"Sharp eye..." Raven muttered, before moving in a blur and jumping on him. She would have tackled him to the ground but didn't have the confidence to do that. She'd have to take him by surprise and get a bite in as soon as possible, draining him of his strength before he could fight her. That was the plan anyway.
Antonio dodged her sudden attack with an air of indignance. He'd known she was going to attack him, but what he didn't know was why.
"Let me go!" he shrieked. "What do you want?" He tried to draw his gun, but couldn't take his hands off of the girl's shoulders lest she wound him while she had the chance.
Raven tried and failed to get in close enough to bite his neck, and only his neck would do to disable him fast enough. She still struggled against him, but knew she was in a back position, in which if he tried, he might be able to pin her down. She didn't answer him, but her eyes were red, wanting for his blood.
He turned toward her, and spotted glistening fangs protruding from her mouth. Although a skeptic, he could not deny what he could see in front of him. "You!" he said with shock, still struggling beneath her weight. "You are the one who is responsible for all of those murders!"
That stopped Raven dead. "What?" She blinked at him and shied away a bit. "Who? Me? I wouldn't hurt a fly." Even with what just happened her innocent act was convincing. Still she knew it wouldn't work on him. Why was he accusing her of the murders?
"You're a vampire!" Antonio shouted. "There have been vampire kills all through this town, and you MUST be the one responsible!" He was certain that he had jumped to the right conclusion.

Raven shook her head, flashing a fanged smile. "No, I'm afraid that's crazy. There are at least three vampires in the area including me. I'm just the one who seems the most adventurous."
"Yes, that's certainly true," squeaked Antonio hoarsely. "Now could you get off of me and refrain from sinking your teeth into my neck? If you know that there are other vampires, you may be able to help me find them."
Raven pouted, like a little girl. "But I haven't had a good drink in so long! Come on, I wasn't going to kill you..."
Antonio sighed. "All right I'll make you a deal. You can drink my blood, as long as it's not enough to hurt me, but only if you'll come back with me and help me find who is killing all these people." He held out his wrist. "You're not taking my neck, though." He couldn't believe he was doing this, but at the same time, he had learned something about himself: he would do anything, literally anything, to solve a case.
Raven shook her head. "I'd rather drink from the neck of a pro.sti.tute with a blood disease than drink from a wrist for such an unfair deal."
Antonio rolled his eyes. "Well, then you can drink from my neck, but I don't want you to take enough to hurt me. And I need your help. This other vampire; he's killing hundreds of people. I don't know much about vanpires, but from what I gather, most of you don't kill that many people."
"Well there are such things as serial killers, and when those people become vampires they have all sorts of fun." Raven shrugged. "If I drank from your neck, it wouldn't be enough to put you in danger, but it's hard to control myself. But I'll make you a different deal, one that doesn't involve hurting anyone, not exactly."

Antonio swallowed deeply, trying to hide his relief. "And what might that be?" he asked, with a farce of businesslike authority.
"Keep me fed." Raven said simply. "Provide me a steady source of human blood- I don't care if it comes in a bottle- And I'll gladly lend you everything I have of help."
"hmmm..." Antonio considered the deal. I knew where he could find human blood, but it would be a complicated process. "All right, but I'm going to assume that you don't mind drinking from victims who are already dead, because that's the only source I have up in my mind."
Raven bit her lip. "It would depend on the cause of death, and how recently they died, and possibly other things. That's sort of a tricky one." She tilted her head to the side. "Where would you get it from?"
"I'm a detective. I investigate recent murders. Nothing due to sickness, and time of death is easily determined. There are enough convicts around here that not all deaths are due to vampire attacks. Now if you're going to help me, you'll have to see the evidence." He stood up, and beckoned for Raven to follow. "Come with me."
