(Outside of the facility. It would probably be best if I posted first.)

Scaling the hill on the once beautiful Oregon countryside, Robery observed the landscape around him before turning back to the group still huffing and puffing behind him.

"Come on! Unless you want WICKED Bergs (flying machines of the future) over our heads, you might want to get over this last hill. After that, we're golden baby!" He shouted with a bit too much glee. Turning to face the wide expanse before him again, he surveyed the rolling hills of the state before picking out a good dense thicket of trees. Waving the group forward, he jogged down the hill and towards his desired location.

Being a runner sure does have it's perks. He mused to himself as he trotted at an even pace, slowly distancing himself from the group.

Autumn and Winter caught ran together at regular speed, they might not have inhuman speed but they were faster than most average poeple. "Were home free." said Winter. "believe" said Autumn equally excited.

Ari sucked in a deep breath of fresh air, God that Robery kid could run. She hated having to run so fast, it made it harder to take in a scene. She kept up with Robery at an even pace, not wanting to overexert herself too quickly. She listened to the footfalls of the others behind her as she made her way up beside Robery
"Hey kiddo we heading for the trees right?" she asked. The trees seemed like a good idea, but here good ideas might not be the best.

Robert, unwinded, nodded at Ari. (Are you mispelling my charries name by accident? Lol).

"It's the safest place to set up camp for the moment. Once we lose all trails we can keep moving. I know that there's a city somewhere near here, and a rather populated settlement inside it. If we can make it there without getting noticed, we're good for at least a week." Robert stated, stopping to wait for the rest of the group. Before the flares had come, he had been a champion cross country runner. One of the best in the nation, home bred right here in Oregon. The legend among some of his fellow athletes was he had run across the whole state once, just to prove to everyone he could. Although half true, the legend wasn't accurate. That isn't to say Robert never denied it. Shaking the thoughts off, he stared at the rest of the group as they struggled their way down the hill and towards him.

Winter and Autumn saw Robert stop and began racing each other to get there 3rd they sped and sped down the hill passing many of the other kids and then they both came in 3rd place. "ugh still unconclusive." said Winter.

(Ah, I am soooo sorry, I have this problem with T's and Y's lol. It's cuz the letters are so close together)
Ari laughed as Winter and Autumn came in a tie "Good try girls maybe one of these days one of you will win" she said jokingly. "And that's a good idea the trees will be great camoflage. Although we don't really look city worthy" Ari looked at herself and the rest of the group, they were bound to stay out. Even street trash didn't look this bad, she would know

Robert laughed at that, and sat down in the midst of the trees. Looking at his surroundings, he found a small, flat area to set up in and trotted over to that. Plopping himself down again, he lay back on the dirt and sighed. Even with the red sky, it was good sometimes to just sit back and watch the world go by.

(Gonna pack it in for the night. Later!)

"Well I say for the moment we try to rest and think this through when we aren't so tired" she said sitting down. She knew they couldn't stay here forever but they also couldn't go to a city. There was a limited number of choices they had.

"Well while you guys were thinking about escaping." said Winter. Autumn threw a smile on "We thought of after," said Autumn she pulled out a whole bunch of clothing different sizes for regular people in the city. "We already picked out our clothing" they said in unision "so you just have to pick yours."

"Oh wow girls way to go!" Ari said happily "But we might wanna wait to change after we get cleaned up.  I wonder if there is a river around here" Ari looked around and then said alound "Well it looks like there is one close by, though I'm not too sure as to the approxomite distance so we can get cleaned up there then change clothes. Does that sound like a plan?" She asked, thankful that this wasn't starting off too incredibly difficult

(Oh forgot to mention, the two can't live with out backpacks, which is why they stole them and secretly got clothing.)
"We can climb up in the trees and look." suggested Winter "Yah it would be no problem." Reassured Autumn

"So do you see anything?" She asked Jury, hoping it wasn't too terribly far away. She wanted to be kind of helpful in this

"No." Robert interjected as they discussed cleaning themselves up in a river. Sitting up, he looked at all them. Are you stupid? His expression read.

"You do realize how polluted, not to mention wild, the river would be?" He asked, standing up and moving closer to the group. "It would either carry you away, or kill you from radiation."

When the flares struck the world, the polar ice caps undoubtely melted, boosting the level of every water system in the world by exponential amounts. With this new amount of water, everything became choppy and wild.

"I know a way we can clean off, but it's a bit uncomfortable." He grumbled and looked around on the floor. Grabbing a few pine cones, he drew his knife and went to work whittling the leaves(or whatever the things are called.) until only the base, laced in sap, was left. Placing the base on his grimy forearm, he rolled it forward and then pulled it up. It created a swath of clean skin on his body, as the sap stuck to all the dirt and grime and pulled it up with the stick.

Ela remained quiet when Robert brought up the idea. When others followed and repeated the process for themselves, she stayed off to the side.
"Gross.." she murmured quietly to herself.

She went over to where Jury was. "Doesn't that hurt?" she asked sincerely.

"Yeah sorry but I am so not doing that" Ari said slightly disgusted. She looked over at Ela and said "And it looks like I'm not the only one who thinks that way" She ran her fingers through her hair and after she got the tangles out she braided it back. After licking her hand she began scrubbing off the dirt and used her shirt to wipe it off. "It doesn't work amazingly but I used to do this back when we could use water"

Ela smiled and nodded to Ari. She knows what it's like to make use of what little resources she had.
Ela didn't bother trying to get the dirt off of her. She didn't wax or lick or swim or whatever they did.
She just let her thoughts wander silently.
