The Gift of Prometheus (A Percy Jackson and the Olympians + HoO RP) Lit. Ded.
ALRIGHT FOLKS! READ THIS WARNING BEFORE JOINING! WARNING! Please do not join this roleplay unless you have read the entire Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series AND the Heroes of Olympus Books. This roleplay will include information from the Heroes of Olympus, and will take place in that time period-ish, and it will also include Romans. WARNING OVER.
So, that clears some things up first! Another reminder; this RP is completely separate from the one that I started a few months ago, though I will be using my same character for plot-line purposes. Anyone who was involved in the last PJatO RP may use their previous characters, if they want. So, here’s the plot-line.
The story takes place after the Titan War, in the months before the giant uprising, and a new threat has arisen. The Titan Ouranos, dwelt in silence during the Titan War. But now the War has ended, and he’s beginning to stir with an evil plot. He plans to steal the one thing that mortals and demi-gods alike use. The gift of fire.
No one knows how he’s going to be able to do this, but if Fire is stolen from mankind, they will be reduced to mud-dwelling Neanderthals, and monsters will overrun the world. The idea is, is that Fire represents all electronics, all signs of ingenuity. That means taking away creative thought and weapons, anything created by people.
Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood both rise to the occasion, sending out quests, each with four people each. The two camps have the same goals, even though they don’t yet know of each other’s existence. They know they must find Prometheus, to aid them in finding and protecting Fire.
SO. This will be the plot-line. What’s coming next is integral also to the storyline, but it has to do with my character, Adrienne. My character is the daughter of Kronos, and she fought on his side during the second Titan War, and is considered ‘wanted’ to all Camp Half-Blood dwellers. The campers think that she perished in the War, but in reality she’s been in hiding, biding her time. The Legionnaires see her as a wanderer, a tag along, really. Can you see where this is going? Adrienne is going to purposely lead the two quest groups together, even though she’s considered a ‘bad guy’.
OKAY! Now that that’s all cleared up somewhat, here are the rules.
- LITERATE LITERATE LITERATE PEOPLE! I cannot stress this enough. I don’t want some wimpy two liner post that conveys nothing but a line of dialogue. Tell what your charrie is thinking. Make the story come alive!
- I’m gonna say it once. If you are joining this RP, you better stick with it. The last one died since so many people joined up, and a lot sort of abandoned it right in the end. I’m not pointing fingers or anything, I just don’t want this to happen to this one.
- Romance is allowed! But please people, keep it PG! No, not PG-13. PG. I’m not even in highschool yet. I don’t need to know about this kind of stuff.
- Stick with the plot. Please. If you have this really brilliant idea, I’d sure like to hear it before it’s implemented.
- There are a lot of gods and goddess’s out there. Be creative, if you want. But I don’t want anyone to be related.
- Also, take in mind that you’re going to be questing with people! And the people you’re going to be questing with are going to know you, and you’re going to know them! Talk to other people, and get some relationship stuff sorted out. Like maybe two people have this grudge against each other, and a crush against someone else.
- There are four people for each camp. Four Campers, and four Legionnaires. Whatever happens, there must not be more than two females in each group.
- I’m sorry for all who wanted Posiedon as a father, but I’m afraid he’s already taken by Suiseiseki, who is the co-creator of this RP, and was in my last one as well. So that means there is already one female spot taken on the Camp Half-Blood side.
- And a friendly warning, I may reject a character. But I will also tell you what’s wrong with the character, and you may fix him/her accordingly.
- Also, follow all the no-brainer rules listed in the Guides. No PPing, etc.
- All of Rick Riordan’s characters are not going to be played in this RP at all. They may be mentioned, you may have ties with them, and I will be playing Chiron and etc., if necessary. But Reyna’s still the Praetor of Camp Jupiter, but you can bump off Dakota or someone and create a different person to be the leader of the Fifth Cohort and such.
Camp Half-Blood Charrie
Appearance: Be descriptive! Write a whole paragraph! Absolutely positively no Mary/Marty Sues. Give them a demeaning feature or something. Well, I guess if you’re a child of Aphrodite then you can slide for this.
Personality: Keep it interesting and non-controversial. I don’t want to see ‘kind and sweet to friends, but will kill anyone in her way’. Yeah, no.
Bio: Yes, yes you do need a biography. C’mon, it’s not that difficult.
Parentage: Remember, no repeats.
Abilities: Not everyone has an ability. But some godly children are equipped with powers. But remember, nothing is all powerful. Percy can’t summon random waves of water out of no where. Your child of Poseidon can’t either. Jason can’t summon ten lightning bolts in a row. He feels faint after one.
Weapon: Describe their weapon of choice and name.
Camp Jupiter Skellie
Rank: Which Cohort do they belong to? What’s their status? Are they probatio?
Lineage: Remember, not all the Romans at Camp Jupiter are directly descended from the gods.
Abilities: The Romans don’t seem to use their abilities as much as the Greeks do. But be sure to include their weapon abilities too.
Weapon: Remember, the Romans use Imperial Gold.
I believe that pretty much sums things up! Don’t bother asking before you join, just post your skellie. If you have any specific questions, don’t be afraid to ask, I will answer to the best of my abilities. I will be posting my skellie shortly! :)
May I join?
My mom's calling me, and I don't have time to create a whole character yet, but my I be one of the Camp Half-Blood kids? A daughter of Apollo? If you'll let me, I'd like to reserve that spot.
I'll write out a skellie as soon as possible.I'd really like to join a nice, clean, rp! =D
((Yes, Bekah, you may join! It's alright, I understand. And yes, you can have that character. And also, as I forgot to mention, I don't want to have any charrie younger than thirteen ^^ :))
(May I also join? I'll be a Roman; one who is the son of Pluto :) And I'll get my skeleton up ASAP; it might take a while for me to reach an actual computer ^.^)
((Yay! Nacho! Yes, you may join. :))
Name: Adrienne (She has no knowledge of her last name)
Parentage: Adrienne is the daughter of Kronos, the Titan Lord of Time.
Appearance: Adrienne is very short for her age, a subject that sits sorely with her. She’s around 4 foot 9 inches. Her skin is deathly pale, as she avoids being outdoors a whole lot, and spends a lot of her time in the Underworld. Her face is heart shaped, with a smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Her hair is an inky jet black, roughly cut to about chin length, but otherwise entirely choppy and spiky. There are some strands that hang down to her shoulders even. Her features are razor sharp and hawkish, a strange look for such a young girl. Adrienne’s eyes are a burning gold, and her eyebrows are sharp and straight. Her nose is small and pointed, and her lips are almost none existent, and almost always twisted into a scowl. Adrienne has a murder’s brand of a dove on her collarbone, and the names of all she killed in the Titan War (in Greek) seemingly branded into the inside of her for-arms dark black.
Wears: Adrienne always at all times wears a black leather jacket with the sleeves pushed up to her elbows and a black newsboy cap that’s a little too big for her. She also wears a light blue tee-shirt with a purple flower on it, and light stone-washed jeans tucked into tall flat boots that come up to her shin. Her jeans are worn and have grass-stains on the knees. Her entire appearance is rather worn, since she’s always on the run.
Personality: Adrienne is a fierce, hard person. Very clever and sly, she’s excellent at tricking people. Her childhood was stolen from her, so at times, she does act very childish. Her pride is insufferable, and will argue any point. Especially her height. She’s slightly cruel, and insults people, always pushing them further away. She’s completely afraid of attachments, and completely adores her father. Adrienne doesn’t laugh or smile, and everything has to be done her way. She’s willing top do anything to save herself, or keep herself safe. One thing that drives her is her absolute hatred of the gods. The only reason she’s helping the questers, is because she just wants the gods de-throned, not the world destroyed. Adrienne is also seeking a way to cleanse herself of her blood debt. For every half-blood she saves, another name disappears from her arm. Adrienne also feels that she’s now responsible for all her father’s work, and will often refer to herself as the Titan Lord of Time. Adrienne is also extremely terrified of heights and water. She can’t swim.
Bio: Adrienne came to Camp Half-Blood when she was ten, not knowing anything about her past and completely confused as to who she was. She was a difficult person, and never really fit in well at Camp Half-Blood. Then, her father claimed her, and the gods captured her before she could escape, and they grueled her in Olympus for information that she didn’t have. With the help of her father, she escaped Olympus before the gods killed her, and started recruiting for the Titan army. She was caught twice before the war started by Camp Half-Blood, and rode into battle on Kronos’s side. When Kronos was killed, she faked her own death and fled, terrified that the Campers and the Gods would find her and persecute her, though she could not escape the brands that were burned into her skin. In her wanderings, she learned of the Romans, and spent some time at their camp as a daughter of Pluto. She never joined the camp, but was nicknamed the ‘Wanderer’. When the quests were issued in both camps, she vowed to help them, and hopefully pay off the rest of her debt.
Abilities: Being the daughter of Kronos, Adrienne has power over time, which gives almost uncountable knowledge. Though, she never flaunts her power, and uses it according to the unwritten laws of the Fates. She can see into the future, and often has brief debilitating glimpses, in which it appears that she faints. She can reduce time to a liquid state around her. She also has an uncanny knack for predicting near events, and it’s impossible to surprise her. Adrienne uses her power sparingly, though, as she is intelligent enough to know the consequences.
Weapon: Adrienne always carries with her a seemingly rusting pocket knife with the name of Apyothine, which she calls ‘Wielder.’ For each apparatus on the pocket knife she flips, a different weapon appears. Her weapon of choice, however, is either a small knife, or a large scythe.
((My character's bio is important, as it will help with your character's reactions to her and such ^^
Oh, and if anyone's interested, I drew a picture of my charrie ages ago :) ht tp://rosey-thorn.deviantart.co m/gallery/#/d4siuke ))
((Freedom, yes you may join! I'm glad there are people willing to be Romans! I don't like them very much :P And me neither!!! Have you read the Mark of Athena first chapter yet? :))
((You can find it on the Internet, and read it there ^^ Yes, having a child of Poena is fine :))
(YAY!! May I join? As a Roman daughter of Neptune? I can't wait for the Mark of Athena!!!)
(Normally, I'd be a Greek daughter of Poseidon or Athena, since I'm so obsessed with everything Greek. But I thought I'd like to try something different and be Roman.)
((Yes Skyye, you can join! :))
(So the daughter of Neptune isn't taken? If so I will be a daughter of Minerva.)
((Well, there is going to be a daughter of Posiedon, so you could still have a daughter of Neptune if you want. It may be better to have a daughter of Minerva, but it's your pick.))
(I'll get my charrie up for tomorrow. I'm having a little trouble getting him out of his shell lol)
(Okay, so I'll have a daughter of Minerva. I'll post her skellie tomorrow.)
(I wish I could join this---it sounds absolutely delightful, and I love the series/co-series---but I'm in too many roleplays as is. :/ But I wish you all luck in a good, long-lasting roleplay! :D)
((Aw! I would've loved to have you in this RP Carson :( But I definitely understand. I should've resisted the temptation to create this since I'm already involved in a bunch, but I couldn't let go of the idea. Thank you though! ^^))
(Gah, I'm afraid I can't come up with a character, and I might run into dedication problems :( I'm sorry, Rosie! D: I will be seeing you in the Shakers roleplay, though. Again, I'm really sorry!)
((Aw darn! It's alright, Nacho. You're always welcome back if you change your mind, though. And for the dedication thing, it was just last time I had people disappear for weeks on end without warning, and it can always be stretched a little. Thanks for taking an interest in the RP in the first place, though! If you can think of anyone else who may be interested, be sure to send them this way, since this isn't filling up very fast ^^ :))
((may I be a girl? greek child of demeter, maybe?))
((Freedom, what a great skellie! I love him, he's very realistic ^^ Ethy, I think all the female spots on the Greek side are taken are already taken. But you may have a Roman female if you want, or a Greek male, since we don't have any of those yet :))
