Liam gulped. "From the picture you showed me they looked like they could very easily beat me to a pulp. And I quite enjoy having all my limbs attached to my body thanks." He knew from experience that older sibling would often do anything to protect their younger brothers or sisters.
"Nobody is going to beat you to a pulp on my watch, Liam.",Claire said with a smile on her face. "I promise." Clark was very overprotective of Claire for some reason, but she doubted that he would do any harm to Liam.
"I'm sure that's what Lisa told her boyfriend before my three oldest brothers beat him up," Liam snorted. "Although, to be fair, he wasn't treating her right and I would never do that to you."
"Well, as long as you treat me decently to an extent that I can handle it on my own, I dot see any point for Calvin and Clark to interfere.",Claire said honestly. Her nose began to drip red blood again and she covered it with her hand before it dropped onto the floor. She quickly grabbed a tissue and used it to aid her nose. "Sorry about that.",she mumbled.
Liam frowned, passing a large box of tissues towards her. "Promise me you'll get that checked out tonight, or tomorrow at the latest," he said seriously. "It's my job as your boyfriend to care about your welbeing."
"My well being is top natch, but if it bothers you that much, then I will go and get it checked out as soon as I go home.",Claire said. She would do it to make Liam happy, although she dreaded the doctors.
Liam took both her hands and smiled at her. "It would make me very happy," he told her. "You know if you're scared I'd be happy to come with you."
Claire was hesitant with her response. She wanted to bring Liam with her so she knew she was safe, but he probably didn't want to go. "No, it's alright, I don't want to tear you from the comfort of your own home.",Claire said indirectly.
Liam snorted, looking around his bedroom. "You're not tearing me away from anything. Once you'd left all I'd be doing is playing computer games, wondering whether it seemed clingy too call to check you're ok, avoiding my family, thinking about you, wondering whether to call... Really, you're just saving me from a large headache."
"And your mother would be alright if I took you away from her for just a little bit?",Claire asked as her eyes turned to a teal color. "I mean, I don't think it should be long, because I don't think it's anything too serious."
"I think she'd rather I had a legitimate reason not to be spending time with her than just the fact that I'm terrified of her interrogating me about my new girlfriend," Liam said. "Seriously, I want to come with you."
"Well, I'll call Calvin and tell him to pick us up on his way home. Then we'll go to the doctor and get me checked out.",Claire said as she reached for her phone. "Sound like a plan?" She wanted to make sure Liam was alright with it, but Clark called in the interim.
"The school nurse called today, she said you had a nose bleed is everything alright?",Clark asked.
"Yeah," Claire said into the speaker of the phone,"I just might have to go get checked out by Doctor Wilhem."
Liam sat on the beanbag, fidgeting with his hands while Claire made her phone call. He tried not to listen in to the conversation but it was hard not to. He wasn't sure whether Clark knew about his relationship with his sister.
"Calvin told me you were at a boy's house.",Clark said as he continued to drive recklessly in his black motor vehicle. "I can pick you up and we can go straight from there." There were multiple beeps in the background.
"Yeah. If you wouldn't mind, could he come along too?",Claire asked shyly. "He doesn't live too far from our house."
Clark sighed into the receiver. "Yes, he can come along. Can you both be ready in twenty minutes?",he asked.
"Sure. Bye.",Claire said. She hung up then and looked over at Liam. "We have twenty minutes to be ready.",she told him. "How disheveled do I look?"
Liam smirked, taking in her appearance. "Not quite as disheveled as I wish you were, but if you're trying to make the two of us seem like innocent angels then you'll probably pass," he told her. "Depends on how suspicious Clark is."
"I think we should be alright.",Claire said with an innocent smile lingering on her lips. "I haven't done this ever in my life, so I don't think he'll be expecting anything."
"That's good," Liam smiled. "I won't have to worry quite so much about how awkward it might be to explain to anyone that we've know each other less than a day and yet we're already together and well..." He trailed off, gesturing to his touseled hair and swollen lips.
Claire did secretly wonder what people would think if they found out that her and Liam were going out only after a day upon acquainting. A random question popped into her head, and she decided to ask. "Would you rather I tell my brothers that we're together? Or would you prefer to not tell them?",she asked politely. She didn't want to exploit their relationship to her brothers if Liam didn't want her to.
"It seems only fair that you're able to to your brothers since somehow my entire family already knows," Liam said. "But really, I'd also be completely happy with not telling them. Just do whatever you think is best."
"Then tell them I will.",Clare said with a smile upon her face. "I think it might be easier that way I don't have to sneak around as much." As much was the key word. She knew that her brothers were somewhat strict and they wouldn't allow her to spend every waking moment with Liam.
