Eldrie smiled down at the ground, poking a rock with her foot. At least she knew she wasn't the most socially awkward one here. That was a small comfort, anyway.
Putting her hand out awkwardly, keiran shook his hand. She wasn't overall very comfortable with human contact, but she had already made a bad impression. She didn't need to alienate anyone further.
Finn was sitting on the ground drawing a dragon in the dirt. He wondered what was out there, and he hoped there were dragons or something else crazy. Then he realized he was hungry and wondered what they could find out there to eat. He started to drum his fingers restlessly on the ground. When Finn looked up, the others seemed to be talking about something serious. Finn wondered what he missed. "I'm hungry." He said, smiling brightly. "Let's go see what's out there."
Eldrie looked down at what the boy had been drawing. Craning her neck, she saw it was a dragon. Her eyes widened in surprise. The kid had talent.
Not that she'd ever get the nerve to say so, of course.
She watched the others, waiting for someone to act on his request of food.
Rory went into his bigger bag and pulled out some apples the city here had a bunch of gadgets so he had alot of fressh fruit and Fresh animals. "Here" He tossed the apples to Finn. "No need in going hungry." he replied modestly
"Thank goodness," Oliana muttered. "When Finn gets hungry, all h*ll breaks loose, complete with ice skating demons."
Eldrie laughed, then covered her mouth, feeling eyes turn towards her.
She focused again on tracing a line in the dirt with her boot.
Keiran let out a tiny chuckle and moved a bit closer to the group again. They weren't the worst bunch, but she still didn't feel comfortable talking freely with them yet.
"You better believe it." Finn said darkly, taking a bite of the apple. "Thank you." He said to Rory cheerfully. It was a little strange how he could drastically change in a matter of seconds, but he had always been that way. "When we start exploring, we should keep our eyes peeled for dragons and beasts and such. There has to be something so interesting and intense out there. Why else would they keep it from us?"
Rory smirked. "There might be, but I'm hoping to find some dogs and cats it said in books we used to have pets such a weird name for an animal, it also said that people would pet them and feed them stuff, that must have been torture from them. It also said they banned pets because they caused owners stress or something. There was even a picture of this terrible looking wolf with sharp teeth. I can't wait to see one."
Taran had sat at his T.V. and waited to hear the results. He had a numb feeling when his name was called, and said nothing as he was drug away. He was thrown out with other people his age and a small pack shoved into his hands. He stood there for a moment and let it sink in. Then he turned and said, "Um, hello there. My name's Taran." He wasn't one to speak to a group so quickly, but he knew that they'd have to depend on each other for survival.
Eldrie raised her eyebrows, suddenly interested in the topic of the conversation. "You know, my sister used to have a so called 'pet'. She found a little puppy once and she couldn't bear to get rid of it..." Eldrie trailed off. She could never quite speak of her sister without her throat closing up.
"Oh, so they aren't furocious." he replied. A little bummed he recovered. "Can we hear more about your sister she sounds very nice." he said
"Oh um..." Eldrie shifted. "She...she was exiled, years ago." She swallowed. "She's dead."
Taran shifted from side to side, waiting for a response. When none came, he walked over to a nearby stone and sat down.
"Oh." he said sad he brought it up. "Well you don't know shes dead she could still be alive. Some people say not all the exiles die." He whispered the last part quietly.
Rory suddenly looked around not everyone was here he turned around and saw another kid on a stone. he walked over there. "Hi, Taran right, I'm Rory I am 18. Are you hungry." Rory holds out an apple
Keiran gazed at her empty hands. "Oh, I , I didn't know we were supposed to bring a pack." She muttered, embarrassed for her foolishness. Of course they had to bring a pack, they were going out into the wild. How had she not known this.
Taran said "Nice to meet you" and "Thanks when offered an apple when someone started talking, saying things he already knew. Then the suggestion of unpacking came up, and he decided to look to see what he had. Traveling buiscuts, jerky, assorted dried fruit, foil looking blanket, jacket, and canteen. "Well, a bit more prepared than I thought." he said to himself.
"It's ok," Eldrie said. "We can share. It's no problem." She emptied out her pack. Biscuits, meat, fruit, blanket, jacket, same as Lydi's. She handed Keiran the jacket. "I have my own."
