Next to Bailiff, Alex's eyes began to twitch, then slowly open as she slowly began to wake. She let out a stretch and a yawn and tried to stand up. Pain shot through her legs and she let out a yelp, waking her up the rest of the way. She turned to see Bailiff, and began to remember what happened.
"Ugh how am I supposed to get dinner now!?" she then looked at the tree. "I wonder if I can climb without using my legs..."
"Micheal.",Josie began to yell as she ran out to go find him,"Micheal, Alex is up!" She took hold of Micheal's hand and began to drag him back to where Alex had just opened her green eyes.
Micheal ran over just as Alex had grabbed the branch right above her and picked her up.
"I know what you were thinking, and that's why you don't get crutches. You will stay around the clearing and nowhere near any trees." He had carried her into the clearing before she could even speak, setting her down by the fire. "Now dinner is almost ready, so just sit tight."
Alex stuck her tongue out at him and crossed her arms. She wouldn't be able to climb trees for... forever! It was so unfair. She blamed Keifer for making her jump out of the tree and didn't want to see him. Her legs were still sore, which added to her crabbiness.
Josie grabbed hold of one of Baliff's big finger in her little hand and looked up at him with her gray eyes. "Mister Baliff, will you eat all of my food for me? I'm not hungry and Mercy makes us eat brocoli sometimes." Josie wasn't the hugest fan of brocoli.
"Sowwy, Mister.",Josie said as she held onto her bunny with two hands now, wrapping it in a tight hug,"Now, when I go off I'm gonna need you to cover for me, okay?", she asked she was just about to walk inside, but then she stopped. She saw a fish jump out of and back into the ocean. It looked so free and beautiful, it was a purple color.
Josie went inside to see what Mercy was cooking. "It smells good in here.",she said explaining her presence,"Do you need help with anything?" She looked up at Mercy, of course she wouldn't need help, she cooked dinner almost every nigh by herself.
Alex wondered what Bailiff was doing. She was so incredibly bored. She didn't know what to do besides try to make him talk to her. It was like a game to her.
"Bailiff, come here!" She yelled, not wanting him to leave her alone while he fed animals.
"You've done well, Keifer." Dean said with a smile, hauling the pig off the fire. The air was filled with the smell of cooked meat. Dean laid the birds and the sow on the wooden planks that suited as a table and cut a slither of meat off the pig. He peered up at the mountains while he was eating and wondered what he could find up there. There could be deer or goats, or any number of useful herbs and plants. Dean's mind was made up to explore the mountain before he even finished eating. He slung his bow over his shoulder and headed off to the other side of the island. The group wouldn't miss him that much, today's kills should last awhile.
Faith walked over to Dean in one of her rare appearances into the sun, her face extremely neutral, almost bored.
"You going hunting?" She asked, not changing her facial expression. "If so, I'd like to join in... As long as it's in the shade..." The thought of killing something right now was slightly... exiting to her. But she kept her face bored and emotionless
Dean looked from Keifer to Faith and back to the mountain. "I don't want ya'll to get hurt." He said, readjusting his bow on his shoulder. "I have no idea what's up there," He said, pointing to the summit of the mountain. "I was going on an expedition I guess you could say." He shrugged. "Climbing mountains ain't easy." He added as an afterthought. "But if you two really wanna come, I don't see why not."
Faith rolled her eyes at the kid, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Whatever, I didn't want to come anyway." She pretty much hissed at them. She turned on her heel and started to walk back to her shelter.
Alex held out her arms for him.
"Help me up, I want to walk to the animal place with you."
"Keifer," Dean said, suddenly serious. "Half the girls here could kick your butt. You can't keep up with this superiority complex, otherwise you might not have any friends." Dean watched Faith go, if she would walk away due to a five year old's insult, she was probably better off at camp, not climbing a mountain with said five year old. "Come on, Keifer." Let's go, he said, setting off for the jungle.
Dean chuckled and shook his head. "They think the same thing about us, but we're not strange, we're just different." Dean couldn't wait to see what Keifer would turn out to be like in a few years, or any of the children for that matter. Then he started to think about the future of the island and their group, and it made him melancholy, so he started to think about what could be on the mountain instead. "Have you ever tried archery?" He asked Keifer, "It's the best way to hunt."
Josie walked outside back into the setting sun and got down on her knees. She prayed to God that one day, either far or soon she would be reunited with her mom and her dad. She wanted to see them so bad, she wanted to see her mother's beautiful face and compare physical similarities. "Please..",she begged as a tear formed in her eyes. She couldn't stand it, at least Alex had a brother here, she had no relatives on the island. All she had was Mr. Cottontail.
[Ahhh cra.p. I am so behind >_<; What has happened so far?]
((Alex woke up and Baliff is with her, Josie wants to go in the forest to look for bunnies after dinner, but she's currently on her knees praying/crying to God that her parents find her soon. Dean was with Keifer who wants to learn how to hunt. Mercy is making dinner.))
Julian had went off to the shore, fishing spear in hand. He squatted on his rock, eyeing the colorful fish that weaved in and out of the coral right under the glimmering surface of the water. Raising the spear above his shoulder, he threw at a school of silver fish with force and precision that took him months to master. The fish scattered. Widening his eyes at the pool of blood, he pulled out the spear and smiled with satisfaction. Two silver fish flopped weakly at the end. Propping the spear behind his neck, he splashed into the shallow water and waded to another area where he kept his fishing net. He didn't really expect his luck to continue, but he found fishing to be extremely peaceful. Even if just temporarily, he suspended his worries and responsibilities, leaving them behind like the blood blooming in the water. He whistled cheerfully, shielding his eyes from the sun, content to be alone.
