you look across the room at me
I'm just finishing up filing papers
you think you are so sly and great
I'm just ignoring you in every way
you drop your paperwork with a thud
I'm shaking my head, it was on purpose
i shake my head again and say to you:

look away, i know what kind of man you are
i know what to say, because it is so obvious
i saw your wedding ring on your desk
i might go for you, if i didn't already know about her
look away, i know what kind of man you are
look away, i know just how she will feel
look away, go home i know she is waiting for you.

you give me a wide eyed innocent look
i wear a smirk as i turn and walk away
you pick up your paper work and your keys
i know what the right thing to do is
and for her sake you will take my advice:

look away i know what kind of man you are
i know what to say, because its so obvious
i saw your wedding ring on your desk
i might go for you,  if i didn't have a clue
but look away, i know what kind of man you are
look away, i have felt like she will before
look away, go home i know she still loves you.

you wink at me as you walk out the door
i see you get into your car, as you drive past
i see you and a young blonde haired girl
i told you to take my advice...
but now i know how she will feel
i know how her heart will break
wondering where you are
now that you have taken her for granted
you should of looked away, and gone home.
