Deadline is when I get 10-15 entries (hopefully)
They glisten, they glow,
They put on a show.
Snowflakes are cold,
With a touch of white gold.
They make a superb sight
Of wintry white.
To capture a Snowflake
patience it will take
Men try again and again,
until finally, they WIN.
The snow creature waits
himself he hates.
The snow creature ponders
Away his mind wanders.
His heart is cold
it has grown so old.
A solitary flake falls from the sky
it tells the tales of its journey from high.
The snowflake dreams of wonderful things
as he lays upon the ground.
The galloping Doe
looks to and fro
hiding from her death.
Yet still she will drown
when she is shot down
and she’ll stain the snow with her blood.
By tiny children the snow is stormed
the outcome is a snowman formed.
It stands tall it stands proud
the childrens glad screams are very loud.
The snow harvests many stories in its arms
The snow is full with many charms.
Wow! Those are both awesome!
Slowly I float
Spiraling towards the ground
The gentlest wind
Blows me into my neighbor
Race towards the ground
Leaving me behind
A wind blows gently
Sending me spinning sideways
Wind dieing down
I find myself close to the ground
Softly I touch the ground
Surrounded by friends
New ones gather around
All together at last.
“Who are you?” I asked.
Soft snowflakes fell onto his eyelashes and coated them in a white blanket. He was becoming more pale and blue as the atmosphere became colder. He looked like an imaginary creature, a fairy.
“I’m John,” he stuttered. He held his arms tightly across his shoulders as his body shook violently.
“Maybe you should come inside . . .” I said reluctantly. Allowing people who weren’t Dad’s beer buddies inside was against the rules, but I was tired of being stuck in this empty house with my Dad always gone.
I opened the big brass doors and the inevitably loud creak sounded. It echoed through the long, empty halls as I continued to pull them open. John quickly entered and immediately seated himself on our bench. He rocked back and forth as his teeth chattered relentlessly. The poor boy looked as if he needed a hot bath.
“Why don’t you go upstairs to our bathroom and freshen up?” I suggested. “I’ll make you some hot cocoa.”
“Oh, don’t worry about me. I’ll be out of your way in a minute.”
“Don’t need to tell me twice.”
He sprinted up the stairs while his footsteps left deep imprints in the carpet. When I heard a door close from the upstairs, the house returned to its quiet nature. As I walked to the kitchen, my oxfords created a loud echo when it clacked against the tile floor.
With every quiet minute passing by, I was more and more glad that John rang my doorbell.
But I wasn’t exactly in great emotions when my Dad showed up with a gun.
I can submit my story Ten Seconds to Forgotten, which has snow in it... thanks for hosting this contest ;)
Thanks for entering!
Can I submit me piecee Snow? its on here
Oh, sure! That would be great.
Any more entries, please?
If it's not too late, here's my entry... (it kind of deals with snow...ish)
As the saying goes
Well mine are both frozen over
From all the New York snow
It took a few years,
But everything chills in the freezer eventually
I just took longer than most
I’d rather have mittens
My second entry (you did say two were allowed! :D)
Parmesan cheese falls from the sky
To make grass tastier for cows
Don’t ask me why, I don’t know
Just some words that belonged
To an innocent Floridian five year old
He would never see snow
Not too late! Two more entries and I will close this contest.
When the flakes fell he stole my heart
when the flakes fell he kissed me
when the flakes fell he sat by my side in the snow
and we would tell each other stories
when the flakes fell he said he would stay with me forever
when the flakes fell I found out that men are liars
when the flakes fell my heart broke in two
when the flakes fell he left me sitting alone in the snow.
When the sun beamed I forgot all about him
when the sun beamed I enjoyed the joy filled days
when the sun beamed I found another love.
But the next time the flakes I sat in the snow once more and thought of him.
One more entry and I will close this contest!
Come on, one more entry?
Sorry I already submitted 2 :)
