Hey again! So first things first, I'm making something clear- this RP is not open to new RPers, I'm sorry... :( But we already have bucketloads of people involved and even more charries in it. So the people who were in on the planning thread/have been cleared for this one are the only ones allowed in for now. If, halfway or so through this Book, I deem it possible for a few more people to enter, I may make an announcement in a new thread, but until that hypothetical moment, nobody else, sorry. :(

To people from the old RP, I have four new people in (in case you were unaware): Skyye/Jesse, ChiRo/Archy, Raver, and kinda sorta Lizzie (she's completely in the RP, but only sorta new- she was briefly in the first installment, and is now using brand new charries.)

Okay, no posts until I say- I would like everyone to repost charries, but I'll be reposting rules and stuff once more, just so people can reread them as reminders/references instead of having to hunt down a whole 'nother thread. :)

AVATAR: HEALER OF EARTH

It has been two thousand years since Avatar Aang defeated the Phoenix King Ozai in a War that spanned the entire globe. The Avatar has since passed into many more incarnations, including Aang's successor, the Southern Water Tribe's Korra. Now, though...now the world is a much different place.

In this futuristic city world called Xian Da Fe, where Bending is a crime punishable by death, the Grand President Ni'Xian has been grooming his daughter Ekano Seigatso for preparation as his successor in the floating capital city of Bujio, built on the location of the former East Air Temple. Both father and daughter are caught up in a dangerous game of secrets and deception with one another.

Eight Avatars, known as the Unfulfilled, have been killed in succession as children, most not even mastering their native element, much less all four and the mighty Avatar state. The current Avatar, native to the Underground Earth Kingdom, is a teenage boy named Bao, who has recently begun amassing a small but loyal following of young practitioners of varied Bending arts and other skills.

The girl named Sensaina, a product of a heinous government experiment, was one such companion.

While Bao and his motley bunch of companions (consisting of two Firebending girls named Akako and Hinohana, his best friend Jinkun, two younger children by the names of Kaori and Jengi, Sensaina herself, and Bao's mysterious guardian Kameron) hid  out in the mining mountains of the Northeast, providing Bao with not one but two teachers of the art of Firebending, rebellion was alight in the heart of several young people hailing from Bujio and other parts near and far. The girl Ekano and her young bodyguard Bei Kun had, through various circumstances, found themselves traveling with an Earthbending prisoner named Kokoro and three Waterbenders of the infamous Fekkara: Ichiro, Chi, and Amayah. After Kokoro escaped with the help of a mysterious pro-Bender organization, the group learned of an arranged marriage organized between Ichiro and Ekano by their parents, Ni'Xian and Kasumi- second-in-command to the cool and manipulative Fekkara leader Nekkara.

Despite attempts to escape, the group was brought back to Bujio; a location two young people by the name of Peng and Ruri, hunting for Peng's homicidal sister Akako, had come to, as well. The Avatar's group also came to the city, searching for the kidnapped Sensaina at the hands of the mysterious Kameron, who further solidified his reputation of always having an ulterior motive.

At the Presidential Wedding, Kameron attempted to assassinate Ichiro for the murder of his family years ago. The panic caused a chaos, which grew into riots, as it so often does. In the said disaster, Fekkara Tower (Ta Shui) was caught aflame, and the upper levels were burnt. During the ensuing chaos, a mysterious battle ensued between the young Bei Kun and Nekkara, culiminating in both of their supposed deaths when they tumbled off of the tower together. Their bodies have yet to be located. At the same time, the girl Sensaina’s Airbending was used in battle in ways that made her appear to be Bending all four elements, leading many to believe that the girl is the new Avatar.

With Ichiro taken to a safehouse, Peng and Ruri parting ways after he revealed himself to be an Airbender, Avatar Bao leading his companions, including the newly-joined Kokoro, to safety, and Bei’s friends mourning her passing, martial law was declared across the city of Bujio.

That was one month ago.

Now, no one is allowed in or out of Bujio. The government is doing its best to squelch any rumors regarding an Avatar, but the fire is spreading. The shot of Sensaina was cut as quickly as possible, but millions across the world saw her deeds. Some believe her to be the Avatar, while some do not, but everyone agrees that something is happening in Bujio. And they are right…

The Fekkara, with their newly-instated leader Kasumi, are under stricter-government  control. Missions are usually undertaken with both Fekkara and government anti-Bending-equipped warriors, while both groups are struggling to fight against the Blue Spirits, who have experienced a recent surge in membership- the reveal of a still-existing Avatar has inspired many Air and Firebenders to strike back at the government that oppresses them.

A growing number of non-Benders the world over are beginning to sympathize more with Benders, while far more are more afraid of them than ever, leading to an anti-Bending hysteria in many parts of the world.

Meanwhile, the UEK continues to remain in isolation, leaving the problems of the surface world to itself while trying to rescue any and all Earth Benders that they can.

The Presidential Wedding has been postponed.

Xian Da Fe’s Bending civilians want freedom to be as they are, but with a world this damaged, it’s impossible to say what they’ll have to do to get it…

INFORMATION Pt. 1:

Clothing/Fashion: The middle and lower class wear clothing roughly akin to that of the modern day, but with futuristic/sci-fi twists to it, like glowing bits or metallic shoulder pads, etc. The upper classes wear clothing like traditional Chinese or Japanese people would wear- kimonos, robes, and tunics. Colors are not restricted to Bending.

-The Fekkara wear mainly grey and blue clothing, and all wear them, since they're basically a cult. The male Fekkara members keep their heads bald with minimum hair, like braids or mohawks. The women keep it short, too, wearing it in strict buns.

-The Blue Spirits wear normal clothes when not "on-duty", but otherwise they wear black jumpsuits with subtly-glowing lines and markings of red or yellow, based on their Bending type. (Red for Fire, Yellow for Air.) Commanders in the group, and its leader, wear jumpsuits with white lines and markings. All members wear Blue Spirit masks, like the one Zuko wore as the Blue Spirit.

-The military of the Ni'Xian wears white tunics with black leather armor that contains built-in force fields, providing it with extra strength and support. They have tight helmets and sunglasses, and carry batons and laser pistols or rifles which can be set to various levels, with only the highest being fatal.

Technology:

Like I said earlier, weapons of most of the population (the non-Benders) consists of laser weapons (your typical "pew-pew" blasters from most sci-fi shows) that emit green lasers. These can work like machine guns, rifles, pistols, cannons, and even grenades, with the explosion emitting pure electrical energy that causes massive damage.

-Air can just barely affect the direction of these lasers, but not enough to really deflect them. Fire has no effect on them, but a person capable of bending Lightning may be able to destroy a person's weapon. These lasers can shoot through Earth and Metal, but Water Benders may be able to shoot water at the laser if quick enough and expert enough that nullifies it, causing it to sizzle out of existance; they could create a shield of water, but this can be burnt up/evaporated by enough blasts.

Force fields are also in existance, and are also green in color. These deflect the four elements if directly attacked, but if the generators are found, Lightning and Water could both destroy them. These are used in prisons and to cordon off crime scenes and other restricted areas. Air Benders could possibly jump over and Earth Benders dig over, but some stretch high and low, making this tricky.

Vehicles include hover-crafts, commonly referred to as 'Verks, and can zoom through cities at speeds of roughly 200 miles an hour, max. 50 is the common speed limit, though. All vehicles are floating/flying, including variations of tanks. Aircraft is extremely compact and swift, and the military uses state of the art technology. Many suspect they are even experimenting with space travel, but that won't really be a part of this RP (no aliens! XD )

INFORMATION Pt 2:

Everyday Life : People eat food that you'd normally find in modern day Japan, such as rice, sushi, noodles, stir fries, tea, etc. Certain other modern staples like french fries, breads and rolls, and various fruits are also common. Children of the upper class attend prestigious schools, and while there are public schools, some lower class children work to support their families, often skipping school. Most of the population is afraid of/racist towards Benders, but others don't care either way, while a small percent actually support Benders' rights.

As far as religion goes, there is no state-mandated or sponsored one, but ancestor worship is common, as is atheism, and a belief in reincarnation and karma (the ideas that based on your good or bad actions in this life, you will be reborn as someone better or worse than your current identity).

People marry anywhere from the ages of roughly sixteen to thirty-five. It's illegal to be married younger and uncommon to get married older.

The World/Geography : The City stretches across the entire world, covering all of the former Fire Nation and most of the Earth Nation. What once was Ba Sing Se is now a large, half-buried ruin, taking up roughly fifty square miles. The city/world, referred to as Xian Da Fe (pronounced shen- dah- fay ) is divided up into sectors, of which their are forty-one. Each has a governor, and traffic from one sector to another isn't closely monitored far out. The closer, however, one gets to the capital city of Bujio (pronounced boo-shee-oh ), the more security you have to go through.

Don't be fooled, though; the government will try and find and kill Benders in any of the city's various areas.

Have you all seen any of the Star Wars movies? In the last three chronologically (or first numerically- Episodes 1, The Phantom Menace; 2, Attack of the Clones, and 3, Revenge of the Sith) the city planet where the Jedi and the Senate live is called Coruscant. That's very similar to this new world. The city has hundreds of levels, with Verks racing from one to another. The upper class and government officials reside in the higher, beautifully pristine ones, which have greenhouses, beautiful fountains, and high-quality rugs and apartments. The middle and lower class make the lower levels their homes. The lower you get, the darker it is, due to only artificial light being present. It is damp in some areas, but in others you can see the towers of the upper ones. The lowest level is level 2011B, and it is the only one on solid ground. Hardly anyone but rats actually live down there, not even the homeless and impoverished. Deep below that level, though, is where the Earth Benders live...

There are no teleporters or beams to get someone from one place to another, but elevators

INFORMATION Pt 3 :

- History : People mostly regard tales of Avatars as just that- tales, inspired by Benders in earlier days. Ni'Xian and his forces, however, believe the cycle has been broken, but do think it once existed. Kids don't learn about Bending in school other than acts of evil ones from the past five hundred years or so (remember, it has been two thousand since Avatar: The Last Airbender, so most people don't know anything about Aang, Katara, Zuko, etc. It is possible that very old rich families will still have family trees that they kept, much like the Blacks in Harry Potter.)

No one except historians calls the areas the "Fire Nation" or "Earth Kingdom", etc. The Air Temples long ago faded into oblivion, tumbling into the sea...all except for the Northern one, which has become a factory for Verks, and the Eastern one, which is now a city entirely floating by Verk technology, and is the capital city of Bujio .

The Government : It's officially a Constitutional Monarchy, with a Parliament called The Apple Court. This group of sixty men are elected by all non-Bending citizens of ages sixteen and up, but usually the elections are rigged, and the representatives become puppets to Ni'Xian, the dictator. He's actually called the Grand President, but he has no "checks and balances." Each sector has at least one representative, and some of the larger ones have two or three.

Groups :

- The Fekkara is a group of Waterbending extremists who number, in total, about five hundred. There are three groups of them, and they all live in relatively abandoned areas. The best synonym for this group is "cult." They are led by the ruthless woman called Nekkora, a name which means "Death Like Ice." I already talked about what they wear...Their goals are, quite simply, to murder all the Benders on the globe. They believe Benders have abused their powers by failing to stop the Poles from melting, and now think Bending is just a necessary evil they can use to deliver the Earth's punishment upon Benders.

They worship the Earth (not the element, the planet) and think they can hear the spirits of it, especially the Ocean and Moon, talking to them. Nekkara claims to get her orders by communing with those two spirits, and most of the Fekkara (pronounced feh-kah-ra ) believe her. Nekkara (pronounced neh-kuh-ruh ) has made an alliance with Ni'Xian, unbeknownst to the general public, and the group works with his soldiers to try and hunt down Benders. Ni'Xian is alright with this, because part of the group's teachings is that once the last non-Fekkara Bender is dead, they will all let themselves be taken by the sea and drown, as a final, insane punishment.

One does not get recruited into the Fekkara, one is born into it. Children are raised with these mad teachings and do not attend school, cut off from the outside world. Nekkara was aware that their numbers are diminishing, though, and had hatched a scheme to try and take over the government from within by a marriage alliance and murder; she also wished to make Amayah the next leader of the Fekkara, sensing incredible potential and power within the girl.

INFORMATION Pt. 4 :

Groups, cont. -

- The Blue Spirits - Though not as..."fanatical" as the Fekkara, this group is just as dangerous. They are on the completely opposite end of the spectrum in terms of beliefs; to them, non-Benders are inferior to Benders. They want to rebel against the government and overthrow it, giving Benders freedom. They are kind and encouraging to all Benders, but think that because of the world they live in, Air and Fire Benders are the ones best suited for combat, so the group is composed entirely of them up to this point.

They are very similar to a gang or guerilla fighters, and are much smaller than the Fekkara, containing perhaps fifty members total, only in one sector. They mainly specialize in attacking military warehouses and blowing stuff up, but haven't achieved all that much yet. However, they are all extremely well-honed in their fighting styles. The Airbenders have developed a very deadly style of Bending which shall be discussed more later on, and don't believe in the peaceful teachings Airbenders once had.

Ryuu is the leader of the group, due to being the most powerful Bender. At any time, someone may challenge the current leader. If they can defeat them in a duel of Bending, they become the new leader of the Blue Spirits. Ryuu, however, has faced five challengers since becoming leader and has defeated them all, causing hardly anyone to even consider challenging him for several years. Rumor has it that Ryuu's mother was a descendant of the line of Zuko, and his father was a descendant of the line of Katara and Aang, giving him powerful Bending blood in his veins and the potential to be a father to Waterbending, Firebending, or Airbending children. He himself is roughly twenty-one, though, and most of the group is not older than thirty.

- The Underground Earth Kingdom - I covered most of this already in earlier posts, but they live in several cities and towns, all underground. Lighting is only with torches, and sentries stand on pillars high above, watching the ceiling of the numerous caverns to see if any dangerous digging is occurring. Only Earth Benders live here, because they're the only ones who'd want to- they go to escape the surface world. As such, as children there are usually Benders, although some are born without the power to Bend. These non-Bending children are generally made fun of by their Earth-Bending peers. Each town has their own government and are independent of the others; some are ruled by kings, while others have councils or tyrannies or absolute democracies, where everything is voted upon.

INFORMATION Pt 5

- All Firebenders, read! - Okay, so you want a Firebending character. That's cool. Here's what ya gotta know:

-Firebending is an element fueled by passion. Whether that comes in the form of anger, rage, love, or a strong belief in a cause, one must have something to fight for when Firebending. This element is all about attacking, and has little to no actual defensive moves.

-You have to master your breathing to be a good Firebender. Firebending often involves swift kicks and punches that are very direct, but often incorporate spiraling and whirling of the whole body, not just the arms. It's inspired by the real-life martial arts of Northern Xiaolin Kung F.u and Tae Kwon Do, so kicks are critical.

-Some Firebending techniques involve shooting Fire.b.a.ll.s; shooting pure blasts of flame; making rings of fire; making l.as.h.e.s and w.h.i.p.s of fire; making walls of pure fire (which can only be held for, at most, a few seconds); making pre-existing fires bigger; flying through the air on b.a.lls of fire (very dangerous, and only true Firebending masters can do this.).

- Lightning is usable by some Fire benders. For this to be possible, a Bender must be able to completely put aside all their emotions and attachments, and clear their mind. Not being able to do so does not make one weak! It merely means that their lives are too chaotic or too scarred, perhaps they are scared or angry with the world...Most Fire benders cannot bend Lightning. Some Fire benders can, however, redirect lightning thrown at them by another...
-Fire bending is weaker at night.

-PLEASE skim this page if you have time and are going to be R P ing with a Firebender.... h t t p : / / avatar . wikia . com / wiki / Firebending

All Air benders, please read!!! Okay, so you want an Air bending character. That's cool. Here's what you gotta know:

-Air bending is supposed to be the element of freedom and peace. However, at the time that this RP takes place, it has undergone a sort of schism, dividing into two forms: the traditional Airbending style of peace and defense, and the new, more aggressive one that has turned it into a deadly art. People, however, are not born with the potential for just one. Any Air bender may learn either style.

-Air benders of the traditional sort, which is only practiced by few nowadays, involves circular movements, and is inspired by the Martial Art of B.a G.u.a, which involves "circle walking." It involves lots of movements with open hands, jumps, and constant movement. Most of these basic styles are also used by practitioners of newer Air bending ways.

-Some techniques used by Air benders include making shields of moving air, shooting tiny bullets of air, firing tiny bursts of air at the same time as one kicks or punches, making a sickle-shaped bit of solid air called an air swipe, shooting out stuff from a funnel or vortex of air, making tiny b.a.l.ls of air to fly around on, jumping extremely high, etc.

-Peaceful air benders are very defensive, often jumping and turning and trying to get behind their opponents. Newer ones, though, tend to use air swipes and deadly little b.a.ll.s of air, shooting them at opponents like bullets to strike them with huge force. They don't hold back and often jump into the air to come down with huge speed; making their attacks deadlier to opponents...They also use tiny hurricanes and vortexes to bang opponents around terrifyingly, striking them against walls and other objects.

- Air bending is not telekinesis. You can't simply pick stuff up and say "he used the air to move it with." While things can be moved with Air bending, it's hard to control, and is made sporadically, with bursts of wind and air currents.

-Staffs were commonly used in the defensive style, while nowadays, there are hardly any defensive practitioners, so they mainly just go bare handed. Some offensive-styled ones go barehanded, while others use fans tipped with blades or ninja stars to guide with their air currents.

-Airbenders cannot fly without a glider, and none of them really use those anymore- none exist. It's possible that later on in the RP, though, a character might make one. No flying bison or lemurs exist anymore, but their DNA is in certain government labs along with numerous other extinct species from Aang's time. Air benders can, however, use air to propel themselves and help themselves jump to large heights of anywhere from ten to fifty feet- higher if they are a master or an Avatar...

-Air benders can run at speeds of about thirty miles an hour with the wind to give them speed, but only for ten minutes at a time (roughly), often panting and needing to catch their breath afterwards. In a world where the streets are just empty space that one can fall into, though, this might not always be such a good idea, and many inexperienced Air benders have been cornered in this way by the government's police.

-Air benders' main weaknesses are tight spaces. As such, some are claustrophobic. It's difficult for them to move around as much as they need to in such areas. An Air bender can be caged, because they can't move around enough to move air and escape.

-PLEASE READ/SKIM this page if you are planning to RP with an Airbending charrie, I'd sure appreciate it...only if you have time, of course. h t t p : / / avatar . w i k i a . c o m / wiki / Air _ Bending

INFORMATION Pt 6

All Water Benders, please read!!! Okay, so you want a Water Bending character. That's cool. Here's what you gotta know:

-Water Bending is an art of changing and constant flowing, able to adapt to numerous circumstances. It is very graceful and based on a form of Tai Chi. The techniques are somewhat slower than the determined Fire Benders' and the jumpy Air Benders', but this is by no means a weakness. A Water Bender uses concepts similar to Judo in their fighting; by this I mean that they take an opponent's attack and turn it on them, instead of just throwing up a shield and jumping away like a traditional Air Bender might do.

-Water Bending has, by far, the most subsets to it, including:

-Blood Bending : This can only be practiced on the night of the Full Moon, which means only once every thirty days, approximately, so it won't be featured too often in our RP. (If you want it to be that night, announce it in bold or italics, and then the other people with charries capable of it will know. But if that occurs, it'll be awhile before I give the "okay" for another Full Moon night.) Blood Bending is extremely, incredibly difficult . MOST WATER BENDERS CANNOT DO THIS, EVEN THE AVATAR. It is a very dark and dangerous technique, and involves moving the fluids in another person's body to basically move their body like a puppet. Anyone with ethics will probably have reservations about using it, and in this society, only the Fekkara and its members actually know how to do so. I will only allow limited numbers of people to use this, so ask me if you want your charrie to have the potential to do so.

- Plant Bending - It's pretty much Blood Bending, except you're moving the Water in plants to control vines, leaves, flowers, grass, and perhaps even trees. One could also take the water out of plants to use for regular Water Bending, but this would kill the plants instantly, so many have reservations about doing so. It is not very difficult at all, but for some reason, hasn't occurred to many Water Benders to try this. It's not really useful in the world of Xian Da Fe, because plants are mainly to be found in greenhouses and indoor gardens. Some trees do line the streets of the upper levels, though, and plants grow freely in the ruins of Ba Sing Se, causing some areas in the ruins to be forest-like.

-Healing- This is a Water Bending skill that only about one third of Water Benders can do. It requires water to do so, and involves the practitioner taking water and causing it to float around their hands, then touching the injured person. Their hands then start to glow, and the user concentrates on healing individual wounds, or perhaps sicknesses and disease. A good knowledge of the body and medicine is required to heal well and consistently, but it is possible that in times of extreme pain to the Water Bender in question or of emotional torment and agony, they may be able to heal purely on instinct. This ability is more common in women than men naturally, but some male Water Benders do have it. Not all Water Benders can do this, as I said before; healing cannot solve all wounds, as well. For instance, if someone's arm was chopped off, a healer could close up the wound and the stump, but couldn't regrow the arm. Superficial wounds like cuts are far easier to heal than internal ones. Broken bones cannot be healed by Water Bending.

-Water Bending involves the manipulation of Water. Techniques involve both the use of liquid water and ice. They include but aren't limited to: shooting blasts of water, making whips to strike an enemy with, making waves, making walls of water, forming air pockets underwater that allow one to walk on the floor of a body of water, making bullets of water, instantly changing water to ice or ice to water, making icicles to use as spears, making ice claws on one's fingers, breathing ice, making discs of ice, making watery tentacles, making floating whirlpools, making a drill of water, and creating an icy surfboard and propelling it by oneself.

-Water Benders usually need to take the water from somewhere else, like a glass, a pool, or a pouch. Very few except masters can actually produce it out of the moisture in the air, and this only works in moist, humid environments. It's exhausting to most. Water Benders like Katara used to take Water with them in leather skins and pouches; now they do it in tiny metal spheres (similar to P.o.k.e.b.a.l.l.s.) that contain about a gallon of compressed water in each. These are heavy, so most Water Benders only carry around one to three. The Fekkara wear them openly, but Water Benders trying to hide who they are must make a decision: Do they risk someone finding it on their person and realizing that only a Water Bender would carry them around? Or do they walk around defense-less, hoping that there will be water nearby if they are ever attacked?

-Water Bending consists of mostly graceful movements, usually with the upper body. There are very few kicks to be found in water bending. The rigid style of the Swamp Benders has now completely died out. Open handed strikes and punches, as well as the elbows, are all used.

-Since the upper body is so important, a Water Bender is greatly weakened if their hands are bound.

-Water Bending is stronger at night, and stronger during the full moon.

-PLEASE READ/SKIM this page if you are planning to RP with a Waterbending charrie, I'd sure appreciate it...only if you have time, of course. h t t p : / / avatar . w i k i a . c o m / wiki / Waterbending

- All Earth Benders, please read!!!!! Okay, so you want an Earth Bending character. That's cool. Here's what you gotta know:
-Earth Bending is the element of "jing", which is the idea that one should not be purely offensive or defensive, but wait for an ideal moment to attack and do it. It also consists of sturdiness, and toughness/endurance.

-Its attacks are mainly hard, tough kicks and quick punches, which, while not agile, can still be swift and are generally quite powerful. It often involves trying to guess what your opponent is going to do next; the concept of neutral "j.i.n.g" is still heavily stressed.

-Some of its techniques include: lifting/throwing rocks, causing them to shatter with punches or kicks, making tiny earthquakes or cracks in the ground, causing people to sink into the ground, making shields of rock, making rock gloves with three fingers, making earth columns rise up out of the ground, hanging easily and spider-like from rocks/metal, climbing up rocks/metal walls, launching the earth/metal underneath oneself to fly into the air, making tunnels, making earth/metal/crystal/glass/dust/sandy armor, and more. -

-Sandbending is used rarely nowadays, due to lack of sand. But some people can turn glass back into dust and then sand to carry around with themselves. Most Earth Benders can use this technique, but most choose not to, due to the difficulty in finding sand to use and the perceived uselessness of it in battle other than creating clouds of sand.

- Metalbending is far more common nowadays then in Toph's time. In the Underground Earth Kingdom, legends are still told of the Great Toph and what she contributed to Earth Bending. It is not as easy as Earthbending, but due to the necessity of it (after all, they live in a city world) most Earth Benders who grow up in the City, instead of in the Underground Earth Kingdoms, learn to use metal. It is mainly used for close up attacks, and often the user must be touching the metal, but with practice, one can levitate metallic objects and/or shoot them at opponents. Metallic armor is also a commonly-used technique, as is crushing the metal weapons of the military just by grabbing them.

-In the Underground Earth Kingdoms, young Earth Benders practice in many ways, including punching buckets of solid stone and making their hands flow into it as if it were sand. To the unpracticed from the above-ground City, this can greatly hurt. XD

-Air is the opposite element of Earth, so for an Earth Bending Avatar, it's hard to learn how to constantly jump, move, and evade, instead of standing one's ground.

-In the Underground Earth Kingdoms, most people walk around bare-foot, to feel connected to the Earth. Kicks are highly utilized in Earthbending, and some people can sense attacks coming through the ground, as Toph did in the series. EarthBenders are weaker in the Air, such as on a Verk or in a suspended cage, and wooden cages can easily hold them.

-PLEASE READ/SKIM this page if you are planning to be an Earth Bender charrie, I'd really appreciate it...only if you have the time, of course. h t t p : / / avatar . wiki a . c o m / wiki / Earth _ Bending

DA RULZ!!!!! :O

-1. THOU SHALT NOT HAVE MARY SUES. What this means is that you will not have a perfect character. Now, this does not mean that you simply don't have a s.e.x.y, super-intelligent blonde tennis-star as your player. Ooooh, no. No, what this means is that your character will not be perfect. There must be something wrong with them. No one is perfect!!! And no, you can't say, "Well, she's a brunette and is a nerd, but is just so sweet and doesn't let all the bullying bother her, and is kind to everyone." That's a Mary Sue to me. It should be more like, "Well, she's a brunette and is introverted- people have made efforts to communicate with her, but she's too socially awkward to talk to them" or "Well, she's a nerd and the bullying's really broken down her self esteem/she really is an angry person at the world." SOMETHING like that. Get my drift? ;)

2. THOU SHALT NOT TALK AS IF THOU ARE TEXTING. This isn't school. It's not homework, it's supposed to be fun. So, if you're not the best writer/speller/are grammatically challenged, it's okay. So long as you make your best effort to sound literate, then it's okay. :) I just don't want "an1 2 tlk like thgs." Okay? Cool.

3. THOU SHALT NOT POWERPLAY, UNLESS THOU HAST THE PERMISSION REQUIRED...EST. OR SOMETHING. "Powerplay" means that you take control over another character. Now, that's not allowed, but if someone knows they're going to be off for awhile and gives someone permission, it's perfectly acceptable to throw in a line here or there mentioning that "Character A nodded at Character B's suggestion." That's cool, and it's helpful. Also, please don't ask "where can I come in?" Use your own imagination and decide where to! What's the point of me telling your charrie what to do, hmmmm? O.o

4. THOU SHALT NOT COMPLAIN THAT THOU DOST NOT KNOWETH WHAT TO DO(ETH?) WITH THY CHARRIES!!!! >:O Seriously, this one's a pet peeve of mine, guys. I want you to give your character subplots. I want you to take ideas you come up with and throw them into the mix here, see if they work. Really, the only guidelines I have are "Avatar tries to learn four elements, tries to save world and fix conflicts." Other than that, pretty much anything is fair game. I wanna see betrayals, I wanna see secrets, I wanna see characters change and mature or maybe turn bad or good, I wanna see romances crop up- and you DON'T need to have permission from the other person to make your character have a crush another. One thing I don't want to see is someone saying something like, "Hey, can your character have a crush on mine? I want them to be a couple." If only couples were that easy in real life...

No, you can make your character like another, but it's up to that other person whether or not they make theirs return your charrie's affections and have the love be on both sides. In real life, and in the Avatar: The Last Airbender TV show, people have crushes on other people who don't like them back. It happens, and it's interesting to read and write about- wayyyyy more so than two people who automatically pair up.

Oh, also- charries can be of any s.e.x.u.a.l.i.t.y in this RP. Straight, b.i., g.a.y., a.s.e.x.u.a.l, whatevs. If you don't like it, don't join- tolerance is the next big thing, and differences RULE. :)

5. THOU SHALT NOT SUE ME!!!! D: Haha, this RP is based on interviews from the creators of, and the TV show itself called, "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and "Avatar: The Legend of Korra." The website "avatar wiki" also helped me a lot with this whole thing, like info on bending. Credit where credit is due and all...this is purely for fun and entertainment purposes. :) I own nothing! I'd really prefer it if you've seen the show before entering this RP, though... O.o tell me if you haven't, and I'll decide whether or not you're up to this. ;)

6. THOU SHALT MAKE BENDING BATTLES (and other kinds) INTENSE, AND ONE-LINERS MAY BE USED THERE...BUT ONLY THERE!!!!! One-liners are only okay during fights. Okay, so when two people are having their charries fight, either with Bending or otherwise, huge paragraphs MIGHT not work, since such battles are fast-paced. Like romance, you don't have to ask another charrie's permission for a battle to start. Here's how one might go down.

Sokka looked over at Aang and gasped. He could see Azula flying straight towards them on a burst of flame!

Aang turned and saw her. He ducked and whipped his open palms in concentric circles, quickly creating a spiral of air like a pinwheel.

Azula cursed as she landed on the other side of Aang. She whipped around and kicked off two bursts of blue flame, one above the other, that shot towards Aang.
Aang cried out in pain as one of the fire.b.a.l.l.s hit him, and the windy construct dissolved.
That's another thing- your charries aren't immortal. They can and should be injured/struck/hit by their opponents. In Bending battles, people land hits. Don't have your charrie constantly dodge.

7.THOU SHALT NOT HAVE OUR CHARRIES FORM A WANDERING CARAVAN!!!! I'm predicting that there'll be a lot of role-players- or at least a lot of charries- in this RP. As such, they should NOT all be together. In the show, did Aang, Iroh, Azula, Yue, Sokka, Katara, Zuko, Haru,Toph, Ty Lee, Mai, Hakoda, and Hama all wander around together? NO, because that would've been ridiculous. Have charries split up into groups! Maybe one charrie betrays some of them to join another! Maybe some form an alliance, or are thrusted together by fate! Who knows! Just don't have all of our charries all together.

Be nice, no trolling. My word is law on this thread, though. -_- Most importantly of all, HAVE FUN!!!! :D

Skeletons for characters

Name: (it should be Asian- look online for ideas, or type in a word in Google Translate, pump it out in Japanese, Korean or Chinese, etc., then write it phonetically (how it sounds)!

Age: (anywhere from nine to a hundred... XD )

Gender: (male or female)

Physical Appearance: (What they look like, not what they wear- doesn't have to be Asian! Ethnicities between the ancient four nations have become so mixed that most people don't know their ancestry to that time...imagine trying to say where your ancestors of two thousand years ago came from!)

Wears: (Remember the clothing/fashion section!)

Bending: (Tell me if they can or not, (if so) what element, and what subsets they have (that is, can they lightning bend? Can they Heal? Have some peeps who can't do those, it's more interesting that way, guys! :) )

Personality : (Get detailed! This should reflect their Bending/non-Bending skills, too... A Lightning Bender shouldn't have too tumultous/emotional of a personality, or- at least- should be able to put it aside! If they were in the last RP, how have (if at all) they changed during that RP in terms of personality?)

Bio: (What has their life been like so far? What class are they- upper, middle, or lower? What's their family like? Where do they live? Maybe in the capital city of Bujio, another one of the forty-one sectors, or the Underground Earth Kingdoms? What has made them into who they are today? If they were in the past RP, give a brief summary of what they went through... )

(You can copy and past the skellie, so you can get the "bold"ed parts. I'd prefer it if you added spaces to make it easy to read- that's ten "enters" between different paragraphs. If you're on an iPod or phone or something, I totally understand.)
(Okay, begin posting, guys! :D)

Name: Peng Sato

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Physical Appearance: He stands of a medium height, at about 5' 10". His brown hair is very wavy and curly, much to his chagrin- it's not a very "macho" look at all, but no matter how he cuts it or tries to gel it, it stays the way it is. He wears it fairly short, after many years of demanding it be long. His skin is still pale and freckly, though his acne has begun to clear up lately. His eyes are a mixture of blue and grey, and almost appear to be layered- as if there are several rings within them, each one surrounding the next. In fact, he's secretly proud of his eyes- several girls have pointed them out in fascination, and it's probably his only phsyical trait that he likes. His smile is hesitant, but when he laughs, he laughs extremely loudly. He's somewhat skinny, too. He weights roughly 145 pounds. In the past few months that he's been traveling with Ruri, he's gotten more fit, losing  some fat and putting on some muscle from both her hand-to-hand combat training and his own practicing at Airbending.

Wears:He is part of the lower middle class, so he usually wears black jeans and grey, white, or red hoodies. He likes to keep the sleeves rolled up, and they usually have fun holographic designs or brands on them. He also has several bracelets and rings, and wears black sleeveless shirts underneath his hoodies, but only takes off his hoodies on warm nights when he's trying to sleep or wants a blanket.

Bending: Air Bender (defensive/traditional style; lower intermediate. He's been practicing more using information from his Airbending skills, but he recognizes that if he is to improve much more, he'll need a real teacher.)

Personality: He's a very intelligent kid, but was never at the top of his class. Athletics definitely aren't his thing. Even when it comes to Bending, he doesn't believe he has exceptional or prodigious talent, though he has definitely improved in the past few months. Peng tries to be an optimist, but often finds his self-esteem low, believing himself to be inadequate and afraid of the future. He tries to hide it, but he's actually an incredibly insecure person. He loves to read, and views his greatest quality as that of his tolerance: he believes that differences are something special that should be valued, and people only think things are "unnatural" or "disturbing" because they're not used to them. Despite this, he was somewhat horrified to learn he was a Bender- he was tolerant and accepting of Benders, but didn't want to have to actually be one, because of the social stigmas and dangers of actually being one; he also doesn't want to disappoint his parents. Peng is aware of the hypocrisy in this, and is still trying to figure out his life views at the moment. He knows for sure now that he is a Bender, but isn't sure if he can "get rid of it" or not, perhaps by stopping practicing...When it comes to love, Peng's a bit socially awkward romantically. However, most of his friends at school were girls, and he finds that he gets along with them much better than guys. He and Ruri were extremely close friends before she learned he was an Airbender. He's taken her rejection hard, and feels very lonely, wanting someone to spend time with and feeling sorrier for himself than ever as a result of a lack of such a person.

Sometimes he wonders if he only sticks up for minorities because he likes being the one against the many- he likes being on the side of the underdogs, no matter what their views. As you might have gathered, he's also very aware of his personality and his flaws. He's definitely quite creative, and loves to write and draw.

Bio: He discovered he could Airbend when he was five, but never practiced, developed, or mentioned it, until he was twelve and learned of the laws against Bending and how Benders could be legally killed or arrested on sight, just for being Benders. While experiencing an initial period of revulsion for a few months, he then briefly dated a girl who could Bend Earth. The relationship soon ended, with her running off to try and find other Earthbenders (in the underground cities), but it helped him to realize that Benders are people, too. His tolerance and acceptance for Benders and other minorities only grew from then on, alienating him from a few friends. After a year of secretly practicing Airbending at home, his sister Akako murdered his classmate Siya's family for Siya's bullying of Peng in school, prompting Peng to ally himself with Ruri, a skilled hunter of Benders.

Ruri revealed to Peng that there is a secret operation known as The Procedure that has, in certain cases, been known to remove Bending from an individual. Despite inner qualms, Peng decided they should try to capture Akako and give her the procedure. During his travels with Ruri to Sectors 35, 38 and 39, Peng continued practicing Air Bending secretly at night while still living in denial over what he is and can do. After meeting a man named both Bei Ming and J'Wa who turned out to be a skilled Waterbender and ally of a group of non-Benders who helped Peng, he and Ruri returned to Bujio to look for Akako at the Presidential Wedding, where Peng was forced to reveal his Bending to Ruri, prompting her to reject him as a friend.

Name: Jiyu Fei Zou is what he currently goes by, though some people who were in the old BaoCrowd knows him as Kameron Henso. Both names are fake.

Name Meaning: Jiyu means "freedom," Kameron means "chameleon" and Henso means "disguise"

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Bending: Water, and is an excellent healer. Actually, healing is the only thing he's taught himself - he refuses to do anything else.

Physical Appearance: Jiyu is fairly tall, standing just over six feet with long, slender legs and arms. However, he does not have much musculature to speak of at all, and his fairly skinny frame makes him appear to be even taller. His skin is very pale- so pale, it's almost got a purplish tinge to it, but for some reason it never gets burned, or tanned, for that matter. He has large hands and feet, along with long fingers, and his lack of acne almost makes him look even older. His most hated feature about himself – which, strangely enough, would be loved by normal people – are his large, recognizable, and very gold eyes. No, not a pale brown or even amber, but a bright and cold gold, which makes him easy to identify, especially since he hates wearing colored contacts. Despite his lack of any recent shaving, he has no facial hair whatsoever, it just seems like he can't grow any even if he tried. Overall, the rest of his body is fairly normal – a curved, proportionately-sized nose, smallish ears, and so forth.

Clothes: Jiyu has three "faces," so to speak: day, night, and "White Wonder." During the day, is always in clothes of the locals. Whenever he goes to another area, he changes his outfit, as his aim is to always blend in like a chameleon. During the night, he dons a black cloak that easily conceals all the weapons he hides underneath. If possible, he tries to keep as much skin (especially the face) as covered as possible, without arousing any suspicion. Lastly, although his "White Wonder" look is similar to his night clothing, given that he wears a cloak, there is something added: a mask. Not just any mask, however, but a replica of the mask Amon, the ancient leader of the Equalists - the first anti-Benders - wore. He bought it with his twisted irony of sorts.

Personality: In essence, Jiyu is shrouded, or steeping, some could say, in mystery. He changes and adapts to the situation and scenery, and seldom speaks or have people even aware of his presence. If he lived in our universe, you could say that he would be the best actor, and is, needless to say, he is a bit eccentric and introverted. Also, he is never caught surprised – at least, if he is, he would never show it, as he is smooth (or so he likes to think) when he does open his mouth. To some people, he may even seem bipolar, as sometimes he is very cold, humorless, and serious, but at others - especially when he's wearing his mask - he seems like an absolutely crazy psycho. He will not think twice about killing someone, even if that someone is a woman or child, and has done so many times. Once he sets himself to a goal, he will never give it up, proven when he spent almost five years finding and protecting the Avatar. Jiyu had conflicted emotions about his bending. As a whole, he is quite obviously pro-Bending, but when it comes to his own element, Water, he absolutely despises it, which is why he's only taught himself healing, despite his merciless personality. Whenever someone reminds him of his family, whether it's on purpose or not, many emotions in him are triggered, sometimes reducing him almost to tears, if he's not careful. Despite this, however, he likes to think that he has zero emotions whatsoever.

Bio: Jiyu is very much so a master of disguise, it is, after all, his life. Although it may seem at some points that he's working for a certain group, that is not the case - he doesn't trust anyone else enough to do so. No one truly knows anything about his past, because he is constantly traveling and even changes his identities every so often. Likewise, he rarely interacts with others, and does it only if necessary. Needless to say, no one knows of him or would be able to recognize him on the spot, unless they caught sight of his eyes. As well as an expert of camouflage, he is also extremely adept at following and tracking others, completely unnoticed. Sometimes, he is tailing someone to execute an assassination, and others, he is watching out to protect them. In his younger days, Jiyu was born into a normal, middle-class family of Benders, pretending to be non-Benders. His mother had been a member of the Fekkara, but abandoned the group when she was sent out on a solo mission to kill Benders and met and Earthbender, who would later become her husband and Jiyu's father. When he was twelve, however, the Fekkara finally tracked them down and kill his whole family, including his younger sister, Kaiya, or so he thinks – he, like a coward, ran away before the Fekkara could get to him. This is why he hates Water – even though it's a part of him, it kill his family and almost himself. He especially despises Ichiro, the one to kill his family, which is why Jiyu attempted to assassinate him. After the Fekkara incident, he knew he had to do something, and couldn't just let it go. So then he decided to gather as much information about the Avatar, whom he believed could unite everyone, at least the pro-Benders, and topple the government and most importantly, the Fekkara. For the first year and a half, he spent his time looking around for any information, until he found the Great Library of Wan Shi Tong. He then spent a year in the Library, and the next year trying to find the Avatar. The most recent year and a half, he spent essentially stalking Bao to make sure he stayed safe, and waiting until Bao found out he was the Avatar, where Jiyu would start helping him along his path.

For a while after he revealed himself to the Avatar and eventually (and inadvertently) formed a group of other Benders connected to Bao, he led them to a fairly isolated mountain range so Bao could learn Firebending, his next element. Once he decided that the Avatar was firm on his path and wouldn't need his help for a while, Jiyu decided to continue on his own plans and left the group without telling them- and taking Sensaina with him. To try to avenge his family, he's been blowing up factories and other fairly important buildings to the government as well as other things. To him, Sensaina is just someone to distract the government with since they believe her to actual be the Avatar. Since the wedding, where Jiyu attempted to assassinate Ichiro, he and Sensaina have been traveling the Xian Da Fe, stopping to fulfill more of his "White Wonder duties." Extra: He has an almost infinite amount of weapons, including, various laser guns and bombs. One thing that Jiyu doesn't have that he highly covers, however, is a force-field shield like the ones the military has.

Name: Kokoro Setchi

Name Meanings: Kokoro means “spirit,” “mind,” “emotions,” etcetera, and Setchi means “grounded,” which refers to both his element and personality.

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Bending: Earth, and he is proficient in Metalbending as well

Physical Appearance: Kokoro has straight, shaggy, chocolate-brown hair that covers his eyes, especially since it has been a while since he's last cut his hair. Also, since he hasn't shaved in quite some time, he has a bit of facial hair. It's not much, really, but it does give him sort of an appearance of a homeless dude. His eyes are also brown, which is no big surprise, considering he’s an Earthbender. Normally his skin would be fair, but since he essentially lives outside, he is fairly tan. His body is strongly built, though more leaner than buff. He has almond-shaped eyes and a strong jawline, and stands just over six feet tall. He’s not too bad to look at, though usually his personality and distinct scowl turns people away. As for his clothing, he honestly could care less what he wears, as long as it, like, doesn't leave him naked or anything like that. Usually he has on jeans and a T-shirt – cheap things, considering he was part of the lower class. One clothing article that does conflict with his socio-economic status, however, is the cracked leather jacket he always wears, which his father gave him as a birthday present long ago when they got along more with each other.

Personality: When you first meet him, Kokoro seems rude, gruff, and socially-awkward. Same thing would go probably for the next few impressions too, actually. He is nonchalant and indifferent to the extreme, and lets nothing faze him. Like most Earthbenders, he’s as stubborn as can be, too, and fiercely independent. He’s very cautious about making relationships and it is extremely hard to gain his trust. Even if you do gain it, he still is likely to ignore or leave you, since he prefers to be by himself a lot more. On the flip side, however, Kokoro is extremely trustworthy (once you’ve earned his trust, that is), protective, self-sufficient, and determined: if he starts a task, he won’t give up until it’s done or if he’s dead. Although he doesn’t have much school-smarts (he barely gets by with simple reading, and don’t even ask him how to write...), he is very street-smart – after all, he has been living on his own for a long time, avoiding the police and such. Like I said earlier, he is rarely caught off guard, and a lot of the time just ignores or snorts at people to cover it up if he is. Actually, he has a strange sense of humor – often he'll laugh or crack a joke even if it isn't really the "right time" to do so, because he often doesn't take serious situations very seriously since he believes no one really has gone through enough "tough stuff" as him, so therefore no one really deserves his complete respect. He’s extremely observant and scarcely misses a detail, and although he isn’t your “token leader,” he’d be a good advisor. He also hates it when people think he's an ignorant/uneducated piece of scum (but then again, who does?) and has a slight prejudice against non-Benders and a very strong one against Waterbenders. Also, he refuses to put up with people's c r a p, and if someone tries to trick him or something, he most likely will never give them another chance - basically, he will hold onto a grudge just about forever.

Bio: Kokoro was born into a rural family, and was the eldest and only Earthbender among six other siblings, and the one closest in age to him was four years younger. Now, when I say "rural," I'm using it loosely – in essence he was part of a lower class community who lived on the surface, but only to work in the greenhouses. So even when he was young, he was very independent and knew how to take care of himself. His mom died while giving birth to sibling number six, causing his father to get very depressed and become an alcoholic. He was just eight then. He went to school for about a year or two, but to help out at home, his father took him out. He absolutely hates his father, though not as much because of the previous statement mentioned. His dad abused his children severely, and most of the time singled Kokoro out for it, though he's not sure why, except that it was because he was the oldest (he didn't tell anyone he was a Bender, he was too scared to). This went on for a long while, adding on to his gruff and untrustworthy side. When he was twelve, he decided he had had enough of it, took a few belongings, then ran away. The first year or so was hard, especially since he took off into a city (and he was just a “country boy”) and the fact that he was actually alone. During this time, he taught himself the bit of Metalbending he knows. At this time, he truly was able to master his element. At around fifteen, Kokoro had transitioned to a full on traveller, never staying in one place for too long.

After much thinking, he decided to travel to the ruins of Ba Sing Se. On the way, he met fought with Hinohana and against Akako, but eventually made it to the ruins. However, he found that there was an open passage to the UEK and realized that it must have been an outsider. After, well, quite a bit, he ended up being the prisoner of some Fekkara (Ichiro, Bei Kun, Chi Mizou, and Amayah) as well as Ekano, and was forced to help them find their way to the surface. Kokoro ended up successfully escaping them, witty the help of an unnamed and mysterious pro-Bender organization, and eventually decided to go to Grand Presidential Wedding, where he met the Avatar &Co. and decided to join them.

Extra: He absolutely hates Waterbenders. He just can't stand them at all. On another note, he also hates babies and young children.
