"I suspect you expect me to pay for both of us." James told her, not yet wanting to bring up what he really suspected.
Olivia's face relaxed totally. "Yup," she said with a grin. "And I know the perfect movie to drag you too."
"I get the feeling I'm going to still get my horror fix for the day." James mumbled, before chuckling. His cell phone vibrated and he frowned, looking down at it to read the text. It was Charlie, his girlfriend. He didn't reply, putting the phone away again. "Off we go then."
Olivia began walking backwards, facing him like always. "Who was that text from?" she asked curiously.
"Charlie." James replied shamelessly.
Olvia's pace slowed and her face went a shade paler. "Oh."
"What? Who else is it going to be?" James asked, "I don't text anyone else hardly." He shook his head. "She's ticked off with me. I don't feel like dealing with it right now."
Olivia perked up slightly. "Why is she ticked off at you?"
"She wanted to go to the movies today, but then when I told her I already had plans to go see one with you, she blew up at me." James said with a sigh, "Was even angrier when I refused to cancel. And you don't want to know what she said when I wouldn't agree to see a movie with the both of you."
"I think I can pretty well imagine. It would have been the same thing I said if you had turned me down for her!" Olivia sang out and began skipping backwards.
"Oh please don't do that," James said worriedly, "You're goign to trip and fall and it's going to be a big bloody mess."
Olivia rolled her eyes and slowed down to a walk. "Yeah, whatever."
"Hey, I might be breaking up with my girlfriend. The last thing I need is for my best friend to fall and get hurt. Or worse..." James told her.
Olivia's face broke into a large grin. "Really? You really might leave her?" she asked him excitedly.
James gave her a hard look with a frown. "Hey, I understand that Charlie really doesn't like you and all, but you could at least pretend to be concerned about the heart-breaking part of the matter. Geeze, Olivia, if I didn't know any better I'd say you either want me to be g.ay or to go out with you."
Olivia ignored the latter bit of his answer. "Alright, then. HOw's this?" She began pretending to cry. "Oh its so sad! Your heart will be broken by a pchysco b*tch who you don't care about! Oh, boo hoo!"
"Hey!" James protested. "I cared- Okay, no, it's pointless to argue when I know I'd lose that one. You have to admit she's hot though, and wasn't that bad at first. She just gets too needy and jealous and demanding." He shook his head. "Next girl I date is going to have to be willing to put up with me hanging out with you."
Olivia's face clouded and she turned to begin walking like a normal human for once.
"But I don't know, I think I could use a break..." James said thoughtfully.
