"I'll teach that girl to mind her tongue." She faced him. "NEVER and I mean NEVER walk her home again. Never look at her. She's even more worthless than you are, and that's saying something."
Gem glared at him. "You walked the girl who so obviously is in love with you home. You. Can't/ Do. It. You should be in love with me! I'm prettier, and smarter!"
"Yes! She is desperatley in love with you, probably because you are the only human being stupid enough to be kind to her!"
((Fine with me! ♥ ♥ I DID IT! I MADE HEARTS! :D))
Lapis groaned as she opened her eyes. She strectched out, smiling slightly at the memory of the night before. He had walked her home.....he had talked to her. Wow.
Lapis shot up. "Coming!" she cried out. She quickly got up and began to make her way up the stairs. quivering in fear.

"I was so tired! Please, I'm sorry!" she began to sob. "I'll get your food for you right now!"
Gem stormed down the stairs and to the fridge, muttering under her breath. Her green eyes were red and puffy, and she had large dark circles under her eyes. Her mini tank top was wrinkled, and so were her shorts. Obviously, she was a woman who had not rested.
Lapis nodded, wincing back tears.
Gem brought out some v.o.dka and swallowed down some of it, muttering about "stupid Lapis".
Lapis winced, but did as she was told. She finaly brought up all the food and his wine. She hated it when he got drunk, but there was nothing she could do.
She turned and ran up the stairs. She saw the clothes and winced. The tight, sheer black shirt had a very low neckline, and the back....well, there was no back. The skirt was extremely short as well. Lapis put them on and went downstairs to the car. She started the engine.

Lapis quickly began driving, doing her best to make it seem natural and effortless, and not succeeding very well. She noticed that the passed the Critton's house, and she turned her head slightly, though still keeping one eye on the road. She wondered what Judah was doing.
Lapis looked straight ahead, cursing herself for thinking of Judah. They finall reached her master's work and she pulled up in the usual spot.
Lapis scurried in behind him. "Here!" she cried. She gulped as she gazed sympathetically at the other girls who did what she had to do.
Lapis kneeled down and looked at the little girl. “Hello. What’s your name?” she asked gently, yet firmly, which meant that she, very nicely, expected an answer. She looked into the little girl’s eyes and saw so many emotions that she herself felt. Loneliness. Despair. Hope. Longing. Sadness.
"What a lovely name. Mine is Lapis." She smiled encouragingly at the little girl. "How old are you?"
Lapis smiled softly. "I remeber when I was nine." Life had been a whole lot easier back then......much easier.
Lapis looked up at the girl. "I'm 14!" It had been a long time since she had met anybody near her own age.
