she cries in the corner where noboy sees
shes the girl with a story no one would believe
she sits in her room, trying to pray
a broken heart, has lost her way.
she walks down the hallway at school gaze on the ground
she wears her long sleeves always pushed down
she believes him when he says its accadental
she is lost in the brown eyes of a teenage tyrant
they say he is lying, but she wont listen.
he is a boy with dark brown hair
quarterback on the highschool football team
he has good grades, comes from a decent family
his charming smile, holding sugary words
keeps her believeing his charade of innocence.
he walks around with his head up
anyone who crosses him, he will beat up
everyone knows that he is bad news
but she only sees how his heart could improve
he hit her the first time out of anger
he said afterwards that he didnt mean to
that she hit him first, she shouldnt of messed with him
the bruises he left stayed for over a week
the third time around, she wonders what she is missing
she wont look up as she says, "but he loves me."
she runs to her room, falls down on her bed
the sobs shake her body out of control
tears run down like rain, red in the face
she rips all the pictures off of her wall
her heart feels like a heavy rock in her chest
she sits up with what little strength she has left
she whispers, "it cant be true...it cant be"
she walks to the bathroom, slow like a ghost
she takes out the meds from under the sink
she takes a deep breath and gets in the tub
flowing warm water carries a body to heaven.
