had a problem, but otherwise, the case was easily solved. Contentedness rang in his ears. But not for long, because in order to catch a vampire, he needed another kill. And he knew where to find one.

Raven quirked a brow at his silence. "Antonio I can't read minds. I don't know what you're planning."

Antonio chuckled. "Meat market," he mumbled. "Yes, that's it." He turned to his comrade. "Raven, I think we need to pay a visit to the meat market." He stopped abruptly. "Do you think that a mix, or a werewolf, or whatever killed this person would go for a dead animal?" There was a twinkle in his eye that suggested he was formulating an elaborate scheme.

"If they were hungry enough..." Raven said slowly. "I don't know, a plan involving that could work..."

"I've heard that pork tastes like human meat from various peoples who test these things..." Antonio trailed off awkwardly. "But I don't like going into the words of those peoples, so maybe this would work at night. Meat market, it is. You never know if you don't try, right?"

"It's worth a try..." Raven admitted. "But you do realize you're getting into dangerous territory you can't get out of, right?"

Antonio raised one eyebrow and chuckled. "Why, that is my specialty," he said with a ring of dark humor.

Raven rolled her eyes. "I'm putting your blood to good use if you die." She told him bluntly. "Because it's likely you will."

"You have my full permission," Antonio granted. "Though I've been told that before, and yet I am not dead. Now-- to the meat market." He put on his hat and strode out the door, not checking to see if Raven was following him.

Raven followed a few paces behind him without saying anything further on the matter.

Antonio sorted through the meat market for two hours until he found a rind of pork that fit his descriptions for his plan. He also bought steak for his lunch, because he knew that he would be hungry once the set up was complete. Humming a happy tune, he walked to the abandoned house near downtown.

Raven followed him silently and curiosly. She disappeared once or twice to snatch something off of someone she could sell later, stealing right under his nose.

Antonio watched her unclasp a necklace from a woman's neck, but her little thefts did not bother him. All his life, he had focused on murders and serious crimes, and his latest case was so intriguing that nothing could deter him from his plan. It was then that an officer passed him by, tipping him about two dangerous kills in the country. Oh, this land was full of crime, and Antonio had to state that he preferred it that way, as to satisfy his passion. One a vampire kill; one by the killer of the Grayson murder: same bullet, same gun, NOT Grayson's heir. Well. That case had deepened. He looked at Raven.
"We're going out to dinner," he said simply.

"Sounds good to me." Raven told him. "I think I could use some real food for a change now..."
